We recently had such a refreshing experience with Modern Heating & Air that I felt compelled to share. My wife asked if we had our furnace serviced for the winter, and I honestly couldn't remember. To be safe, she scheduled an appointment for a technician to come out. Before the visit, someone from the office took the time to call and let me know that our furnace had already been serviced earlier in the year and that another appointment wasn't necessary. They could have easily kept the appointment and charged us for an extra visit -- but they didn't. That level of honesty and integrity says everything. I truly feel that Modern Heating & Air genuinely cares about us as customers. It's rare to find a company that prioritizes trust over profit, and that kind of service earns long-term loyalty. Water heater quit working during a week that I was acting as a care-giver for a 3 year old - Couldn't even get her a bath. Left messages with 3 HVAC companies and Modern was the only one that returned my call within minutes (Holt actually never called back until the afternoon of the FOLLOWING DAY!). When technician was unable to diagnose a system defect, he discovered that gas service had been mistakenly "capped" by Midamerican Energy. Eventually discovered that I had been paying on the wrong meter for nearly 13 years and was owed over $2000 refund for lower gas usage then I had paid for (now just trying to get them to pay up...). Modern's response time was excellent. Service tech was excellent. Really impressed with this company. read more

Called on Saturday night as disabled daughters furnace would not turn on! They installed this unit 3 years ago and I pay for service warranty and they do not have anyone an available until Monday, according to the call center! Unit keeps turning on and off and I feel this is a serious issue! Do not recommend if you want 24 hour service! Will be canceling warranty and find another company! UPDATE: Found out Sunday morning that the call center mislead me and that technician called me this morning and is on his way to help my disabled daughter's furnace get her 3 year old furnace up and running! Modern Heating and Cooling was referred by a friend and a satisfied customer and they did not disappoint. We I called for service I figured I'd have to wait being a new customer. That was not the case - they were here in less than a week and all I wanted was an annual check on my furnace/air. They have a wonderful program that works for me because I like to have them checked yearly. The price is very reasonable and this will be a great reminder for me. They're accountable. I've ran into too many companies trying to find ways to avoid taking any ownership of any issue. They installed a unit for us a while back, a couple months past our warranty we experienced some issues which we later verified were related to the manufacturer and not their service. They took accountability anyways, even though it wasn't their fault or obligation to do so. We'll be going back to these guys. They own their work. read more

I had Modern come out and repair my A/C last year and they were upfront about repairing my old system as opposed to a complete replacement. I had some other companies come out as well and they seemed more like salesmen than repair specialist. After working my options I decided to have Modern replace my A/C and furnace.
