Lots of great polished stones and crystals that are all labeled with their names and what they are supposed to do. My first time in this shop and I was very impressed by all aspects of this wonderful small business. Before I even walked in the door I found the place to be warm and inviting. The bright open floor plan provided the perfect display for all the crystals, stone, candles, books and so much more. The prices were quite reasonable so I definitely couldn't resist buying several things. It was even more exciting that the woman who helped me throughout my shopping experience was very friendly, easy to talk to and actually had knowledge and passion about the merchandise and their uses. I went into Modern Mystic Shop specifically for three things and found all of them at reasonable prices, so I bought them after looking at most of the items throughout the store. Modern Mystic Shop is on the second floor of the main building at Ponce City Market. It's a small shop, and can easily be overlooked as customers walk on by. There is a modern and welcoming feel to the store. I found that the employees were very welcoming too, as I was immediately greeted by employees who asked if they could help me find anything. I initially said that I was looking, but, later, I asked where white sage smudge sticks were and she showed me where they were near the entrance. While looking at the the smudge sticks, I picked out a white sage smudge stick, and, noticing there were turkey feathers and abalone shells, I also picked out one of each and bought them so I could purify my condo and rid it of negativity. There are many items in this store that can help improve your life, health, mental state, etc., such as candles, stones, crystals, books and incense, among others. Days after I bought the smudge stick, feather and abalone, I used them to cleanse my condo, myself, and, since he was there while I was performing this process, I also cleansed R. Ok, bad example, but whether you're a Muggle or an advanced wizard Modern Mystic Shop is well worth at least a few minutes of exploration. Located in Ponce City Market, Modern Mystic is a one stop shop for all things magical, mystical, and metaphysical. To my great surprise, besides food, Atlanta is a VERY difficult city when it comes to picking up gifts and souvenirs to bring back home. After a few days of searching far and wide, I found myself back on Ponce De Leon Avenue looking for something unique but not kitschy to carry with me back to LA. After exhausting seemingly all the shops, I grudgingly entered... only to find myself enlightened, amazed, and even educated. Not only does Modern Mystic carry Tarot card decks, books on the metaphysical, and crystals that correspond to the colors of the rainbow, she also carries locally made handcrafts, jewelry, special stones, and yes, sage to equip every "Modern Mystic" with the means to reframe and reorient their own lives. The entire store is stylishly appointed and carefully curated, with friendly and helpful store associates to answer even the random questions of a confirmed skeptic. I don't know about Atlanta, but typically places like this in Los Angeles and New York are kinda janky, with the smell of incense and patchouli everywhere. I can't remember a distinct smell to Modern Mystic, but if there was anything it was probably light and fragrant. It's definitely modern. They have a wide range of crystals but the raw selection is very slim. The store is high volume with people touching all over the crystals. So you definitely will have to clean them. Overall they had some great things. Nice selection of books, tarot cards etc. I personally was on a hunt for Florida water. This is a small shop that focuses in a more ~spiritual~ category of merchandise. You'll find an assortment of sage bundles, a wide variety of crystals and stones, collections of spiritual books, tarot cards, and CBD oils. I think they even do tarot card readings on some days! The staff in here is always SUPER helpful. If you're new to crystals and sage and such things, the staff will never make you feel like a newbie. I love the new space they have at Ponce City Market, located on the second floor. They always have a huge selection of crystals, tarot cards, different kinds of sage, books, and even jewelry. I went this past Saturday and purchased some crystals and sage. Today is Thursday and my boyfriend and I noticed that we had an abnormal amount of flies in our home. He killed around 30 flies today. I keep a tidy home so when walking past the unused sage(placed on my glass ashtray on a glass side table) I noticed that there were dust particles on my glass side table and took a closer look and discovered two MAGOTS in my ashtray. I am extremely shaken up. The sage I purchased from this store caused this to happen in my home. Something I purchased with the intention of cleansing caused me so much distress. The most pretentious witchcraft store in Atlanta. Sadly, it's the only one that's pretty well stocked on the trendier/more modern items around today...but jeeze. I get it. You are #blessed to work in Modern Mystic. The vibe is always hostile immediately when walking in there. One employee halted us as we walked in to ask us to use hand sanitizer (which is understandable) and wear our masks, forcing us to block the doorway from other people trying to leave. We were so upset we left, and then she had the audacity to passive aggressively spray the area we just left while motioning for another to employee to slam the door all while glaring at us. This awesome little shop in Ponce City Market Place is not to be missed if you like gemstones and crystals! A nice selection of larger gem pieces, jewelry, and jars filled with tumbled stones you can sort through to choose the ones that speaks to you. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted as everything was really good quality. I found some unique pieces so I was happy as a clam. The owner was nice and explained a bit about the quality of some of the stones I had picked out. A little on the pricey side, but I was very pleased with my purchases. I purchased 2 crystal water bottles for Christmas gifts & 1 had a slow leak at the bottom. They sent out a new rubber seal, but after a few weeks the leak returned. My daughter kept a towel under it since it was so small, but when she went to pick it up the other night & the glass completely broke off clean. I advised customer service & without a response, they just refunded the money saying there was no replacement available, period. I don't want my money back, just replace the glass!? These are super expensive at $60 & even thought I bought it on sale, that shouldn't reflect the quality....maybe it does. She was rude upon entry (I second the hand sanitizer comment made by another reviewer). It made sense but her delivery was weird. She also stood there ignoring us for a good few mins while we were at the cash register ready to pay. I find it a little ironic that someone working in a crystal store can behave in such a low vibrational manner. She had bad energy from the jump. Absolutely lovely little metaphysical shop in Ponce City Market. I brought a friend in who was WAY out of her element in here, but was receptive. This was my first visit as well, and I thought it was very well stocked, staged, and priced. It is on the pricey side, but a) look at where you are and b) I feel like they have a good range of items no matter your budget. Crystals, tarot cards, books, crystals, oils, more crystals. I notice others mentioned some off putting energy from the store-- while I can't say it was extremely peaceful, the energy was relatively neutral while we visited. Sometimes you can walk into these places and the energy can smack you right in the chest and take your breathe away. That wasn't the case here. Some folks also mentioned the sales girls being rude and arrogant-- I can totally get that (except for the girl with the locs-- I forgot your name but, if you see this, heeeeey boo. Hit me up *wink wink* LOL). There were three girls working when we arrived, one being on the way to break or lunch or something, and, yes, only one was interacting with folks in the store. She was nice to us and very helpful. My friend likely looked like a deer in headlights and (ugh, I wish I could remember her name. *Insert name here*) caught that and acted like someone in this kind of shop should have. Idk, maybe the folks who had poor salespeople experiences didn't get the chance to interact with her. That's unfortunate because the salesfolks in these kinds of stores can make or break you quickly. I love this place. The vibe is amazing but the main reason why I love the Modern Mystic Shop is the owners, who are very knowledgeable and you can see the unity they have amongst eachother. I try to come to Sunday school as often as possible and that alone they deserve all the praise. I always leave sunday school more enlightened and knowledgeable than when I walked in. Opening their space to the public for free to educate is something that is really needed. I've also had a reading done by Kaylene, loved her and she helped me put my life into perspective and gave me that reassurance I needed. Highly recommend those interested in crystals stop at Crystal Blue in little five for a more affordable and friendly experience! The staff here are super unhelpful. I've also noticed them following around certain customers as if they are worried that they'll steal. If you're going to be overpriced, you should at least create a welcoming environment in your shop!
