I had to bring my car in to the shop so I was in the area trying to kill time. I got hungry so I grabbed something at Yogi Bee and noticed this spot. Interior looked really nice and clean so I decided to check it out while waiting for my car (also cause my toenails were getting long to the point it was pushing against my shoes ). Once I got my food, I got back in the car and called to see if they had availability. The lady who answered the phone asked if I could come right now and to her surprise I was already in the parking lot eating! I got in right away and got a pedicure with callus removal with Dora who did a fantastic job. I think my feet are ugly so I'm very particular on how they're done, but Dora did a great job with the cuticle and callus removal without me having to make any suggestions. Left my feet smooth as a baby skin smooth! Definitely my favorite pedicure that I've received. I appreciated how clean the whole place was and how relaxing my experience was. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. Next time I have a car appointment, I'm going to bring my girlfriend with me so we can both treat our selves while waiting. :3 read more

This is my new go-to nail salon! Everyone at Modern Nails was very friendly and accommodating. It always takes me awhile to choose a color but they let me take my sweet time and even gave recommendations for a nice summer color. I started off with a pedicure and very much enjoyed using the massage chair at the same time. Even though I recently clipped my nails and they were pretty short, Modern Nails did a fantastic job shaping my nails. Especially Jason was a perfectionist with my nails and I could not be happier with how they turned out. The store was pretty and very clean. I absolutely love this place! When my nail place closed after 20 years due to COVID, the staff at Modern Nails welcomed me with open arms. They renovated their entire shop to implement CDC guidelines. Temperature taken upon arrival with contact tracing forms in place. Hand washing station upon entry. Only a few clients scheduled at a time with barriers between each one. The shop is immaculate and up to date. Special shoutout to Linda, Jason, and Kris who take good care of me. The other staff members are very friendly too. So many polish options-regular, gel and powder. Always soothing experience with nice background music and massage chairs. Please try this place! This place is adorable, stuck in behind a great little sushi place- Moshi Moshi, and a little shopping center with a froyo place in it as well. They are very good and are open on Sundays which is a HUGE plus in Bergen County. However, make an appointment, cause these guys get busy. They have all the OPI and ESSIE latest colors and the color gels and even the new color gels from the LCN people - actually three different types if you are into that. I paid $50 for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure, not bad! My pedicure came out lovely! However, my gel manicure was lumpy and my nails were not filed neatly. I also struggled to find a gel color and a regular color that matched. I do wish there were more color options, but I would definitely return for another pedicure, though! read more

I called to check availability and they told me to come right over which was a big plus. It had been two years since I had a mani/pedi so I wasn't envious of the job ahead of them. I wanted to try a gel manicure since I'm not very dainty and usually chip polish within hours of a manicure. The girl that did my pedicure did a wonderful job and the stone massage was bliss. The only thing that would have been better was if she spoke English. There was another girl there that was happy to translate. The translator tried to match my pedicure color to the gel color. The result wasn't even close. Not a big deal for most people, but I have some OCD issues. I felt very self conscious of my mismatched nails for two weeks. Another woman, the new owner, did my manicure. She did a very good job, nails were filed evenly and the color was great. Long term, this gel manicure quickly developed cracks. I'm sure no one else could see them, but I knew they were there. A another employee gave me a neck massage while my nails were curing under the UV lights. She offered to wax my eyebrows, which I declined. The place was very clean, the instruments appeared to be sterilized. The owner repeated my name several times, thanking me as I left. If memory serves correctly, I paid $50 - $55 for both the gel manicure and pedicure. read more

Especially, I always get great message when I do pedicure....... they use shea butter and hot stone for the message. RUDE. AS. HELL. I've been a loyal customer there for about 15 years and have dealt with the owner/manager every time. She's nasty. And yesterday was the last straw. Tomorrow I am going to go in and tell her exactly how she offended me. I have gained weight through the years due to health issues, and she rubbed my stomach yesterday, inferring that I was pregnant. I will be 50 this year. There is literally no way. Secondly, my 17 year old daughter wanted to pay for our manicures and pedicures with a gift card that she received as a gift, and the nasty manager wouldn't let her because she alleged it was "expired". AND, she burned my daughter's eyebrows waxing them. The only reason I didn't let her have it in person yesterday is because I thought for sure I'd end up crying. I'm disgusted at their lack of personal service. Three of the ladies that work there are lovely, but this manager is the nastiest and most unprofessional person I have dealt with in a long time. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They are the best. The place is adorable and cleannnn! Every Essie color you could ever want. The owner and all the employees are so sweet and attentive. I had been going there for a year or so until I had my baby. I was so apprehensive about bringing her with me if I wanted to get a manicure, but mama needs a little me time! They are ALL so great and kind and understanding. Instead of looking at me like "can you do something about that fussing baby?" they all take turns entertaining her. What more could you ask for!? When I asked if they had time to do a mani/pedi, the woman working there acted like I was a bother and I stood awkwardly while she looked at her appointment book without ever saying a word to me...literally.
