I was visiting a friend yesterday in Ridgewood (mom of twin pre-schoolers) and we decided to give ourselves belated birthday gifts (our birthdays were last week, one day apart). Pedicures sounded good. She had been to this place for a quick massage a week prior (loved it), and decided to test out their spa pedicure. For each of us, $24 for the spa pedicure ($30 total if you add in a manicure, which I did; separately manicures are $11). We called ahead because we had children to pick up at precisely 2:30 (2 minutes late and the school is pissy; 5 minutes early, they can't go in--things have really changed since the 70's, when I walked to kindergarten without any chaperone). The woman who greeted us at the door was friendly, picked up our coats, and directed us to the back wall to choose colours. Being the reluctant urban hippie I am, I had my own stash of Acquarella and Honeybee polishes and remover. In the grace department, we failed miserably, instead reenacting a comedy scene trying not to fall over or bump butts while removing shoes & socks, cuffing pants past the knee. Feet soaking, massage chair running, moisturizing/exfoliating scrub applied to calves while toes were being made pretty. All implements were pulled from sterilizing jars or ovens. Scrub, pumice, buff, massage, spritz, another calf, foot, and toe massage before polishing. I should have gotten my nails done first, but decided on that after the pedicure. They didn't care. Hand massage, nail trim, massage, soak. My nails were buffed and evened out--I really wish I could get my fingers to look this good at home. When the toes and nails were drying, another massage was given to the shoulders (rolling) and back (whacking). Very nice. My friend had her brows waxed, and was surprised that there was zero pain. The only thing missing was a cloth-free toilet, something everyone should try once, and only once. It was one of the most relaxing pedicures I've ever had, and I got to be an honorary bubbie afterwards due to my silver glitter flip flops (the ones at the spa were far more tasteful--woven bamboo-like embroidered ones). On cold, dreary days, try walking around with a full-length faux-fur collared coat and silver flip flops--there's something exhilerating about it, or I was really really happy and relaxed. read more

I decided to give this place another shot because their pedicure massages are just so darn good. Unfortunately, the place still lacks cleanliness and, if anything, it's much more noticeable now than the initial review. This may not be a new thing but they use paper towels instead of actual towels for everything which is both wasteful and tacky. And after the person next to me finished her pedicure, the technician barely cleaned out the basin. I am cringing now just thinking about it. The polish was messy and so thick it took forever to dry and smudged before I made it home. Extremely disappointed. One star for the massage. Now I definitely won't be back. read more

I started going to this salon per recommendation from a friend. I really love JK Noble! The prices are affordable, $24 for a pedicure and $25 for a gel manicure, they are very attentive (give great massages during pedicure and when waiting for nails to dry during manicure) and I also love that they have a membership card. The membership is free, you earn points every-time you use the card, once you reach $11, then you can use that towards any service they have mani, pedi, waxing, etc. The only cons I have about this place is it's street parking. I've only gone on weekends, so I haven't had a problem, but I'm going tonight after work and I'll see how it is. Also as another comment said below, the staff is not very friendly. They do a great job on your nails, but they don't try to engage in conversation, they either are texting or chat with the other nail techs sitting beside them. I recently moved to the west coast, but I must write a review for this AWESOME AWESOME nail salon! I started going there when I adventured into gel manicures (shellac). I was referred by a friend. Every single one of their manicurists are FLAWLESS. There's one employee that has her nails done where each one is different and will showcase to give you ideas (so cool). My third visit I was with Tony -- ASK FOR HIM!!!!!!!! He is by far the best person ever, so professional, talks to you about everything, AND he entertained my shenanigans (sometimes I'm a chatterbox). He helps you choose if you can't decide, talks to you the whole time - AND gives the best massage at the end! Prices here are SO affordable too! Other places charge you $35 sometimes $40 for shellac mani - at JK it's only $25!!! And for the quality, it's a fabulous price!! I also used this salon for MY WEDDING!!! I had four bridesmaids and my mom come with me and the salon was very accommodating, didn't rush us, and all of the mani's and pedi's came out GORGEOUS!!!!! The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and they seem to know everyone by name. They do an excellent manicure and pedicure. (Some places I've been to you're in and out of the pedicure chair in 15-20 minutes flat, but at Noble Nails they really take their time massaging your legs & feet.) The Gel Manicures (w/ color) here are great as well. I've heard many people complain that the gel manicures that they get at other salons peel up off the nail but I've never had that problem at Noble Nails. I usually go every two weeks, sometimes I even stretch it to three and the gel manicure still looks perfect. They have a membership card for which they put a % of your purchase on it and once you hit $11 you can use it on any service you want. I'm easily skeeved out by some salons because they don't always look clean but Noble Nails is sparkling clean and beautifully decorated inside. They clean the pedicure tubs and tools after every service. Brian is really nice and does a great job! Ask for him! read more

I went to JK Noble for some waxing, based on the excellent reviews it got. Unfortunately, they did not live up to the glowing recommendations. I will say the young lady who did the eyebrow waxing was competent. She did a very good job, with very little pain. However, my true reason for my visit was a Brazilian wax. There ended up being 2 girls in the room, and neither seemed completely sure what to do. One was hell-bent on making it as painful as possible. When they decided they were done (and honestly I had had enough torture), they had only given me a basic bikini wax - and a poor one at that. The sides were uneven and lots of stragglers were left behind. Yet I was charged the full price for a Brazilian! To top it all off, there was more break-off of the hair at skin level then actual removal. I had hair growth stubble within 2 days. I would have had better results shaving! read more

I have been going to Noble Nails for the past couple months for gel manicures. For the first couple times, I had no issues and my polish lasted 2-3 week. However more recently my gel polish isn't lasting more than one week without chipping. It's been less than 2 weeks and three of my nails have already completely peeled off. I don't really like to give bad reviews but I have not been happy at all. I was also rushed through my manicure and was not able to relax. They have really great pedicure with a long massage that feels amazing! Make sure you have time when you go there the pedicure alone takes about an hour due to the longer massage so a manicure/pedicure can be about1.5 hours. The staff is friendly and nice plus they have a membership card. Only problem is if you go there when it is busy they rush and it can take a toll on the polish job. If it's busy go some where else. read more

RUDE. I have had a previous experience here years ago when someone commented on a family member size. We decided to give it a chance 6 years later, cannot believe how rude they were. They were talking about me and another customers feet and making fun of them in another language. They also take their own tip out when you go to pay. The pedicure is $24 and worth every penny. They are very thorough, and use lotions and oils, which you can't find everywhere. They offer a membership card which gives you credit back on every visit. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 stars is that the staff is very young and not super friendly. They are not rude or impolite, but they are mostly younger adults (probably college-aged) and they spend alot of time texting or chatting with each other. While with you, they are fine and attentive, but I don't appreciate the chatter all over the place when they are not busy. For an excellent pedicure, I'd definitely reccomend. The price is good, they cut the cuticles pretty well but the polish job was horrible. Half of each of my toes have no paint on them. There were 2 people working on me at once- which I hate but whatever. The woman doing my pedicure couldn't cut my cuticles or paint the nails so some man had to. This place is great! The staff are all friendly and very focused on their work. I got a gel manicure from Andy and he was meticulous. My nails look fabulous. After doing my nails he gave me a nice back rub :) Another plus - unlike other nail salons that get very noisy, the ambience was great and I was very relaxed. The prices are reasonable. Would not go back. The pedicure was bad. I had two different male operators for the mani and pedi. Both smelled like cigarette smoke. One was really creepy and I didn't want him to massage my neck. I have been coming to Noble Nails for a few years, but on and off as I don't usually get my nails done. I came here last year for a gel manicure and loved it, and about a month ago I went back for another gel manicure. I came on a Saturday evening around 5pm (they close at 6pm) and I was rushed the ENTIRE time. First of all, I asked the woman to square my nails. Guess what she does, makes them round! Next, she was rushing the whole time, taking about 30 mins in total to shape my nails, prepare them, and complete the entire gel manicure. Usually, a gel manicure takes no less than 45 mins. I was a little disappointed but did not say anything. I became increasingly upset with them because I had told her a simple request (to square my nails) and she had made them round. I called on the following Monday and asked to speak with the manager. I told him what had happened and he told me to come in so he could "fix them." The problem is, how was he going to shape my nails into a square after she had just rounded them? The only solution would be to let them grow out. So, I simply explained to him that I would just let this shape grow out. I decided to give them a second chance. I went back two and a half weeks later (my nails had not chipped or peeled off) on a Wednesday during the day. This time, I got a male worker. He seemed to be in no rush. After applying the acetone and tin foil on my nails to get the gel manicure off, he went to the front of the salon and was sitting there on his phone. About 15 mins later, he came back and started to take off the gels. I had told him to square my nails (which he did slightly better than the previous woman) but they were still rounded on the edges. I had asked him if he could put a layer of acrylic underneath the gel to ensure that my natural nails would not break, since they are pretty long. He did not seem to understand, but another woman (who was giving a customer a massage) understood. After speaking to each other for about one minute in their native language, the woman said "Oh, sorry, we cannot do that today." (meanwhile there were a total of 2 other women getting manicures at the time.) WOW! I did not realize that they can only do acrylics on certain days! I could see maybe if the salon was busy that they would not be able to, but it was 2pm and there was hardly anyone in there. I was polite about it and said that it was fine. He spent about an hour total on my nails. When I finally took a closer look at them when he was finished, he had gotten the polish on my cuticles on almost every nail! My only concern was that maybe he was new. He did take a while to apply the gel polish, but it was not even applied neatly. So far, it has been one week with this gel manicure on and it has not chipped or peeled. The only positive thing about this salon is that the polish seems to stay on for a while without chipping or peeling. In conclusion, I will NOT be going back here. My nails have yet to grow out of their rounded shape and the polish is very messily applied. I cannot wait another week or two so I can go to a professional salon and get my nails done professionally. read more

I went here for over 5 years and it used to be a great place. After a few unpleasant experiences recently, I decided to go elsewhere to get a gel manicure. This weekend I decided to give them one more try because I felt guilty leaving them after so long. I made an appointment with my usual manicurist. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment. The staff ignored me and took several people who walked in after me while I was waiting. I did not see my regular manicurist but thought maybe she was in the back. 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time another manicurist asked me if I was waiting because I wanted a manicure. I explained that I had an appointment with a certain employee. He informed me that she doesn't work on weekends and didn't know why someone made the appointment. Turns out that was a lie, she doesn't work there at all anymore. He then told me he could do my nails. When I sat down he informed me he was short on time because he had another appointment which would mean my nails would be rushed. This is poor service all around, especially towards a longtime customer. I decided to leave without getting my nails done and will not be going back. read more

Their pedicures are the best, the foot massage is great. Their gel manicure is very lacking. The do a terrible job on your cuticles, they don't push them back until after they put on the polish. Therefore, in just a few days you can see the new growth. Also, they don't use CND shellac base coat, when it was removed my nails were a mess underneath. I was a constant customer for years as this place, as was many of my family members and friends, because of the recommendation I would always give. I have stopped going for about a year because I was extremely disappointed in how the place turned all the sudden. It was always packed (which is good for them) but i felt rushed and I felt the workers and the owner especially got extremely rude. He would not accommodate and had a bad attitude every time I would call or go in and they could not do a service for you. They lost my business plus 4 others as well because of their attitudes and lack of a good pedicure and manicure like they used to. read more
