imply called A Smile Resort representing my girl friend Amy, looking to reach Dr. Zimmerman who I feel is a very thorough and qualified dentist BUT, whoever answered the phone had a very obnoxious tone and although Dr. Zimmerman is predominately listed as a primary dentist at this office, I was told, very rudely, that he is "fully retired" and I could not be provided any means to reach him. I met him at Quality Dentures in Palatka less than a year ago where he worked. When I asked "The Smile Resort" why he is listed as their dentist on their website, the lady said "because he had worked there for a long time." This information does not add up and appears to be misleading. If you are looking for a dental office that at least seems to care about you as a potential customer/patient, steer clear. The receptionist was very nasty and who knows what doctors actually work there since I was told Dr. Zimmerman does not and he is the first doctor that shows up on their website. Attached is a photo of a dental treatment plan created by Dr. Zimmerman on June 20, 2024 as a dentist for Palatka - Quality Dentures and Implants which, by the way, has changed names to "Harbour Dental" in order to avoid providing paid in full dentures to several patients (steer clear of that office too and look for my review to explain why). So how has Dr. Zimmerman worked for "The Smile Resort" for "a long time" if he provided a dental treatment plan from another dental office less than a year ago, hmmm? Myself and my girl friend has had terrible experiences at 4 Florida dental practices so far. Soooo sad. We have lost time, money, and most importantly have fallen victim to very bad dental recommendations that will result in very expensive dental solutions. Do your research and get several recommendations before any dental choice you need to make. Do everything you can to save teeth and prevent letting them take the fast, easy money and pulling teeth leaving you with the only option of implants or dentures. Please note, I fully support Dr. Zimmerman from the little experience that I had with him and this should not reflect on him in any way. Also note (to be perfectly fair) Yelp would not let me remove "oh no, what could improve?" "Type of care" or "care quality". I only had a bad 3xperience with the receptionist tone and attitude over the phone when I was initially very nice and respectful, complimenting Dr. Zimmerman. After the woman's rude tone persisted, I let her know just how unprofessional and disrespectful her tone was and someone made a mistake letting her be the point of contact with an attitude like that taking calls as a representative of their company. Most business receive business by word of mouth and I've needed a not good but great dentist for years! I was over the chain dentist offices not that there aren't good dentist but I wanted that office feel from back in the day with 1 maybe 2 dentist in an office and I have that with Dr. Zimmerman and his staff. I had a friend refer me and although I didn't want to take the drive let me say it's worth it. I cannot recall the last time I've had a great dentist. Dr. Zimmerman is absolutely amazing, I cannot say enough great things about this dentist and his office. I haven't had a dentist to really go into depth with me about what was going on with my dental care the way Dr. Zimmerman has. He's patient, kind, great bedside manner and he listens to your concerns as a patient. He explain and explain again to ensure you have an understanding. I wish I'd found him years ago maybe I wouldn't require so much work but I found him just in time. I had a surgical procedure a couple days ago and the comfort I received I just can't express. His nurse even called me the next day to check on me. I love the small office feel and he's the only doc in the office. The hygienist is also amazing. I am a licensed dental hygienist with 24+ years of experience. I will only allow my family to see Dr. Zimmerman for our dental care. Recently my 23-year son had a fall that fractured three front teeth. Dr. Zimmerman answered my emergency call late on a Sunday and saw my son the next day. He saved one of the teeth with a chair-side veneer and fabricated beautiful temporary crowns for his two front teeth. My son and I were at ease knowing his permanent crowns would be natural and perfect. I want to express my thanks for a fantastic job on my son's teeth and the amount of time and attention to detail. Worst experience ever! The composite bonding that has been done on my front tooth by dr. Olexandra Ovsiy, started turning yellow only after couple of days, then became loose and fell off. I tried to contact them about the issue. I emailed twice, they just ignored me and never responded. While I was under sedation for tooth extraction, she rushed to put dental bonding in without consulting with me. Afterwards, I asked her "I hope this is not going to stain"? I let her know I needed this to match with the rest of my teeth that are zirconium veneers. I found out later from another dentist that the quality depends on the brand and structure of composite resin as well on the training and experience.. After my complaint, they blamed it on me. If a dentist can not take responsibility for their work- dont trust them. I find them overpriced, dishonest, poor quality, not trustworthy and unprofessional. Dr Zimmerman is and has been my dentist going on 30 years. He caters to Cowards, I know because that's me. I had such bad dentists while growing up, as a child all they did was pull teeth. I went to Dr Z office and that changed my life. A Smile shows confidence. Dr Z fixed my teeth for me and was willing work with on payment plan back in 1990. He could have made money off of me by grinding down teeth and putting in bridges but he Didn't. He recommended braces to pull teeth straight and move forward. This not only decrease the gaps between my teeth, it allowed room for my bottom wisdom teeth. I live in Fleming Island and I drive to Dr Z because he is a GREAT dentist, he has never hurt me, and he is Honest. If your afraid of the dentist, Dr Zimmerman is the dentist you need. I honestly think this is the BEST place for all of your dental needs. Everyone is super professional and pleasant (Olivia was awesome), place was mega clean, and they fit me in their schedule quickly. I called 2 other places first, it took one of them 2 days to call back and the other still hasn't returned my call. Dr. Zimmerman is so nice and definitely knows what he's doing. I have seriously always been uncomfortable at the thought of going to the dentist. Now, I'm pretty happy to. 5 stars for a dentist, people!! What does that tell you? I want to update this just a bit. On the night of December 22nd I had an accident and broke about 50% of one of my front teeth. I ran to the bathroom and upon seeing my snaggletooth I wasn't thinking "ouch, this hurts," or anything like that. I was thinking "How am I supposed to propose to the love of my life on Christmas Eve looking like a Harry Potter villain?" Luckily my girlfriend is a patient of Dr. Z's. His office was closed, but Dr. Z. agreed to come in on 12/23 to fix my tooth as a favor to one of his favorite patients (he was clueless about the pending engagement). I have extreme dental phobia, but Dr. Z's personality set me at ease right away; he is equal parts funny, compassionate, and professional. Because of my dental phobia I usually get treated under the spell of the magical gas. However, I was so afraid that I'd get too loose lipped about my Christmas Eve plans that I declined the gas. Luckily, Dr. Z was both gentle and informative throughout the entire procedure and I can't remember being so comfortable with my mouth open for over an hour. Even though Dr. Z informed me the procedure would only be a temporary fix, he took the time and energy to make sure colors matched and even asked my girlfriend (fiancé now) if his work matched what my teeth looked like before the accident and then made a little adjustment. I am so happy that my wife-to-be is so much smarter than me (I was going to go to a corporate dental factory) and is a patient of Dr. Z. Because of Dr. Z's generosity I was able to smile on one of the most memorable and important nights of my life. Because of the care he provided while I was sitting in his chair I will never get dental care anywhere else. Love the dentist? That would be strange but this is as good as it gets. I've had several dentists and Dr. Z. is the best, hands down! He understands that I am a big coward and is very patient with me. And most importantly, he is a perfectionist, which I like in a dentist. I've been going to him for years and will continue. Simply AMAZING The office staff ate friendly and very professional- but also know how to have a sense of humor ! Always quick to return calls and get me in at the last minute - I come all the way from the Bahamas to get my teeth taken care of by Dr Z and his team.
