Having lived in an operating room for 40 years, I could easily see his confidence and professionalism. At the same time, he is very personable. those two don't always go together. The IR team was just that, Anna & Randy work very well together. The nursing team was great! Kurt, Evan, & Emily were very caring. They quickly put me at ease. I'm very impressed With the entire team!

At no point was I told that the procedure was not covered by Blue Cross, and that I will be charged $4,500 out of pocket. Had I been given honest and transparent information from the beginning, I would have made a different medical and financial decision and chosen the secondary surgery, which is covered by Blue Cross. Patients deserve full informed consent, including clear financial disclosure before undergoing procedures. Instead, they went about like it was covered, going as far as putting in the claim and then appealing the claim, when they knew it would NEVER be covered. Then they told me to appeal it which caused weeks of stress and frustration only to be told by Blue Cross that "the appeal date had passed five months ago" (which the doctors office knew). So overall I felt pressured into a costly procedure without being told that it wasn't covered, then lied to about the appeals and charged without any disclosers or conversations. I have had 5 surgeries before and I'm always responsible for the copay and deductibles. Never have I ever had this kind of situation. This experience caused unnecessary stress, frustration, and financial burden for months. Transparency and patient trust matters, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. Be sure your surgery is covered by your insurance before signing anything and make sure they are transparent about pricing!!!!

Apparently No Cameras or Mobile Phone Cameras are permitted. And they recommend you leave jewelry at home. Well on this occasion I actually wore my smart watch and still have my phone. Uh oh! Well let's see where that takes us. So this is the second of three anticipated procedures. This day i was impatiently sitting in reception area waiting for appointment to actually be welcomed into the backroom to begin the routine. Since I had gone through the procedure on one leg already I felt a bit more at ease. Did wish I could have been an early morning patient. My man with the Alice in Wonderland cocktails the first time was great. The person handling that job when my right leg was done wasn't quite the same. But overall it wasn't a bad experience. Need to add, the doc has a pleasant bedside manner and I do recall a nice smile as well. Something I said must've made him grin. My legs are showing visible improvement and discomfort from sitting in some seats has noticably diminished.

She stalled me with repeated ultrasounds, for 2 months, until the window for these procedures had closed. When confronted, she confessed that she had no hospital privileges to perform these procedures. Why didn't she disclose that the first visit? She proposed bilateral iliac stents in her little office suite. But, I would have tp pay out of pocket because she has rent to pay. This sounded fishy to me, so I sought a second opinion, and professional ultrasounds. My iliacs are wide open and my DVT is beyond salvage. I will never understand why she strung me along until it was too late. Now, I am left impaired for life. Thanks for nothing Dr. Thorpe. You literally did nothing.

That mistake could have killed me and I am incredibly lucky it did not. Once I was out of the hospital and still feeling like something was not right and I was not progressing and healing I had additional scans. With those scans in hand I came to Pulse for a second opinion. They completed my first procedure on the right leg Memorial Day weekend- by Sunday my right leg already felt 1000% better. I am so happy and pleased with the level of experience, expertise and care that I received. I mattered as a patient and was not just a number to churn through. The Doctors and staff at this establishment are nothing short of amazing and I will gladly trust this with all of my vascular needs.

I found out this information from the new vascular surgeon I chose for a follow-up appointment as requested by Modern Vascular. They have had me as a patient for a few years, but I got suspicious after so many angioplasties and their request that I get another. So I went with a different surgery center for my ultrasounds, and surprise surprise, I don't need angioplasty in either leg. Luckily, I don't believe any great harm was done to me.

They have a sign posted at the front desk stating "Our Valued Patients and Family Members - At this time when the news is dominated by COVID-19, we want to let you know that we are vigilantly implementing enhanced protocols to ensure your safety". It goes on to say they're monitoring and implementing recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control. From what I saw, nothing could be farther from the truth. I saw no social distancing, no germ abatement techniques being used, and no cleaning supplies available in the waiting area nor at the front desk (I asked for them). Keeping in mind the nature of this practice, their clientele are elderly. There was no temperature monitoring before entry into the crowded waiting room (it is relatively small). The other 3 doctors I've taken my mother to in the past 8 weeks ALL required temperature checks - without them you could not enter their buildings. As it should be! There were 3 staff sitting at the small reception desk, each one being only 2 to 3 feet apart. Throughout the time we were there, no one was even remotely attempting to keep 6 feet apart. None of the many staff I saw wore a mask! The door leading from the waiting room into the examination area required using a door handle. When I asked the reception attendees if they had disinfecting wipes so I could clean the handle, they said they did not. Where are those "vigilant enhanced protocols"? They're not even following the basic recommendations when no one is social distancing, no one is wearing a mask, and there are no readily available cleaning supplies in a small reception area of a business that is processing a high volume of extremely at-risk patients? Unbelievably irresponsible and putting those patients lives at risk if you ask me! We left without services, of course.

So far so good. I can only comment on the initial consultation, ultrasound and few EVLT treatments…read more I have been putting off fixing my varicose veins for a decade (thanks hereditary). Any hoo, I searched around and found a few doctors. Then I double check three top doctors in the East Valley with someone who used to do these Ultrasounds. She hands down recommended Dr. Favata. She even told me that the Dr. had fixed her mom's botched attempt at fixing her varicose veins. I cancelled my other consultations and booked with VIP. I didn't even realize how close this location was to my house. Office is located in the back of professional park. There is plenty of parking. VIP is located on second floor but they have an elevator for those that need it. Front office staff are friendly and help. VIP has very modern technology to remind you of your appointments. From consulation to ultrasound the timing has been pretty quick. Dr. Favata took a lot time to meet with me for consultation and explain on the things that I would need if I decided to move forward with Evlt. Dr. Favata even recommened alternative medical compression stockings to suit my budget that I could access off Amazon (Absolute). I had an Ultrasound a few days later. Sam was great. He was very thorough and professional. Sam not only has been doing this for several years he is a joy to talk too. Sam was great about sharing his knowledge of what he was doing and making me feel very comfortable. So Ultrasound would have been quick but I almost fainted. That was my bad but Sam came to the resuce and got me seated and water. Also a nice ice pack helped me be able to power through the last 5 mintues of the test. Within thirty minutes of the Ultrasound, I had results and a treatment plan. Amy went through all the tough stuff with me but it was pretty inline with the doctors initial visual inspection. However we discovered that my veins were much larger than they thought which made them pretty surprise that I wasn't in more pain. Honestly my legs just get very tired and itchy...but lately they feel heavy. I am hoping when we get done with the last procedure I can get back to Jabz Kickboxing quickly. So I am set to do three different types of procedures. 1st EVLT 2nd Sclerotherapy (foam) and 3rd Phlebotomy one vein has to be killed (let it get to big). I am half way through and cant wait to ditch the compression stocking 24/7. As to procedure EVLT, not horrible but it is an outpatient surgery. Doesn't hurt, alittle uncomfortable 24 hour later but no crazy pain. Worst part is the showers, or as I like to call them "whore baths" becuse trying to keep your bandage dry is a whole different discussion. Also big shout out to Billing Manager for getting my insurance to review my file sooner than later. I must of called her no less than 10x over the holiday three day weekend. Also shout out to Abby for being so nice. I am sure by the time I update this I will have lots of shout out to all of Dr. Favata's staff. Dr. Favata runs a tight ship. She is very particular about her staff, instructions and treatment. She is not here for the malpractice games. Therefore don't expect a rush treatmant plan. While the treatments don't take long she doesnt want to cause to much trauma to your body and I can appreciate that. So far. No brusing and no major scarring. If you need some help in this area, definitely come see her. I like that fact that she is younger but so professional/consistent. Dr. Favata is dedicated to her craft and so far really offers VIP service. Update to come when I am fully healed. Maybe a while because my insurance may change before I can get everything done. We will see. I do plan on finishing the whole treatment plan though because these veins were killing my vibe.

Dr. Favata's excessive and unnecessary 10 sessions of EVLT killed the most important veins in my leg and now I suffer from venous insufficiency. I heard by one of her technicians that the bigger the veins more foam is needed. I realized by treating large veins and charging the Insurance companies more money they make. It is a scam. Lack of Knowledge, incompetent technicians for Cat scan, prescribed unnecessary 10 sessions of EVLT that killed innumerous veins of my upper and lower legs including saphena and other lower and upper leg veins causing irreversible circulatory insufficiency. One of my greatest regrets in life is ever meting dr kelly favata.
