Turns out that my old 325i 2005 BMW had its water pump fail and the owner of this very busy import car repair shop here in Clarksville,TN has gone so out of his way to be a great Good Samaritan. Not only did Thomas, the owner, fit me in to do this repair on a day he gave his people off to watch the eclipse, he put me to the top of the list, charging me about a third of what it would cost me at the dealership in Nashville some 90 miles away, and installed me in his air conditioned waiting room with a couple of bottles of ice cold water. So my buddy came here to get his bmw fixed for one or two problems everything on the car is practically brand new. but they kept milking him for money and his engine light is still on and charges him over 500 dollars when there was an initial and set price for fixing that one or two problems for his car. then they had the gall to come back with additional "problems" knowing full well it wasn't necessary to replace and messing with everything else that had nothing to do with the problem and didn't even fix his car. what type of place are you guys running it's bullshit. read more

We love the service here. Many times they have done work on daughters car & they are honest people who have done everything possible to keep the cost down. Even helping us upgrade her radio because the original had a parasite that was draining the battery. He told me where I could order it online for much less than stores & they would install for a one hour labor cost. One repair to her oil leaks was done and when she got home we discovered a lot of oil on garage floor. I called on the weekends & left messages. They actually called me & sent 2 guys to our house to check why it was leaking. Turns out something was loose. We highly recommend them for BMW service work. read more

I would like to start off by saying, please never let this shop work on your car. By me being in the customer service industry for over 30 years, I do my best not to be in any way "critical" of a business in which I do business with, doing my best to keep an open mind. But this shop was so egregious with their poor service that I received. I have to speak out and alert the public. After paying over $1200 in parts and labor for 1 bad shock I was rudely hung up on by the owner for simply stating my concerns about the work he had done. After he replaced one air shock the other three malfunctioned after three days and now none of them will work. All of them functioned fine before I took it to him and I only had him replace the one as preventative maintenance. After letting him know what was going on and bringing it back to him he accused me of causing the problem. Not only did he he insult me like I done something wrong he charged me for causing me more problems than I had before taking it to him. Anyone would deserve so much better service than that. read more

Great shop. I was so frustrated with the dealership due to the cost and drive to Nashville, that I just wanted to get rid of my 2009 335. Then I found Modified Imports off of a friends recommendation. It's a small shop but they are pretty quick and have a very reasonable hourly rate. These guys are all over it. Never go here! This place is a complete ripoff. I took my 2009 Subaru in because the engine had blown up. They talked me into getting a rebuild as my best option. Rebuild cost $4200 which I was more than willing to pay. They gave me the car back and it sounded like a lawn mower. It had a knock to it which he said was normal on this model...cool. I paid them and went on my way. Within two weeks the check engine light came on throwing a misfire in cylinder 3 and 4. I took it back to them and they said my plug wires and possibly ignition coil needed to be replaced. I replaced the plug wires, and that did not alleviate the problem. I then replaced the ignition coil too as directed. The light kicked on again after a day of being reset and showed the same codes as before. I took it back to them to check on it, and he then told me that the spark plugs had a compression leak and he had replaced all 4 plugs. I drove it away and the engine light kicked on no more than 5 minutes down the road. I took it right back and let them know and he said the ignition coil probably needed to be replaced. I had already done that once per his directions and he fed me some line about faulty parts from the manufacturer I purchased the coil from since I didn't purchase it from one of their vendors. Now I may not know a lot about engines, but it seems to me if they test drove this vehicle that they would have noticed that the car hadn't been fixed. I took it back after replacing the plug wires and coil a second time because the engine codes were still flashing after reset. He then called me within two hours and stated that it was fixed and I could come pick it up. I was frustrated by this point as my warranty was almost over so I asked him what he did. He stated that he cleaned the throttle body which I had done the week before. I then threatened litigation and they all of the sudden were ready to take the entire engine apart again and actually check it. Go figure. He had been pushing me off for months making me replace things multiple times, miss work, and claimed that it wasn't the engine only to find out it was. They said that they would have to keep the car for a week and a half since they had to wait for the parts which turned out to be two+ weeks. I finally got it back and it was running smooth for about the first day, and then it started shaking. By the second day I was going up a hill and I heard a loud metal pop followed by my engine light coming on with the 2 cylinders misfiring again. I went back to them and they had finally run me out of my warranty period and said that it absolutely wasn't the engine and that they would not look at it under warranty again. I would not recommend anyone take their car to this hack shop. Thomas and his staff have the absolute worst customer service skills, and on top of that, they cant fix a car as far as they could throw one. Luckily, about half way through this ordeal, I had the sense enough to start recording my phone calls and all interactions with them. At one point it can be heard him telling me that the only thing that could cause a misfire is the plugs, wires, or coil and nothing else. This is just blatant disrespect for me and my warranty and I have video taped them multiple times telling me that there was no way it could be the engine. Turns out, it is. That being said, I cannot wait to have my day in court and watch this man shell out more money in lawyer fees and court costs not to mention the secondary repairs that I have had to make because of his screw-ups. I really hope no one makes the same mistake I did and go to this shop. Their BBB rating is an F, too bad I found out too late. read more

We have a 2010 E-Class Benz and needed a Kompressor for the Hydrolic system on my car i found Modified Imports Repairs & thought id give em a Try. I was kinda worried because the shop does look Fancy at all lol but when you walk in the owner has a Awesome Team. They were very Transparent about the cost and where to save on the parts if we couldnt afford top end parts. Also if you dont know expect to pay for diagnostic test it was worth it for me because, they found all the issues on my car so if you dont get it just know its only helping not hurting. Anyway Overall i think these Guy are very well versed in Imports they fixed my kompressor & i never had a problem Since. They did a excellent job on my Service A as well so i been back a few times & out of respect for Local Shops who dont get enough credit these guys Earn it! I highly Recommend Modified imports to those who want a quality shop with a quality team to take care of your car? Nashville Benz Dealership in Franklin cost double i encourage you to shop around this was my review from our own experience but if you cant find a good shop check them out. Took my 2002 Porsche 911 to Modified Imports in Clarksville Tn the Summer of 2013. Thomas told me this would be a three week job after he had me transfer $2000 to his bank account pull the engine. He said it needed rebuilt. He decided to send the engine to a "friend" in CA which is not that uncommon for a Porsche 911 motor. This was going to take 4-8 weeks and I had to transfer $8000 more to him. Months went by. After 8weeks I was begging Thomas to just reply to me ( I live three hours away). I would have to call from different number just to get him to answer. I ask from the beginning where he sent the motor. He mumbled "Mr Motor" in southern CA. I couldn't find it on a google search. Months went by with me waiting weeks after he would say he would get back the next day. I demanded he tell me where he sent the motor. He finally admitted Motor Meister ( goggle that place for fun). This was the only place on earth I knew better than to send a motor from reading reviews. It was there while they closed for good . He lost my motor. It took sever weeks and begging to get him to replace it. He replaced it with a used motor. He said he had a motor with 41k and would up grade the ims bearing for extra money. Because this motor is a lot to risk without the bearing I said to put it in. He said I would have a month warranty and a year option for $1000. I wanted the year warranty option of course. Then he asked if I could pick up the car and motor and take it somewhere. I laughed. I though he was joking!!! He wasn't. I said no I'd like to at least drive it off. A few days passed. On December 17th he told me it was ready and to bring the final payment of $2k. He also told me the year warranty was not an option now (that was nice for HIM to decide after keeping my car for half a year). I get there with my dad that was going to drive one car back. My car was running but missing and spitting. He said it was a vacuum line and if I could waste an hour in Clarksville. Two hours later it was ready. At that point I forget to get paper work for the information promised on the used motor having 41k miles and the ims I paid for. This was my big mistake. I text him on the way home and ask him to email it. He never replied. Check engine light came on the next week. It was in my local shop and out and back in. Two months go by like this and it started knocking. It was hauled to Jackson to a Import shop and he told me I had a bad engine. Every Porsche repair shop I called nation wide told me if it was knocking it would cost $9k-$20 to repair. I called Thomas he said he washed his hands of this and when I ask for documentation on the work he said It was in his filing cabinets I told him I would drive 3 hours right away and get them and he said they were actually at his accountants office and couldn't get them. I have no price of any of his claimed work. I have all of our text messages. I do have proof I've transferred $13k to Thomas. read more
