In summary - the local team is great and we had a good experience with them, nice clean offices…read more Their logistics teams and cooperation across CarMax locations, however, definitely needs some work. Scenario: We purchased a vehicle from CarMax and it was in Columbus, OH. We paid the transfer fee to have it brought to Louisville. It took 2+ weeks, multiple phone calls and follow-ups, and several false starts to actually get it transferred. The local team reimbursed the transfer fee and did what they could to make it right. Corporate CarMax, help these guys out and fix how your departments work together to support your local teams who are in front of customers.

I have previously purchased cars from CarMax so I went back........Big mistake! I was greeted at…read morethe door and I was asked? Are you working with any salesperson? I said No so the gentleman said "well I can help you. I knew what I wanted to test drive so I explained to this salesperson and he retrieved the vehicle from its place on the lot. He didn't tell me he had to jump start it........ I test drove the vehicle and they evaluated my trade in. During the test drive I asked the salesperson what route people usually take. He told me he was new to the area and didn't know the streets. (You would have thought that was part of the training!) After the test drive I was told how much my trade was valued so I agreed and completed the paperwork for the purchase. After completing the paperwork I was waiting for the car to be brought up to the area where I could drive off. However........the car wouldn't start. The battery was dead. So the salesperson told me I could pick up the car the following day - they would replace the battery. He explained that service would have it ready when they opened at 10:00am. I arrive at 10:00 to complete the sale and pick up the car............I have my vehicles titled in my revocable trust. So the person in the business office asked me if my Wife was with me? I told her No it wasn't necessary. She then told me it was necessary. Another person in the office actually looked at my "Certificate of trust" to see that I am a Trustee and either Trustee can sign! (Again, you would think people in the business office would be trained!) Then I was told the car wasn't ready............they requested I go get a late breakfast! They admitted to not knowing the car needed service. Needless to say I could not understand how a Customer buying a Major Asset would be treated this way! I left before I said something unpleasant. While having my "late breakfast" I received a text telling me they ordered a battery and were waiting on it to be delivered! They would contact me after the Service Dept installed the battery. Needless to say I did not buy the car. WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER ! I left and went to Bachman Hyundai in Jeffersonville and purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe.

I just watched the owner Bruce Mattingly remove posters that a mother put up trying to find justice…read morefor her murdered daughter rip down her flyers from poles near his business that he does not own. This was heartless, lacked compassion and was cruel as the mother confronted him politely and he was unnecessarily rude and unempathetic. Its ironic that this a family owned business and they would treat their community member this way. I thought you should know that before buying a car here. I like to buy products from companies who share my morals and values and when they are family owned it implies they are about families, apparently not the case. I'd love to see Bruce turn that around and offer to hang up some flyers for her and send a nice donatiom for information leading to the arrest of the ppl who unalived this womans daughter! That is community. That is heart! That is the right thing to do!

I strongly advise against doing business with Team Automotive. When deciding where to spend money,…read morethe ethics and character of a business's leadership matter immensely, and the recent actions of the owner, Bruce Mattingly, demonstrate a profound lack of empathy and basic human decency. Local law enforcement recently verified that Mr. Mattingly illegally removed and vandalized awareness flyers placed on public property. These flyers were not an attack on his establishment; they were part of a grieving community's desperate effort to seek justice for two tragically murdered teenagers, 17-year-old Tiara Manica and 18-year-old Navayah. Compounding this tragedy is the fact that the individual who admitted to killing these young women was employed at this very shop under Mr. Mattingly's management. By actively choosing to tear down these flyers, the owner hindered a plea for justice. It is clear this was done to shield his business's reputation--and consequently, the reputation of a confessed murderer--from public association. It is deeply disturbing to witness a business owner prioritize profit and public image over a profound community tragedy. No one should support an establishment led by someone so apathetic to the loss of innocent life. I urge anyone reading this to take their business to owners who value the law and human decency over the money in their wallets. Justice for Tiara Manica and Navayah.
