I used to be a regular customer at Moe's Southwest Grill in Hamilton, but unfortunately, this visit was enough to put them on my personal ban list. While eating, I found a hair in my salsa. It completely ruined my meal and made me lose confidence in the restaurant's cleanliness and food preparation standards. Something as basic as preventing hair from ending up in a customer's food should never be overlooked. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this location based on my experience. I hope management takes food safety and quality control more seriously so no one else has to go through the same thing. read more

On my first visit to Moe's Southwest Grill I ordered a Burrito. When picked it up I was excited at the weight of the bag since it only contained 1 burrito, salsa and chips. When I got home, I found that the burrito I built was nothing more than a large flour tortilla filled with virtually nothing but RICE! Almost no beef, beans, cheese, or pico... JUST RICE. Moe's has always has good food and a good selection to choose from. Rather you want a burrito, a burrito bowl, a salad it's all good. The meat selection is delicious as are the toppings, and the best part is unlimited chips. If you run out of chips just go to the counter and ask for more and they'll give you plenty of refills. This is a fun place to go to and has a good salsa bar. The ambiance is overall good too with the decorations and the quietness of the place. What is also nice is how this moe's also is partly a Carvel's ice cream so you can get ice cream here too with whatever toppings you want as well. This Moe's is like the others I have eaten at. The people at this location are friendly enough. FREE chips come with each meal that you order. I got 1 crunchy taco and a chicken bowl. I was really happy with my meal. The lady who first took my order assumed I wanted brown rice instead of the cilantro & lime rice. She just asked me if I wanted rice and beans in a very rushed, mumbled tone and I said yes. She then proceeded to choose the brown rice and black beans for me instead of asking me which rice I would prefer. I stuck with the brown rice but if given the opportunity would have gone for the cilantro/lime rice. That was the only downside to the visit. She seemed like she was in a trance making bowls and just kept assuming people were going to choose the same brown rice and black beans. My friend stopped her flow after I got my order in and asked her if he could have the cilantro/lime rice. She paused and said "Oh okay, sure" and then proceeded to push our orders to the next person so we could customize it. I got extra cilantro in my bowl to make up for the brown rice and enjoyed my bowl with all of ny preferred additions and Moe's signature green tomatillo salsa nonetheless. read more

Multiple time this place has gotten my order wrong, including forgetting extra ingredients paid for and even double charging my cc online and not fixing the problem. Spoke to manager/owner multiple times and refused to credit back my card and too cheap to remedy the situation by giving me a new order. Recently the manager even hung up the phone on me. Grabbed takeout from here today, and I have to update my review with a lower rating (by one star). First, the service was perfect - we ordered online, our food was ready by the time they told us, and everything in the order was correct. That being said, the food is just not that good! I'm not sure how else to say it - neither my wife nor I enjoyed our meals at all. My burrito was pretty much flavorless and it felt like the ingredients weren't mixed together well. I got guacamole for myself but I'm not even sure I tasted it. And I have to repeat (from my earlier review) - why is it the case that Moe's doesn't offer a variety of salsas for their burritos? Sure, you can get pico or corn salsa, but I need something hot, or at least medium. They have the salsa available for the chips, so why don't they offer it as a filling in the online menu? Anyway, rant over. My wife was also underwhelmed by her burrito. I don't think we'll be back, which is frustrating because the service is good and the location is closer than some competitors. I used to come here for lunch every for like a year they have gotten worse and worse over time. Started off with them giving me basically no meat ect very small bowls. On the website it says they close at 9:30 so I got there at 9:05 and the employee refused to make anything and said they were closed. They were not apologetic in any way if any was rude. Not as family friendly as it once was. Quality is still ok but a few things have transpired lately. 1. They've increased their prices. 2. Portion sizes are smaller. Given the quality competition of Bubakoo's and My Quate along the Route 33 Hamilton strip, this is not a wise business approach. The appeal of Moe's was its prices. Welcome to....long wait and flavorless veggie bowl. This is one of those restaurants where you get in line and they make it as you walk down the line (just like the other restaurant that rhymes with Quixote). The customer service from the male manager was outstanding. He was beaming with a smile like he actually loved his customers and his job. That's kind of where the great ends. I ordered the veggie bowl which was quickly prepared. I then waited and waited and waited to pay. While I did I witnessed a food handler drop some sour cream on the counter and then using her gloved hand wipe it off. Do you think she changed her glove before handling other food. No!!! Thank goodness mine was already done. I think she was on the chip station anyway. Once my clean-shaven face grew a beard waiting to pay, I sat to enjoy my bowl. With all the goodies in it I was surprised that it was so bland. I decided to add a couple of different salsa's. Nope, still bland. I then added chips. How, when you add bland chips to a bland meal it doesn't magically produce a good-tasting meal. Lesson learned. I've been to other Moe's and had good experiences so I won't give up. Moe's is to real Tex/Mex, what Red Baron is to real pizza - Not even close! I don't mean that it is bad per se, because the ingredients are decent and the outcome has a passing resemblance to authentic TexiMexi; it's just that the ultimate experience was somewhat hollow if you know what the real stuff can do. My Homewrecker, wasn't. It was simply a large burrito wrapped in a premade tortilla that held chicken, black beans, rice, lettuce, pico, cheese, and jalapeno slices. Although the chicken was ostensibly grilled, this gordito was cooler than room temperature when consumed. I would have much preferred a hot tortilla and warm innards. Didn't happen. It wasn't any fun to eat, even if it was healthy and filling. The accompanying chips were run of the mill mass produced corn crisps. The only spark of creativity came from the Salsa Bar, which had a few interesting options. The Cranberry Salsa was refreshingly good. Given the ever growing number of Mexican, Guatemalan, Salvadoran restaurants springing up in Trenton and Hamilton, Moe better hope that enough people are either afraid to go to those real places, or happy to partake of the neutered platters he puts out. As for me, I am too far gone on the authentic comidas de America Centrale to ever find this place satisfying. read more

Long story short: i won't be back. This was my first time ever eating at a Moe's, and my first time visiting this location. I ordered a burrito bowl to-go with white rice, chicken, queso, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. I then waited in line for over 10 minutes to pay, with only 3 people in front of me. For the first few minutes the cashier was standing at the register doing nothing...not sure if she was a new employee, but she definitely looked lost. I was also really confused by the Carvel Ice Cream section inside the Moe's store...? When i got home with my food, the chicken was bland and tough, the rice was completely undercooked and literally got stuck in my teeth, the lettuce was limp, old and brown, and the cheese was flavorless. 10/10 would NOT recommend, i will not return. read more

I ordered through the website last week and when I got To the store to pick up it went downhill from there. It took about 10 minutes to get my food after it was ordered about 30 minutes prior. When I finally received my food, I explained to the cashier that my drink was wrong. I ordered a bottled soda not a fountain soda, she then asked for help by the manager I am guessing. He asked me what the problem was and I explained and showed him the receipt on the bag. He then took the bag and set it down behind the counter, he said "I guess I can change it for you". Once he fixed the problem he left the drink carrier behind the counter and walked away. Keep in mind it says employees only behind this point. So I asked if he was going to hand that to me and he said I guess. I was very annoyed at this point. What kind of customer service is this. I get back to work, sit down to eat to realize he never handed me back my bag with the other half of my food in it. I had to go back to the store and get it. However, the guys attitude changed for sure and he was really trying to be Mr. Nice guy now, I'm assuming he sensed how pissed off I was by the horrible customer service. GREAT SERVICE. TALKING ABOUT THE HAMILTON MOES. I walked in at exactly 930 on a Wednesday march 29th not knowing they were closed. They said they were closed and as I was walking out, one of the managers said "wait we can help you". very kind woman didn't want to send us home with no moes. they stayed 10 minutes past closing time and made us 2 quesadillas, and let me tell you something that quesadilla was AMAZING. great experience very cool 10/10 read more

I would say without a doubt that Moe's is far superior to their competitors in terms of quality and flavor. I'd prefer them over chipotle any day if the week !! I love Moe's. Quick, easy, and delicious. I think that I always get exactly what I expect when I come here. Quick Mexican that is pretty simple but I know that walking in. The customer service is normally always good. I did have one bad CS experience when their debit machines were down. We didn't know until it was time to check out and they were giving us a hard time. They basically said they would rather throw what we ordered away than to give it to us for free. Many of the places I've been would give you what you ordered because it's not the customers fault the machines are down. Anyways, they did some kind of offline credit card order and we were charged for it later. I normally always get the tofu because it's the best I've had. Perfectly seasoned and grilled. I get it as a burrito or a burrito bowl. I also get the queso, I love it!! The green tomatillo salsa is also really tasty. I would recommend this Moe's if you're looking for a quick and tasty Mexican treat. Bring cash just incase the machine goes down, otherwise you might to hungry. read more

Ordered today from Hamilton Square, first time. First hiccup, a call from DoorDash telling me my order wasn't being delivered. After trying fifteen minutes to get through and speaking to someone who had issues finding my order, I was assured that the store would be delivering. Hiccup two. The order, actually two separate orders, was delivered with enough chips to feed four people. And the salsa for two? A thimbleful. I also was not impressed with the spoonful of quest for which I was overcharged. Sorry folks, first impression really bad. I'm not rushing back, and these aren't times you want to turn people off. Oh, almost forgot, the food. The burritos were of a lower quality than you'd get at a decent Chipotle. The guacamole and the black beans were over salted to say the least. This place has potential to be good. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the main issue is the nightmare of an ordering line. I've been here three times, and each time my food has been cold because it has taken so long to make it through the line. They scoop out the meat first, and then it sits out until after you pay. Sometimes this can take as long as 10 minutes. The only other thing I'd knock is the quality of the meat. It tastes cheap and has very little flavor. The best things about Moe's are the different salsas, the chips, and the iced tea. I like that they have brewed iced tea available and that it generally tastes fresh. read more

I guess I am just not a fan of Moe's as a franchise. If I had a dollar for every time I wished the Moe's location on Rt 33 was a Chipotle, I'd be a rich girl. Problem is Moe's is convenient to me, whereas I have to go out of my way to hit the Chipotle on Rt. 1. So, at times when I'm in a pinch and craving something like Chipotle-like meaning made-to-order fastTex/Mex, I'll go to Moe's, and every time, I'm left wondering why I bothered in the first place. The rice, beans, and all of the other toppings you can choose to add into your creation all seem flavorless, or taste like "soap," as my Mom put it. The guacamole is totally lacking in flavor, and then they have the nerve to be stingy with it. I didn't get any meat in my bowl, the least you could do is give me a hearty dollup of guac. The one thing I do like about Moe's is the free chips and salsa bar, but it's not enough to make me return. read more

We frequent moes on nearly a weekly basis. We have been going to the one in west Windsor since they opened and since moving to Bordentown have been going to this moes in Hamilton instead. Going so frequently we can detect small changes in flavoring and food prep. Like the beans being more or less cooked. Or when the place gets busy or slow down to the day or hour. In our opinion moes is the best chain for Mexican style food. They prices are fair, flavors are consistent and provide a wide variety of menu options. This isn't your hole in the wall legit underground Mexican restaurant. So know what you are getting yourself into when you go and level your expectations. A lot of similarities here with Chipotle. I like the build your own style of burrito coupled with the pop culture menu references. Not sure about the mixing of themes...80's music, TV shows, movies, southwest. Feels like some marketing exec wanted to blend everything he or she liked. Burrito was ood and had fresh ingredients. I liked the grilled tofu option as I often get a veggie burrito but feel as if there nothing substantial to it. The tofu fits that need. Lunchtime on a Friday was busy and we got stuck behind two huge orders that took forever. A second cashier would have been nice and sped things up. This store is extremely disorganized. It's clear the employees have no assigned station as there's never anyone at the register. Even when you order online to avoid the rushed confusion that's taking place behind the counter, there's never anyone at the register organizing and handing out pick up orders. This was my first and last time purchasing food from Moe's. I have always been a Chipotle lover, but today I decided to do something different. However, that was a big mistake as everything about my order was wrong. The staff was more concerned with rushing customers as opposed to offering excellent customer service. The rice looked over cooked and not appetizing. My experience ended with the cashier charging me for the wrong items followed by charging the customer behind me for the wrong items as well. He seemed irritated with us, and acted as if it was an issue for him to resolve his mistake. Due to the amount of time already wasted and his attitude, the other customer and myself gave each other the difference in the amount we were wrongly charged. I don't even know where to start. I paid for extra food, did not receive it. When I went to complain to the manager he waved me off, talking to him I literally saw a cockroach run across the counter. I know somebody who used to work there. And I did not believe the things she said. But, now I know them to be true. She told me they use the same meat for days. They just put it right from the hot area into the refrigerator. She told me that she dropped food on the floor and management made her scrape it up and sell it. Do not go here if you're looking for Mexican. This is an Indian restaurant. I also got food poisoning twice from this place. I had to trace it, but I traced it to here. I gave myself a couple of months of a break from this food. And when I wanted some today, I had a taste for it. I went there and saw a cockroach and was treated terribly.
