I normally love moes but they changed their salsa! No more Kaiser or el guapo. These have now been replaced by "housemade" salsa. Unfortunately these mostly have zero flavor and are all puréed with no chunks. This is my main reason for 3 stars. Moe's with the free chips and salsa bar pushed moes ahead of the other create your own burrito options. Now with the lackluster salsa I'd put the other options ahead of Moe's. Moe's has also changed the depth of their burrito bowls. This is likely to make your bowl feel fuller than it actually is. This isn't a huge deal but makes it more annoying to stir your ingredients. Not all changes are bad. One good change is that Moe's has added fun drink options such as Coke and lemonade icees with flavor enhancements for the lemonade. You can make strawberry lemonade or blue raspberry lemonade icee. These are even refillable! The burritos are still solid and they still have adobe chicken and white queso. read more

It's a Moe's. Ate there last night and everything was good. It does seem like Moe's has gone up quite a bit in price over the years, so not sure the value there. You could get a bigger, better meal at a good quality Mexican restaurant for less. But, for what it is.....made to order, hot and fresh, self-service on drinks, etc......it is a good location. BONUS: Look at there specials and try to hit it on a night they have better deals (Example: Sunday night was a free kids meal with adult purchase). read more

National Burrito Day Buy one get one! Got to love it. Well, this is the last of the big three burrito chains in the Lexington area (maybe there is more); but I came here to do my Baja Fresh customization and see how it reminds me (or not) of the lovable chain back in California. After putting the ingredients that this chain had together; I have to write that it reminds me nothing of the Baha Fresh's Roasted Veggies Burrito. The bell peppers are a bit too crisp. Still, it has its unique thing going on and Moe's is good in its own way. Suggestion: This place is far from what Undercover Boss advertises them as. You are not going to hear a "Welcome to Moe's" when you enter. More like waiting.....and waiting....and waiting...and then finally, a "Hold on one sec" and then some more waiting and then a "What can I do for you?" And this was for someone who had order on mobile and just needed direction to go to wait for my food. I usually don't post reviews but after going in today I had to. Got my order taken by somebody who I could take one look at and know they didnt have a care in the world if the food came out decent. I was right when I got to taking my food out and the entire quesadilla fell apart because they half-assed it. This location used to be thriving and had great food and customer service. For a southwest/Mexican style meal that's fresh and fast, Moe's is my number one go-to! Recently stopped in for a late lunch and had a Joey Bag of Donuts burrito. This isn't a dessert. Its Moe's reference to a smaller sized burrito! I had my usual chicken with black beans and lots of cilantro! Served with warm tortilla chips and salsa. Yum! Although it was the smaller size burrito , I still had plenty of leftovers to bring home for a second meal. I would also recommend this restaurant for your catering needs. Welcome to Moe's! This is like a Subway restaurant for Mexican food. You choose a burrito, bowl, taco, or quesadilla and choose from the available ingredients to customize your order just the way you like it. Among the items you can add are peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, and other condiments typical to Mexican food. They have really good queso and guacamole, too. One of my favorite things is the salsa bar, offering several types of salsa to go with the chips they serve with the entrees. Seriously, if they would bottle the "Who is Kaiser?" salsa, they would have a loyal customer in me. I love that stuff! This is a great spot for fast Mexican food. read more

My husband frequents this place often and I just don't understand why. This particular day I decided to meet him for lunch and of course he says meet me at Moes. Sure the service was great and they weren't even busy which was nice (but also a bad sign to me) My quesadilla was so bland even with the chicken and cheese and peppers and onions on it. The cheese wasn't even melted which made since bc my food wasn't even hot. The chips are so thick and you get tiny cups of salsa that you can barely fit ur chip into. Our kids each got a bowl of rice. They took one bite each and that's it. I had a bite and it tasted like it was covered in bitter bitter chili powder. It was nasty. Nothing tasted fresh. This location is one 3 in Lexington. It's facing the movie theater by Fayette Mall. I've always liked Moe's. Every other time, I've had their catered options countless times and never had any complaints. I down loaded the app and received an offer for a free order of nachos with the purchase of a drink. Do be aware, you have to redeem the offer within so many days of downloading, so be prepared to use it soon after downloading, or else the offer will soon expire. I was pleasantly surprised to find them so busy on a Sunday at lunch time. The line was nearly out the door. Being a fast food type of place, you place your order with the first person working the assembly line of sorts. My first observation was several of the employees (men) didn't have on hair nets and one had hair almost as long as mine. I'm quite sure there is a violation or a double standard there. I ordered the steak nachos. I was allowed to choose which ever topping I wanted for no extra charge, with the exception of guacamole... that's an extra fee. Note that there is an avocado dip on the salsa bar... it's not great, but it could fill an avocado void. I do have to admit, the steak was horrible. Fatty and practically inedible. This was the first time I've had the steak here or at any of the Moe's locations, so I don't know if I caught them on an off day or what. I won't risk it again. Y'all I have always been more of a Qdoba girl.... such a sad life I've been living!!!! I signed up for Moe's rewards because one of my coworkers was telling me about it. Totally forgot about signing up and received an email for a free burrito for my birthday. (Totally beyond excited) I grabbed the home wrecker burrito for my husband and an earmuffs bowl for myself. We go to this Moes about once a month since one of our friends is a drug rep and gets free Moes bucks. The food has always been great and it's always clean. Only complaint is that the last time we went on Moes Monday, we had to download the app to have it scanned to get the discount. Absolutely horrible. The food is tasteless and not even okay. Besides the food, the sanitation and cleanliness of the place is just terrible. The exterior of the building is becoming black and moldy, needs pressure washing big time, and the inside including the kitchen and food preparation areas is very nasty. Dusty, dirty, stained chairs which I had to sit on a bunch of napkins to avoid. Not to mention the employees, which are super homely looking and need to keep the place cleaner. Floors need to be mopped and swept, food is everywhere. Go for either a different location, or Chipotle. No thanks. read more

I'm sure they are aiming for the movie crowd at Fayette Mall Cinemas, but, trust me, if you are looking for a pre or post-movie meal, skip this place and eat at Smashing Tomato or Red Bang Bang, and Chuy's is good Tex-Mex right around the corner from Moe's. So I go to the table and eat the messy burrito out of/on top of the bag. Spilled a lot. People who came in after me got plates. The Hispanic woman who took my initial order was great. I recommend these guys for catering. They are very helpful and will do any event even if it is last minute like mine. Their prices are as competitive as anywhere else with similar menus... trust me I called around... they also do a wonderful job of setting up and taking down so you have to do nothing but enjoy your party. Their staff was helpful and friendly as well. Food: I enjoy the chicken burrito, but all their meat is good. I have not tried their vegetarians options. Their queso is a must with bottomless chips. "Welcome to Moe's!!!" is the classic saying you will hear when you walk in. Several staff members will shout that line as you walk in, in a very friendly entrance! I really like Moe's and their bottomless chips and salsa. Can't go wrong with that. It's a little on the higher end, price wise but I guess they have to make up for the unlimited chips and salsa. There's a salsa bar with about 6 different types of salsa so that's fun! read more

I've tried Moe's a couple times now. I always have a hard time ordering for some reason. Indecisive I guess. Both times I've had the salad. I have to say the ingredients have tasted fresh. They do charge extra for guacamole though. It's pretty good for a fast casual dining place. My husband usually gets the burrito and its huge. You typically get your money's worth on the amount of food you get. They have the Coke machines where you can get some 200 different drinks so that everyone is satisfied. The dislikes: them yelling welcome to moe's every time someone comes in and it's not just one employee doing it. 2. I hate when the reciepts at these places ask for a tip. I don't know maybe it's me and I'm just not sure if the etiquette on those. read more

My experience was ok. It was like subway but for Mexican food. The staff was super friendly, the food was ok ( could have used more flavor). The bathroom was hideous, two employees went in and not once bothered to tell anyone to have it cleaned and I was there over 30 minutes eating. (Waiting on a movie), the salsa station had no salsa, even though the employee cleaning tables noticed it and never mentioned it to anyone. So free chips and no salsa. Wow!! As I was leaving, then the salsa was replinished. I understand a place can get busy, but when employees walk past and look down at it and then not communicate. That is sad..... read more

Really disappointed with the customer service and it's not the first time at this location. Went in to get a burrito bowl after a long day and had very disappointing service. Had to ask 3 to 5 times either for full size portions or a little extra of a topping. For example when I asked for lettuce I got a literal pinch of the shredded lettuce and had a rude stare when I asked for a little more so it was at least a full amount that was more than five pieces of shredded lettuce.
