Absolutely appalling. I knew that the food was going to be mediocre at most when I arrived and saw the sparse decor and messy counters. Employees were rude from the very beginning. Got my order wrong and added far too much of horrendous "queso", so I didn't even bother to eat it. Upon my exit from the restaurant one of the employees chased me down to get me to wipe salsa off the table that wasn't even mine. Ordered chicken burrito bowl. Chicken was good, grilled onions were overcooked, stringy, slimy mess, the guacamole at three additional dollars, was one teaspoon. At checkout I asked for a cup to get water, the cashier charged me $1.99 so I got tea. Tea was excellent, the only problem there was when I went back to get a refill, there was none. I went to the cashier counter and pointed to the beverage area and ask did they have any more tea the young cashier just looked at the area and then look at me and said No. I asked do you have any in the back ? I am a Foodie now I like good fresh food but this was enough to really upset me. I wanted a fresh salad in a taco shell. I asked if it was fresh and a young man with lil braids or twist all over his head stated he fixed it this morning, but mind you it is currently 2pm now. I really enjoy the Moe's Southwest Grill chain, and eat at several locations as I travel. This particular location has pretty consistent food, and is quite similar to other locations. It even has 2 of those nice multi-flavor soda fountain dispensers. I'm sure those are pretty expensive, so it's pretty cool that they have them. On a slight down note, this location is inside of a 24/7 Pilot Truck Stop. It's not a terrible thing, but it's a little strange to hear "Welcome to Moe's", and then immediately after that, while you're ordering, you hear over the loudspeaker, "Customer 14, your shower is ready". With that said, it doesn't really stop me from coming here, but I subtracted one star because of it. read more

This Moe's needs some help! Just stopped for lunch and they tried to serve me romaine lettuce that was old and rank. I could see it was all brown spotted and wilted old. They couldn't see this?? I brought it to her and another persons attention and she said ok but never removed it from the bin the entire time we sat & ate. I had them give me shredded lettuce in my salad but it sure made me wonder about all the other ingredients! Also no tomatillo salsa. They said we don't make it anymore!!!! What??? I made a big mistake coming here..no wonder people wad walking out as i follow i was busy looking at menu while they were looking at the food...when i turned around and said i like a bowl. ***Update*** returned 9 months later and today this location was superb, a lot more folks eating, more workers on the line. The employees were efficient, friendly with the customers and they seemed to work as a team. The ingredients were tasty, I'd say tonight's burrito (home wrecker) was the best one I've had in a long time. I'll be back and hope the next visit is just as fab. First time eating at this location. It was ok. The staff seemed to be more into chatting with each other than serving. Ex. The person that made my order shouted out to the cashier what my order was and what kind of meat I had. The first question the cashier asked me made it clear she had no clue. I had a Homewrecker Jr. with Steak. The meat was a bit chewy so next time at a Moe's I'll have ground beef or chicken or maybe even the pork. Sorry I'm just not a tofu kinda gal, don't eat it often. This place! I just don't know where to start. I hope upper management gets to this review. Everytimw me and my little family have come to this destination, especially on Moe Mondays! Has been an upset. The service has always been slow! I come from F&B management so i always seem to see all the little details. The employees where constantly yelling about how easy there job was. Employees hair where all over the place and not appropriately tied back, no welcome to "Moe's" when we arrived. After I sat down I observed the staff as I was eating and I saw to employees both eating chicken on the line with the same gloves on they where chopping it wth and then served guests with! I was outraged! The last issue was that the guest behind us came in and requested steak. The girl stayed with her back turned that we do not have any. And the guy said what do you mean, and she kept repeating that. She turned around and then told him we only have chicken, ground beef, and pork. He was upset. He went with the chicken, mind you that this was what the girl and other employee had munched on. After his order was completed and went to the next, the guy then pulled steak off the grill which the girl had said they had none of!!! The guy was outraged! I mean how do you not know what is cooking! This place never ceases to amaze me that they can not keep there line fresh with ingredients, in stock at all time, and everything rotated! Third time here , and each time it was good. I've only gotten the Homewrecker Burrito ( hey if it works for you stick with if ) that thing will fill you up . Frank was the only one working to serve the customers. The girl was put out that I asked for a salad with the shell because they were out. She did offer to make one for me though. The majority of the tables were dirty. If someone said, "Welcome to Moe's," I didn't hear it and I certainly didn't feel welcome. Frank offered me chips as a substitute for the shell so that was nice. I'm trying not to be unkind. If ever an employee looked like she didn't want to be there, it was the one at the grill so she may have something really bothering her. The absolute worst service I've ever experienced in my life. With this being a fast food facility I really did not have my expectations I, and they still managed to disappoint me. After having to waiting for them to go retrieve items from the back, stop and have a conversation with each other, and then pretend they didn't even see me standing there. I was a bit skeptical going in but really surprised. I had a steak burrito because it looked so juicy and it was really good. I'm a traditional chicken burrito girl but the chicken looked a tad dry so steak it was. I asked for the guacamole on the side because I hate guac on my burrito. I got a hard time about that the girl saying 'we're not supposed to do that' and I'm thinking wtf do you care if I get it on the side. Really? Oh well. I loved the salsa bar which is self serve and all orders come with chips so that is awesome. Wanted to try the side of queso but it was super tiny for $1.69 so I skipped it. Over all it was good and definitely better then nothing- I jones for Chipotle all the time being from the West Coast and this is a decent alternative. I enjoyed the guac and chips more then anything. Very good flavor. I will say if I get attitude about the guac next time I will probably not be back because I don't do attitudes lol. Got the Homewrecker as always and it was good, but it tasted like it needed salt. The flavors were not popping out as they usually do for me. Maybe because it is located with a gas station where people like me are just driving through during a road-trip. Kinda felt like maybe the workers do not put as much heart into serving their food. It was not bad, just not up to my full Moe's Standards. But when you have 200+ more miles to drive you take what you can get and I'd rather eat this than those other franchises during road-trips. read more

Before I visited this Moe's housed inside a Pilot gas station, I wouldn't have ever thought a term like "worst Moe's ever" was possible. For if there was a "worst Moe's ever", that would establish a comparative ranking system of Moe'ses and would imply that there could be a "best Moe's ever" which sounds highly unlikely. And yet, make no mistake about it, this is THE WORST MOE'S EVER. Let it be said, I hate all of the schticky schtick that Moe's does, with the dated pop culture names and the post-lawsuit fake-rock-star imagery on the walls - which never made sense in the first place, considering it suggests you're about to have an inauthentic burrito experience. And I certainly feel sympathy for the people who work the burrito lines and know that their forced enthusiasm is just that - forced - and for all I know there's some sick manager bastard who whips them post-shift if they don't shout their customary welcomes below 110 decibels. It's like a human version of puppy-mills staring at these people, and I feel less human every time I come into one of these places as a result. But I do like burritos, and though their burritos are bland variations they still are always edible at the least. Plus I was on the road and needing to get home, and I thought, "At least I know what I'm getting." Well, I didn't. Per the above, I had no problem that the lady stared at me and only muttered "Welcome To Moe's" after the fact as if she forgot where she was - I actually liked that. And I didn't have a problem that I started my order with a "Super Kingpin" and she didn't know what that was. No, the problem began when I said, "That's a veggie quesadilla" and the blank look on her face remained. Someone walked up to her and explained to her that you make a veggie quesadilla like a meat quesadilla, except you don't put the meat in it, to which she finally started up. It kinda grossed me out that unlike every other Moe's I've visited they don't use the strainer for the beans and as such she made an unappetizing mess on the tortilla - but it grossed me out even more that she moved her arms so slowly that she left a trail of the liquid across everything else en route (over the trays - she did this with the pico de gallo too). But then downstream one of the other ladies (there were three of them on this line) apparently mistook it for a burrito and rolled it up, only to realize a minute later of the mistake which caused the process to start over. This is but one example of my 4-part order - the most competent person eventually took over but still there was really never more than one person working and the line backed up 4-deep while I was ordering. I have more stories I could tell (one of which involves sour cream), but I'm not trying to be an investigative reporter here - all I wanted was a frickin' burrito. And I'm not going to lie, I ate my burrito, but then again I loaded it down with jalapenos and the hottest salsa they have, so it generally clouded the taste. Though my kids and wife said the black beans were sour, and when I had a bite of one of their sparser orders I could tell. Assessing food quality is subjective, and of course with such a negative start I knew I probably wouldn't have a great impression, but it did concern us as to the upkeep of this location. Some of the items in the tray (not the vegetables, thankfully - they looked fine) looked, well, OFF. Like, fake food on a children's toy kitchen set kind of OFF. We didn't get sick, but we did get motivated to stop for ice cream a little later down the road to effectively cleanse ourselves. Which may be the most positive repercussion of our lunch choice. So hey, I'm a Moe's critic, but even so at the heart of it I know they're generally okay. At worst it's just a corporate try at being edgy - it's an image as much as it is a restaurant which is never a good combination. That a location under their umbrella can be THIS, for lack of a more apt word, disgusting is something even I wouldn't have considered. I was so excited when I saw that this Pilot has a Moe's in it, because they're hard to find and it sure beats what's on their hot bar. It amazes me that they haven't overtaken Chipotle yet. Portion sizes here are huge, you get two scoops of everything. The best part is that guacamole is included with everything, no extra charge! What else is awesome is that you get free chips with every meal and they have a salsa bar with 5 different salsas. They don't have Cholula or any other name brand hot sauce, but they do have this stuff called Hard Rock sauce with a nice bite and flavor. We stopped at the Moe's during a road trip on I-10 solely for its convenient location attached to a gas station with halfway decent coffee. Immediately upon interacting with the staff, our first thought was that recreational marijuana must be widely used during lunch and coffee breaks frequently. The second thought was this girls pigtails need a hair net. Or perhaps the pigtails were cutting off blood flow to her brain. That could be the only explanation for the "blazing" speeds at which she worked. My friend ordered a burrito. Fairly standard. Nothing crazy. However, upon the rolling stage of the burrito making process, it was turned into a ball of leaking sour cream. Due to the sour cream fiasco, our server needed to change her gloves and retrieve a new piece of unsoiled tinfoil. We grew that much older, as we waited for this excruciatingly slow process. I ordered a stack. My order started with the same woman who gave me a blank stare when I ordered, but was soon passed off to a gentleman who seemed just as confused about where it was he was working, and what is was he was supposed to be doing. I asked for everything except for lettuce on my stack, and the very first thing he put on was lettuce. Once my order was assembled, I paid at the cash register as it was being finished. I ordered the meal, but ended up being double charged for my drink. I did not realize this until afterwards, and by that point was too frustrated with the staff to do anything about it. I proceeded to stand there and wait for my food for an additional 5 minutes after I paid. When I finally received my food, I was surprised with a cup of queso instead of the side I ordered. I thought perhaps it was a kind gesture for how much they had messed up to this point. As I was filling my drink, I was approached by the lettuce man who informed me he had accidentally given me a cup of queso and wanted it back. I handed it back to him and he promptly tried to hand it to the customer it was actually intended for. As he very well should have, that customer refused to accept a cup of queso that had been on another customers tray. During the whole fiasco of queso, I did not get my side of queso I paid for until I returned to the register and had to show the cashier my receipt because somehow in the 30 seconds since she had seen me there, she forgot I was a customer. God forbid they lose 2 oz of queso, after they just had to trash an entire cup of it. I was also disappointed with the lack of beverage options. Why have one of those fancy machines with 100 options if you only keep 6 stocked? We return on this road tomorrow. Moe's at exit 69 on I-10 will not be a stop for us. Even if we're starving.
