The four of us that went here expected it to be good unfortunately we were very disappointed with service and food. We selected this spot because it's located across the street from the hotel we reserved and when we got out of our car the smell of the food was good. We went in and they kindly greeted us and said it we will be seated in about 30 minutes. We accepted and greatly was seated in 10 minutes, that was the good part. We walked to the table and I saw a guest with a plate of fajita and noticed it looked bland. They gave tortilla chips and salsa, the chips had no salt and the salsa was very mushy with no taste. I ordered Birria tacos, no season. The dipping sauce is very watery taste. It came with beans that had a very improper season. The enchiladas and other orders my family had was flavorless, low quality of ingredients, guacamole was too mushy. Someone dropped a plate that crashed on the floor. During a recent Hurricane evacuation, Hacienda San Miquel was conveniently walking distance from our hotel. Lunch proved to be our next meal and so we walked over. Not quite Margarita time for me, but I spotted a really fun full bar and an extensive menu of specialty drinks and bar food specials. The menu looked really nice and while I was gonna go for the street tacos, We opted for the limited Lunch Menu at the last minute. (served until 3) The lunch menu had something for everyone. I gorge out on the complimentary chips and salsa but my son chose to order the "large" queso which is definitely enough for 4 people... wow! what a portion. The salsa came in cute little carafe and was very mild for any latino tongue, but I loved it. Son ordered the quesadilla and I the loco burrito. Plenty of food, I really enjoyed mine which was accompanied by pico and guacamole salad. Son slathered his with more of the queso and we both requested boxes to go. The surroundings and staff were very pleasant. Perhaps I'll pop over for a margarita later, I saw a jalapeño one that might just do the trick. read more

The food was amazing. The salsa was good, we like ours hotter but it was good. My michelada was so good. When you order those they are either good or not, and these are so delicious. My fajitas were very good. My husband said the burrito was really good as well. The service was great. They kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly. The ambiance was kinda quiet for a Friday night and the place seemed almost full. If we're ever back in Moss Point we will definitely go back. read more

I saw that there was a Moe's so I decided to go, but unfortunately the Moe's was under construction. I started looking around and saw a Mexican restaurant. I went in and it was open. The ambiance was like any other typical restaurant. I decided to order something from this restaurant. The lady taking my order was really nice. I was in the mood of menudo soup. I placed the order of the soup, it came with corn tortillas and white rice which was charged separately not included with the soup. I paid for the menudo soup, corn tortillas and white rice $22.89 plus tip. The menudo soap was not an actual soap it was more of a stew, it was not bad but it was not good either. I would honestly have to pass on this next time. For the price I paid I could have easily bought two meals at Moe's. It was too expensive for the quality of the food. read more

Authentic Mexican Restaurant and hospitality where you'd least expect, on exit 69 right off I-10. This spot was recommended to me by several drivers and friends who frequent the area; they said this was the place to eat. That I must take the time to stop by la Hacienda for lunch or dinner. While the entrance was a little tricky to find, you cannot miss the restaurant as it is tucked right across from the Pilot Travel Center. Trickier than the entrance was getting lucky with a parking spot. Not sure if Friday nights tend to bring in a larger number of guests, but there were multiple tractor trailers in the Lot, as well as motorcycles and larger vehicles. Thankfully we were able to grab one of two free spots near the door around 7:30pm. The restaurant inside is very spacious so do not let the tight and busy parking lot deter you from stepping inside. The customer service was exceptional, specially given how busy they were on my visit. There is plenty of seating and you will be accommodated as best as possible. The service was also very quick. Less than a 30 minute wait from when we were seated, ordered our food and had it brought out. Our waitress' name slipped my mind, however she was very helpful with providing suggestions from the menu Everything was also freshly made. The portions are large, so be sure to bring an appetite. There are also many options available to choose from, even multiple vegetarian options. We had a Mexican chicken and vegetable soup to start off (this could be an entree on its own, definitely enough to share). The vegetables are largely cut and the chicken is almost shredded, the broth was very flavorful, was only missing a little spice for my taste. After a long day of driving cross country, I stopped in at Hacienda San Miguel at 10:30 PM. And I was really blown away. I had: 1) "Sopa de Tortilla" and couldn't get enough. In a large bowl, wonderful house-made tortilla strips spoke to the freshness of the chicken-base soup and avocado. It was so tasty. 2) "Esquite" which was hands down THE BEST Mexican street corn I've ever had. Both on the cob and cut off the cob on the plate, I couldn't get enough of this dish. 3) Chicken wings with medium Buffalo sauce which, unlike wings I've had in the last 2 years, were large, meaty and tasty. They hit the spot. Even though it was late, the service was attentive from the time I walked in until the time I left. The bar was crowded and the dining room was thinning out for the night. My only complaint was that many of the tables had yet to be bussed as staff was taking a break when I arrived. And when the check came, I was pleased that the prices were reasonable given the quality of the food. It may not have been the greatest Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at, but the Sopa and Esquite were certainly the two freshest and tastiest dishes I've had in a long while...and I lived in CA and AZ for many years where some Mexican restaurants are truly authentic. This place is AMAZING!!! My family was traveling and we stayed in Moss Point for the night and we decided to try this place out. We were a party of 11 so I called ahead to ask if they could accommodate all of us. They said yes, and to just show up when we were ready. When we got there, they did ask to wait until at least half of our party was there. No biggie at all. Once we were seated, the waiter was super friendly. Our food was brought out pretty fast and everything I tasted was so delicious. I got the birria tacos. We got a corn appetizer and chicharones with guacamole. I am on a trip to Mississippi and was pleasantly surprised to see some great reviews for Hacienda San Miguel. It was delicious! We ordered the carne asada tacos and Victoria rice bowl. Both were great! Chips and salsa came with it even though it was a pick up order. My one recommendation would be to make the salsa more chunky and spicy. Called in a to go order and they said it would be ready in 5 minutes. Showed up about 10 minutes later and she said it will be just a minute. I'm thinking no problem they are just a few minutes behind. 20 minutes go by someone finally brings my food out and I walked across the road to the holiday inn to my room probably 2 minutes at the most. And I open my food up and everything is cold. Like barely room temperature. None of cheese in the enchiladas or quesadillas was melted. The meal tasted great i just had an issue with the server. She would swoop in and out so dang fast I couldn't even say anything. Several times I had to ask someone else for what I needed. A taste of Mexico in Moss Point! Just off I-10 at exit 69 and tucked in between a lot of motels you will find this hidden gem. Ample parking and an inviting ambiance make you feel right at home. My GF and I went here for Dinner on a very late Saturday afternoon. Average Crowd and we waited awhile to be seated. Once seated I immediately felt uncomfortable with the fact that it was a Red Tile Flood with lots of chairs being dragged back and forth over the tile. When I ordered my Chicken Fajitas I was asked if I wanted the usual BBQ Sauce on my Chicken. WTH? NO! However, I ended up with ZERO Fajita Spices on my Fajitas and lesson learned. The Only Mexican Restaurant in America with BBQ Fajitas? Screeching Chairs again....MY GF wondered if there was a shortage of Red Sauce over her 2 Beef Enchiladas with Refried Beans. $16? Good otherwise. Her Margarita was perfect and I had water. $10 We are Older People and probably expect more than others for our $68 Tab for Two with 1 Drink. IF you bring lots of money and have low expectations you won't be disappointed. The screeching noise of the chairs across the tile has stopped now so a good time to also say it took me 69 years to finally get an Order of No Seasoning Chicken Fajitas WITHOUT any Guacamole Dip. Zero.. None. Extra Sour Cream though to help with the fat flavor. My GF lives here and she did say that the Original Hacienda in West Mobile was the BEST for overall Food, Ambiance, and Service. However, We did the math and figured out we could make the same Meal at Home with Homemade Fajita Seasoning for about $5 per serving with Margarita included and NO screeching Chairs. One Avocado is $.82 at Walmart. We could have ordered a Side of Guac for $9.99. Freedom of Choice is a beautiful thing. No Return Visit planned for either one of us. read more

The food was awesome, as usual. My service , on the other hand , was atrocious. I did a pick up order on the way home from the office and my guacamole was omitted from the order. My husband called to advise so hopefully we could pick it up another day when Ms Stephanie( or so she said that was her name) informed him she was refunding the guacamole but there were signs posted that tell you to check your order before you leave. She never apologized and only continued to blame me instead of the kitchen staff who packed the order. I've been a leader for years and I do not permit my staff to be rude to customers in any form so I do not tolerate it and that was the last $70 I shall ever spend at the establishment. read more

I stopped by for lunch on my way back to New Orleans. I like to search out something local and avoid chain restaurants and this fit the bill. The parking lot was packed and it turned out to be the restaurants 10th anniversary celebration with live music all day and specials. The band I heard was good, playing decent versions of pop songs. I ordered a corona, queso and the poblano mole that came with thin seared chicken on a bed of corn tortillas with cheese covered in a slightly sweet mole sauce. The dish also had refried beans. It was worthwhile but nothing particularly noteworthy. The salsa seemed freshly made and was the highlight, complimentary with chips. A good lunch and leftovers for dinner. Unfortunately, we had a bad dining experience, but our visit was late and unplanned. I will write tonight's dining experience off to limited staffing during COVID. We had a large party and were greeted and seated outside on the patio. A swarm of moths swarmed around our table, and we requested tables inside. We were accommodated. We had not received our drinks after a 20-25 minute wait, and decided it would be best to try other local late night dining options. Again I believe the late hour and the limited staffing issues seemed to be the culprits. Later I did ask the members of our party that decided to stay how their meal was. Things did not go well. Truly a diamond in the rough! You might not expect to find such a gem wedged between a Pilot truck stop and a couple of motels, but if you're in the area, stop by. We just had the most amazing lunch here. We were driving from FL to TX and were starving. I'd mapped this out on Yelp and we arrived in the middle of the lunch rush. So I think the kitchen was a little slammed and it took a little longer to get our food, but we weren't in a rush and it was worth the wait. I had a huge late of fresh, citrusy mixed ceviche and my hubby had the shrimp tacos. I tasted the shrimp and they were cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. My son inhaled his quesadilla and we had the flan for dessert. It was light and creamy. I had to fight my son so that he didn't eat it all before I could get some!
