My Family and I eat here all the time, I have never had Bad service here. All the staff is Top Notch. The Food is great. My Normal go to is the Big Burrito ( Stuffed full of Rice, Beans, Beef, and chicken. Then covered in a white cheese sauce) and I always get at least 2 Hard shell Tacos on the side. I leave there stuffed, But never broke as the Prices are great! Only Issue I have ever had here was with a Tequila Sunrise. The Bartender either stirred the drink or did not put things in, in the correct order. Yes outside could use some TLC, But once inside things are very neat and clean! Right off the interstate, in the dying town of Escatawpa. If it wasn't where I grew up, I would've passed the whole town up. Tex mex foods overflow the south, and are usually nothing to write home about. Much like the city it's in, the building is a little shady. There's about 3 parking spots, and the rest is a gravel parking lot. But you won't get mugged in the parking lot, so don't worry. The salsa alone stands out. You know the drill: sit down. Order your drinks. Someone who isn't your waiter brings out salsa and chips. At some restaurants, it's maybe watery, or too spicy. Not here. It's a perfect mix of tomato, onion, salsa, and cilantro. The cheese dip is better than most. There's nothing worse than a queso that is too runny wit no flavor. Here, it sticks to the chips, and actually has flavor. The food is some of the best Tex mex I've ever had. Tex mex is usually when you want something sort of exotic, while getting absolutely trashed on margaritas. The chimichangas, beef of course, are some of the best I've had in my many years of stuffing my fat face with Tex mex. fried crisp, and smothered in the queso goop that is so identifiable with Tex Mex dishes, it stands out above any other I've had. The big burrito is one of the best options to order. What's in it? Who cares. Put it in your face. It's not aptly named. It should be called the ginormous fucking burrito. You eat one of them, don't have any other plans besides go home and go to sleep. The worst part of this restaurant is that they offer it for a lunch special. It's not a lunch. It's a breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal. Go home and go to sleep. The drinks are good, and not super expensive. Get a modelo especial with a lime. The margaritas are excellent with a heavy pour. Moved out to Louisiana from California and this is the closest thing to Cali Mexican food we have had. The rice and beans were great. It had a home feel to the food. If this place was closer to us in New Orleans I would definitely come back. My husband had the pork and it wasn't dry, it was really good. Price was great! $20 for both of us and it came with chips and salsa as soon as we were seated. I would recommend trying this place out. Had an authentic Mexican taste to it. read more

"Two thumbs up!" Mister Roger (Ebert) & Mister Gene (Siskel... yes, posthumously) Credentials: I've eaten at most burrito joints between Mountain View and the northern tip of San Francisco. On the way back to California from Pittsburgh, I visited cousins in Moss Point. They said they had this Mexican restaurant that was good for Mississippi. I'm here to tell you that it wasn't just good for Mississippi. It was yummy! We were a party of 8, walking in on a Friday at ~12:30p. They seated us immediately and brought out chips and yummy salsa (much better than the salsa at Milagros Cantina in Redwood City). I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas plate. One of our party ordered a super burrito, and the rest ordered either chicken or steak fajitas. I remarked that the prices were really LOW. My enchiladas were $6 and change. I haven't seen fajitas less than $8 since the dotcom bust. Service was spot on. It was 94+ degrees and humid outside, so I was drinking water like a fish. They attentively refilled my glass before I emptied it every time (~4 times). They were friendly and provided service with a smile, even WITH two moderately loud and hungrily grumpy kids there. When the food came, I saw the huge portion sizes. I could swear the burrito was almost the size of my forearm, and the fajitas were sizzling on the traditional metal skillets (and I was surprised they were served with guac). My enchilada plate was the perfect temperature and I couldn't help but dig in. When I sank my fork and knife into the corn enchilada, it cut tenderly in. (I've had tough enchiladas at even at the yummy Fiesta Del Mar in Mountain View.) The salsa verde was solid, and the beans and rice were neither too much nor too little (and juuuuuust right). By the end, I cleaned my plate, and the $6 super burrito was gone, however not one order of fajitas was finished, and some of the fajitas had an adult and a hungry kid eating from them. I got to taste the fajitas, and they were well prepared, and the onions were caramelized griddle-yummy. It was on par with Mexico City, the best Mexican food I found in Pittsburgh, and better than at least half the places in the greater Bay Area. Go with an appetite. You will leave satisfied. P.S. Came here from how much my boyfriend was raving about this place. After being in this area your options are pretty skim on any authentic cuisine. We were immediately seated upon entering for a Sunday brunch. I had two chicken and one carne asada soft tacos. Our waiter was attentive and we never had to ask for a refill for our drinks. Conveniently located right off I-10. The food is always served extremely quick and very, very hot. All portions are large and very fresh. The salsa is quite good and the staff is always friendly and attentive and will to make any changes to item that you request. My beverage never falls below 1/2 at any time when I eat there. Based on other reviews, I was expecting a great experience here. However, me and my companions were really disappointed in the food at this restaurant. The beans and fajita vegetables were poorly seasoned and rather bland. I asked for my dish with no cheese, and so instead it came out with a mountain of iceberg lettuce on it. One of my companions described the chile relleno as bizarre. It was basically a pile of hamburger with cheese blended in and a slice of pepper draped over top and covered in cheese. It didn't appear to be fried at all, where I normally see chile rellenos deep fried. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. The menu was large and varied, with more than the usual vegetarian selections. However, the overall lack of quality would make me wary of returning. This isn't an avoid at any cost restaurant, but I think there are better options in the area. read more

Stopped in on my way back to Atlanta, ordered 2 steak tacos and a Cheese enchilada. The tacos were very plain. The shells were a tad stale , their steak is just hamburger that had no seasoning. My favorite Mexican place on the MS coast! The staff is always so polite and knows my family and I when we walk in. Food is certainly made to order and piping hot. Everything has lots of flavor and visually appealing. It's not the most modern restaurant, but I love the "mom and pop" feel of a true local small business. After reading reviews, I decided to get a half order of the steak fajita nachos so I could taste the way the meat was seasoned.....stay clear of the steak fajitas....very bland. So I decided to order the beef enchiladas with rice and beans. The rice and beans were bland as well and I only ate a couple bites. The enchilada (yes 1, not 2) was surprisingly good. The only reason this review got 2 stars is the enchilada. Service was good too, and margaritas were strong, but were almost neon yellow from whatever mix they used. I won't return. read more
