My girlfriend and I went tonight to the Southington location. They had almost no meat, no rice, and were out of other items as well. I saw the lady working the counter throw queso back into the container on the line since the customer who requested it didn't want it afterwards. I was going to order a Cup of Queso with some chips since I haven't eaten all day, but after seeing that I decided against it. We only got food since my girlfriend was redeeming her birthday burrito. They didn't have Steak so she settled with the chicken instead. 6:30 still is considered dinner hours and it was amazing to see so many protein options out of stock. The rice to her description was hard as a rock when she was trying to eat it at home. We ended up throwing it out and decided to get pizza instead for her birthday meal. The environment tonight was very disappointing. There was almost nobody in line or seated at the tables, but yet the trash cans were lined with trays of people who were eating inside before and the trash was full. Salsa Bar was a mess and not stocked. Chips were not being served out of the chip warmer and instead being served from a container next to the fryer. Drink & utensils area was not stocked either. I really hope the Manager there cares about the location since they really let this place go. read more

If you come here expecting authentic Mexican you're insane (and drive 3 exits down the highway to Salsa's in Plantsville) They still have the nifty Coke Freestyle machine (I think this was the first place I ever used one.) Portions seem to be about the same, but the workers move at a glacial pace. The fact that they no longer yell "Welcome to Moe's" exemplifies the IDGAF attitude seen here now. I've eaten at enough Mexican joints in my life to feel like I've pretty much covered the entire spectrum from bottom end to the finest gourmet. And honestly, given my passion for the style, I was genuinely surprised when I realized that I had never eaten at a Mo's before. This one is about 10 minutes from where I work so when a co-worked suggested it for a Thursday lunch man-date, I bit on that like a rattlesnake. As per usual, I did my due diligence as far as researching the place and it's selections. I like knowing what I'm going to order when I walk in as I sometimes freeze up like a deer in headlights if I try to decide spontaneously. The general consensus on this place seemed to be that if you have a bad experience, it's going to be service related. Meaning, the food is probably going to be good. We walked in and I "got it" right away; it's a Mexican Subway. My man-date was shocked that I didn't already know that, but again having never been in one I was going in cold. Couple people in front of us, but they move them through really quickly here, so the wait was not an issue. Placed my order for a "Steak Wrong Doug" with the first gent at station one, he offered me the options and was overall super pleasant. On to the next station and another guy who was equally pleasant as he helped me decide on the fixings. Smooth sailing! Finally at the register, a SUPER friendly lady who we joked around with as we waited for our meals to come out. Bottom line on the food: It was good, really good. Flavorful, fresh tasting, awesome. And the free chips and salsa bar were just like a hidden gem. Really, really good overall. Bottom line on the service: It too was good, really good. I get it that people have bad experiences with other people, and that can ruin the dining experience itself. I for one will ALWAYS give a place another shot or 2 if I get bad service but the food is on point. I have not had a positive experience at this Moe's. The staff has been disinterested in moving things along in a hurry. Or willing to go the extra bit to make any customer happy. For instance they had run out Southern Sweet Tea. And the employee just told them to assist sugar to their Northern Tea instead if brewing new sweet tea. And the waits have been unexpectedly long. The inside is nice, there is ample seating and it is clean. The location is a plus easy on/off at 84 and ample parking in its plaza. read more

After already consuming too much food on Wednesday, My parents wanted Moe's so I went to pick it up with my dad and accidentally ended up ordering a tofu Joey Jr. I've been to this Moes location 20+ times in the past (I used to live in Connecticut) and this used to be my go-to spot for the Moe's Monday deal. We came here around 8:30PM and the place had a decent amount of people. The line was short and the staff was quick to help us and make our burritos. Like I said, I got the Joey Jr with tofu and veggies with a topping of southwest chipotle sauce. Once I got home and dug in (I could only fit half a Joey Jr, how sad?) the burrito was pretty good for the most part (although the southwest chipotle was only in one spot, oh well). Luckily, only eating half of a burrito means I get half of a burrito for another meal, not a bad deal! This is my sons go to place traveling back-and-forth from CCMC to Waterbury. HIS staple is the Joey bag of donuts. I usually get the taco bowl. A little difficult these days with the curbside pick up. Only disappointment is not being able to pick from the salsa bar, it's just prepackaged, small quantity, Definitely miss dine in Service. Sunday March 3, I arrived at Moe's in Southington. Hoping to escape the cold of the blizzard, I entered the building and was promptly greeted with a friendly, "Welcome to Moe's!" little did I know, the experience would not be as pleasant as my greeting or my greeter. It was not the customer service, or the aesthetic of the establishment that lead to my ultimate disappointment. Upon ordering my Chicken Club Quesadilla, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous serving of rice that my server had placed on my quesadilla, however; once he began to scoop the black beans, I knew something was up. I could not tell you specifically what I knew, but I had feeling deep down that this would not be good for me. Today is March 6th, and I do not know if you have ever seen a lawn sprinkler, but that is my current state, both ends. I am a teacher, and this is not easy. It is taking a great deal of will power and muscle strength to keep it in. I wish I could offer more help. Moe's has been good to me in the past. But, the lesson of this experience is sometimes the things you love hurt you the most. read more

Easily the worst Moe's in the state. The staff is lazy and unfriendly - the salsas are always empty, they grumble when you order anything remotely difficult, and rarely say "Welcome to Moe's!". I've given up on the chewy steak - I'll just wait until I can get to West Hartford (of course then I'd go to Chipotle anyway). They have this awful soda fountain where you have to wait behind a bunch of confused people just to get some ice for the iced tea. I feel like you can't review Moe's without also comparing it to Chipotle since they're like two sides of a coin, as far as this gringo can tell. Having been to both for the first time within a month of each other, I can say I prefer Chipotle, but Moe's offers a decent feed as well, and guac is not an exorbitantly priced side like it is at Chipotle. My steak burrito was chock full of steak, but I felt like the rice wasn't as flavorful and the ingredients themselves not as fresh. I did enjoy the self-serve salsa bar and the chips that my burrito came with, but none of the salsas wowed me. All in all, it's a decent meal if you're in the area and craving Mexican food, but I'd never go out of my way to eat at Moe's. This place makes me sad. The fact that they offer bacon as a choice for a burrito filling should give you all the information you need right there. I ordered "The Homewrecker," which is supposed to be the biggest burrito on the menu. It's an okay size I guess, but the amount of chicken they put in there was sad (but it was chock full of lettuce). Yes, the other ingredients they added were fresh, but every type of salsa at the salsa bar was clearly straight from a jar from the Moe's manufacturing plant. I can assemble tortilla chips and ingredients, tyvm. I do not expect a dish to get to be unheated. Cold. Not cooled down. Cold. Cheese unmelted. All unmelted. And even then not all my ingredients were there. Grilled mushrooms, no-show. A shame, it would've brought some warmer temperature to it- I'd hope. But no. Who let it go out uncooked like that without all the ingredients? 'Alright Alright Alright' is overselling it. Pathetic Pathetic Pathetic. There. Fixed. I mean, I did get Moe's Southwest GRILL, yes? Not Blue Apron? You had one job. My Chicken Club- sopping mess. I think it's the bacon, the sour cream and the cheese in it, but cannot even hold it, had to divide it up. Taste isn't that bad, but not going to save this order. Nearly cold. Burrito- best of the three but that's not saying much. Better consistency. Also nearly cold. I have mixed feelings about Moe's. I love the variety of their fresh ingredients. Cilantro and jalapeños are a must on any burrito, salad, or stack. I really love the stacks here at Moe's. It's like a crunch wrap supreme from Taco Bell but with more choices. Guac is extra, bacon is extra, and queso is extra- unless it comes on the item you order. The home wrecker burrito already has guac Accounted for and the stacks have queso accounted for. My one complaint is that the hours reflected on the door is different from the hours on the website or on Google. read more

Moe's is a Subway type Mexican fast food restaurant. A step above Taco Bell but a step below Chipotle in terms of food quality and taste. The restaurant itself is nice, plenty of seating, friendly staff and a fancy new Coke machine that 100's of options (really, check it out-its new) however I just can't come here over Chipotle. I was in Southington by accident last week and starving so I stopped into Moe's. Service was good-all the girls I dealt with behind the glass and the register were very nice. I had a burrito with a wheat wrap--I see what they're trying to do by offering it but they need to either go back to the drawing board or just let go of it all together. Its flakey, rough and smells bad. The steak was good-tender and easy to chew. The rice however, is seasoned-I prefer cilantro rice. The chips, while free, are getting closer and closer to right out of the Tostito's bag. The salsa is also free but obviously from a jar. Hey, I know-if it were higher quality it wouldn't be free. I know they're taking these measures to try to beat out Chipotle by being less expensive, and while it may work for others, it doesn't work for me. read more

Fresher, healthier Mexican choice! Moe's is a great alternative to Taco Bell, your body will thank you :) It has a mixture of Subway and Ponderosa style ordering which seems to throw off people that are used to ordering "the number two, supersized". They care about the quality of food and make fresh nachos constantly! They use organic ingredients, chemical free meats, grass fed beef and freshly made salsas. They have meat lover and vegetarian choices, kids meals and a very cool self serve drink dispenser. Waitstaff is always pleasant and the salsa bar is always clean and full when we go. Food is great!! Would love to have one closer to us but we do like stopping here when we are in the area! read more
