This American-Mexican diner was such a great find! We chose to sit in the outdoor seating area, and it was the perfect day to enjoy a meal outside. The atmosphere was relaxing, clean, and family-friendly. One thing that immediately stood out was the menu. It's about 10 pages long, with an incredible variety of options. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, American classics, or Mexican favorites, there's truly something for everyone. The presentation is beautiful. The drinks are garnished with fresh flowers and slices of lemon or cucumber, making them feel extra special. Even the food is served with colorful touches like a slice of orange and a strawberry on a skewer, showing they really pay attention to the details. My kids enjoyed an orange juice and an apple juice. I ordered the mango dragonfruit lemonade, and it was refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect drink for a warm day. For my meal, I had the avocado toast topped with an egg and crispy bacon. It was fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. The boys loved their meals too. One had the chocolate chip pancakes, which were fluffy and loaded with chocolate chips, while the other had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich served with crispy home fries. They also offer a great selection of specialty waffles and pancakes, giving us plenty of reasons to come back and try something new. Finally I got the chance to get brunch at one of the most instagramable restaurants in Hartford ! Located right across trinity collage , parking is sparse , however customers are able to park across the street ! The ambiance was amazing I felt transport to the early 2000s with the music playing we got ne-yo , akin , old school Mariah Carey , Nelly ! Fabulous vibe . They have booth and table seating . Staff was very nice and friendly they were so sweet and attentive!! To start off I ordered the caramel cappuccino which was delicious highly recommend and presentation was top tier ! My husband got the hot chocolate which was really good ! And perfect to cozy up to this winter season ! Next I got the banana split French toast ! Yes and it was AMAZING ! I started with the hot chocolate and was expecting a simple hot chocolate but got a masterpiece covered in whipped cream, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and a healthy portion of chocolate syrup. Very hole in the wall spot in Hartford, but with an extensive menu with both typical diner and mexican options. The service was extremely friendly, and the inside was clean, warm and overall had an unpretentious, warm vibe. We had an appointment at Hartford Hospital, so decided to go to a nearby restaurant afterwards. This diner is near both the hospital and Trinity College. They have an extensive menu of both breakfast and other items, many with a Mexican flair. We went for American breakfasts. I had two eggs, corned beef hash, fried potatoes and toast. My dining companion had a stack of three pancakes. The food was plentiful, well-prepared and clearly house-made. The cost was reasonable. The interior is well-appointed and there's a nice dining patio in front. Parking is on the street, but pretty easy to find a spot. Serving staff was friendly. The only suggestion I have is to get a larger window air conditioner in the rear dining room. It was a hot day and although the room was relatively cool, a higher capacity air conditioner would have helped, especially when that room is full of people. read more

At the corner of Bonner and Zion streets, a little difficult to find due to small signage. Warm inviting ambience. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We got offered coffee refills twice which was wonderful. The menu was confusing because it's so large. You have to get on page 6 or something to find the Mexican options. We ordered the --breakfast burrito (4/5) excellent hot salsa, ample ingredients, beautiful plating --huevos rancheros (3/5) yummy plátanos on the side, two overeasy eggs on two large tortillas, mild sauce, lots of avocado --chicken soup with corn tortillas (4/5) delicious fresh made corn tortillas, soothing chicken soup with macaroni pasta in it, plentiful cilantro/onion/lime to add, avocado on the side. All the entrees came out lukewarm except the tortillas. If meals are prepped fresh, I'd expect them to be piping hot... Service might be slow at times depending on how busy it is, and you might have to wait to get seated if it's busy. But it's worth it for sure. I love coming for brunch or breakfast where they have a great variety to choose from. And it feels very homey, with great music always playing and you leave stuffed and happy every time. I am not sure why I have never checked this place out way before now. So it is located on a busy street in a residential area. So there is only street parking wherever you can find it. Do not get discouraged by looking for parking because once you find a spot, it will be worth it when you taste the food. There is a good amount of seating in the indoor dining area and a few tables outside. The menu is massive and can be a bit overwhelming if you are indecisive. Our server was super helpful and was able to help the indecisive ones in our party. Serving sizes were huge. So come hungry and you will leave full. I knew this spot was a local fave by how full the dining area got after about an hour. Also by the large amounts of take out service that was also happening( we sat in the front dining area so I had a view of everything going on near the entrance). Man I'm beyond full after dining at this restaurant. When we first drove by, it looked tiny. There's a sign on door saying there's parking across the street. Not sure if they meant a lot, but didn't see one so we parked on the street. Upon walking in there were 4 parties ahead of us, but was relieved when I saw how many tables there were. The dining area is right in front & goes straight back & up. The tables are close together but, they are large tables so you're not actually sitting on top of your neighbor. There was barely a 10 min wait before we were seated. We were immediately greeted by our waitress & drinks were ordered. We had the Oreo Milkshake & the Iced Caramel coffee. Our mouths dropped when we saw how big they were. Large mason jars presented with wide boba straws. The oreo was topped & rimmed with oreo crumbles whipped cream, a maraschino cherry & a edible flower. The iced coffee, was just iced coffee. It was good but didn't have much caramel flavor, even tho it was dripping down the jar. For food, we ordered the Combo & chicken & waffles (don't remember the menu name). All were delicious. Even though I love my options, my favorite was the latter. The chicken & waffles comes stacked high with actual wings rather than tenders or breast. The fry on the wings are perfection, so crispy. The waffle is thick, not fluffy or airy. The whipped cream is sturdy & delish as well & will not melt anytime soon. The combo came with 3 fat mozzarella sticks. The cheese pull was phenomenal & there's an abundance of cheese, so much that it almost choked me. The egg was runnier than an over medium egg should be, but that runny yolk was needed for the hashbrown skillet bowl. Thank you Chef! What's also good about this business is that they help you to not waste any food or drink. Along with boxes, they also provide to go cups w/lids! I don't remember what I got for dinner, but we did brunch recently and I got a breakfast burrito, my partner got eggs Benedict, and we shared the Tres leches pancakes. The breakfast burrito was decent, though too dry for me. My partner liked his eggs Benedict mostly, just said the English muffin got soggy very quickly. And the pancakes were amazing. Stopped here on first road trip with baby. Service was super friendly and fast. Drinks come in a massive mason jar with lots of ice - coffee was strong so it didn't taste watered down and we took the rest with us, horchata was so good I finished it. Chilaquiles were good, added the steak - was a lot of food, chicken burrito was good, simple but very tasty. We ate outside and it was the perfect day, lots of shade with the surrounding trees and umbrellas. One of my FAVORITE lowkey spots in Hartford! First thing's first: If you're looking for somewhere to turn up, this is not the place for you. Rumors are true, there is no alcohol here. Now on to why you need to come here and say "forget bottomless": The food at A&M is so tasty and you can tell there's a lot of TLC that goes into each plate. Since I usually can't decide on a savory or sweet plate, I'll regularly opt for the Brunch plate which has a little bit of everything. This time, I got the Tuscan chicken sandwich and the pesto was so flavorful, I'm still thinking about it. My friends got the brunch plate and peanut butter waffles which they were satisfied with. The service is always impeccable and unless you're coming post-church, it's likely you'll be sat very quickly. Friendly and helpful staff, great food with a good selection for different palates, fabulous presentation and attention to detail on all of their plates. The restaurant is broken up in a few smaller rooms so each one feels a little more cozy and it doesn't turn into one big echo chamber. This is an interesting review to do. The restaurant is located in not the greatest section of town. Lots of broken glass on the sidewalks, street parking that's so narrow you're liable to be hit by a car exiting your own... in all, it isn't a great introduction to the place. Inside, however, is an older period home that's been converted to a very welcoming restaurant. We came during winter and the place was stifling hot; all heaters were maxed out and I actually felt a little dizzy from the temperature change. We were seated at the end of the "lobby" and my chair's placement blocked many people trying to squeeze by... not my fault, but just the design of putting two four-person tables in close proximity to each other doesn't leave room for traffic. The menu is quite extensive and breakfast is served all day. Half the fam wanted sweet items, the other wanted savory. The portions are massive for the cost. A stack of pancakes (3) measure a good 4" off the plate, and no one will ever complain they're hungry after the meal. The savory dishes were great. Lots of American & Mexican options, and many fusion combos of the two (Mexican style omelets and even nacho-like creations with French fries instead of corn tortilla chips). Now for the sweet. If you have a sweet tooth-- and don't mind a side dish of diabetes, this is your place. For myself and my son, however, it was too sweet by far. He ordered the churro pancakes, wanting a cinnamon-pancake concoction. What arrived were three pancakes with a churro embedded inside (like a spear), topped with tres leches sauce, whipped cream, and (as if that wasn't enough) caramel drizzle. He ate two bites and said he was done-- he was too worried he'd be sleeping all day, and the sugar started to make him feel sick. He was also turned off by all the multicolored glitter art on the edges of the plate; he wasn't sure that was edible, and frankly neither were we. My own blueberry pancakes were less sweet, but that's not saying much. They were covered in whipped cream and a similar sauce; after a couple bites, I began dissecting the pancakes just to retrieve the blueberries within and call it done. Drinks on the menu were surprisingly expensive... $9 for a smoothie. When the table next to us ordered some, they arrived with huge tops of whipped cream and sprinkles. There's a trend here. What I did like was how welcoming the place is, and overall we did feel comfortable. But the food's sugar content was so high, it was almost inedible (for the seeet dishes). If/when I return, I'll definitely skip everything sweet and just go for a nice Mexican-style eggs Benedict or a lunch item instead. read more

A fellow elite friend of mine recommended this place for brunch. Hubs and I decided to give it a try and boy are we glad we did. It is a cute and quaint, unassuming location with a very pleasant staff who greeted us as soon as we walked through the door.
