Moe's is always consistent. Friendly service from the time you walk in the door until you leave. When you walk in, you walk to the counter to start your order (I always get the earmuffs and a side of queso - their chips are AMAZING and always warm). You pick your toppings as you go down the line and then pay at the end. There are no servers/waitstaff and I've watched others leave their trash lay - please pick up after yourself people! Quality, freshness of food and friendliness of staff is always top-notch and the fact that you pick out what toppings go in your food, if it's not good then it's your own fault really. read more

Location shares parking lot with shops. Not the best but not bad. Food quality is okay. Seating is good. Drink fountain is always out of half the drinks. This location gets a 1 star because I tried to eat here more times than not, with issues. They are either not taking walk ins and only doing online. Out of some kind of food or something. Waited 30 minutes for my phone order. Finally I got in line behind people that had showed up after us, they pulled my order from the bottom of a stack of paper bags. The sign claims they are open until 9 but don't bother trying if it's past 8:30. I actually like this place however I have an issue with them saying they are open until 9 but then actually closing early. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I had time to grab something to go (I would never sit down that close to closing) only to get there and realize they have closed early again. Nice easy dinner with 2 of my kids. They've never been but loved it. We all had burritos (junior size for the boys) with chips and queso. I ventured into several salsa selections but the kids didn't. I was there tonight Sunday, December 13, a heavyset girl waited on us and she was very unpleasant. We got there well before they closed and they had about a tablespoon of pulled pork left and said they didn't have anymore. They didn't have any of the ranch dressing that we like. They also didn't have any tofu left. Of course we didn't notice that until we started putting together our bowls. I paid two dollars for a queso sauce, and she literally put like a teaspoon of sauce on my bowl. When she put on the lettuce she actually flicked it onto the salad with a gloved hand, and then did the same thing with the onions, she was clearly not happy where she works. I never write reviews but I have ordered too many times from this place and my order is always messed up. The first time there was a mistake we had ordered 4 bowls. 3 meats and one tofu, we received 1 tofu, 1 chicken and the other two did not have any meat. The second time we ordered 3 bowls and none of them came with the meat we ordered. Today it happened again. 3 bowls, one was supposed to be tofu and 2 steak. We received a coupon for free burritos so we did take out on a Friday night. This place is mediocre at best. First, the menu is confusing if it's your first time. We obviously wanted burritos, but they have weird names that indicate no difference between the burritos. Then, they didn't ask whether we wanted white or whole wheat tortilla. What really bothered me was how sloppy they make the burritos. They don't strain out the juices of the meat and beans enough, that the burrito itself is way to soggy to eat. A little moist is good, I like moisture, but wet is hard to eat and kind of yucky. They literally just slap on the ingredients with no care. They don't spread the meat around so half the burrito had meat, the other didn't. I came up with spots that had a mega dose of guac, and the rest had none. It's not appetizing. And the guy had to ask my husband three times what meat he wanted, and made a mistake on the kind of beans he wanted. Seriously, listen up and use your brain. Down the assembly line, a different guy finished off our burritos and carelessly asked if we wanted anything else in our burrito. Well, what other toppings do you have?! It's just so half assed and no sense of service. I expected more from a national chain. They need to train their employees better and actually make their food better, if they have a motto of good meats and fresh ingredients. Moe's is a new addition to Happy Valley. Now, we already have a Q'doba and a Chipotle so why is Moe's a big deal? This place is BRIGHT when you walk in, very reminiscent of Tijuana Flats (totally miss that place!), it makes you feel like you are in. College Union Center. It's just a nice place to be in. As you walk down the queue, the first issue pops up. The food board, or menu is EXTREMELY confusing, especially to first time visitors. Nothing is laid out well. It was especially frustrating to non adults. The next issue arises when you try to order. As you are trying to decipher their menu, the workers in the store all scream "Welcome to Moe's!!" Every time someone comes in. I get the schitck, CiCi's Pizza did it, but better. There was a ton of confusion trying to get the orders out and in order but once you received your food, the story changes. My bowl, whatever it was called was amazing. Great flavor, not too spicy, and very large portions. They didn't skimp on the toppings either. It was nice seeing more than 4 slices of black olives on the bowl. The main reason why I'm giving this 4 stars, is because this is a new location and there will be mistakes and confusion. I will revisit this review and update it next time I eat there. read more

I have to say that the service I received today was atrocious. I had ordered online with the intention of picking up my order relatively promptly. A five minute wait would've been fine, but I waited for my order for 32 minutes! What's worse is that walk-in customers who arrived after me received their food orders before I did! I feel like they should've prioritized online orders, especially ones that were already significantly overdue. To top it all off, I never received any apology from the employees or at least saw them take any concern that I had to wait as long as I did. My fifth visit already, I can't seem to stay away. Welcome to State College, Moe's! I would imagine that most tickets are under 10, but that about 25% are over $10. Filling enough, but not worth the 2x price from Taco Bell. The menu is deeply confusing and I think self-indulgent. Essentially, I think, what you buy here is: a small or large; with low price meat, high price meat, or vegetarian. And with or without guac. And choice of base. The rest is self-indulgent nonsense. You might as well just go the counter and answer: large or small, type of meat, quac? and thing you want it on, tortilla, tacos (soft or hard) or chips. I think they would help you out. Service was basically fine. The salsa bar is ok. nice almost. almost worth another star. as for atmosphere, I would choose 'bright airport foodcourt'. I could see going back, but would not particularly look forward to it. Right in my favorite plaza less than a few miles from PSU's campus, Moe's has been a great addition. They have amazing food and their employees get better at their jobs everyday, considering the place is barely a month old. They treat their customers with respect, try to answer any questions, and really accommodate me when I come into the store. I always feel like I order something different at Moe's considering their vast array of fresh ingredients.. which is probably why I return so often. My sister, her boyfriend, and I all went to Moe's on Father's Day for a late lunch. There weren't many people in the restaurant and everything seemed to be pretty clean. Almost all of our food was great (I had a quesadilla, my sister a stack, and her boyfriend a bowl) but we got a small guac to share and it was horrible. I've made guacamole a thousand times and this stuff was just overly salty and disgusting. The reason I am writing this review however isn't because of the food itself but mainly because of the staff working. I went up to the counter girl just to let her know about the guac in case of someone else complaining to them... I FIRMLY stated I was just trying to be nice and the girl named Ashley looked at me, grabbed her stomach, and said even if it's salty I'll eat it! ......... It was super inappropriate and she didn't do anything about it other than make a mockery of the situation. I found this to be ridiculous from someone just trying to LET THEM KNOW and HELP THEM OUT in case someone else complained. Then... the meat portions on several occasions have been very very sad. Very little meat. Chipotle gives WAY more. This used to be one of my favorite places. But it is no longer vegetarian-friendly. The employees push the meat down with their hands, then proceed to put their meat-covered gloves in everything else, like the rice, cheese, lettuce and onions. So there's a good chance anything you order has at least some meat in it. If this is brought to their attention, they will simply argue with you and talk about you to each other once they think you have left. Once they realize you have caught them talking about you, the "manager" will come over and inform you that anytime you eat there, there is a chance of cross-contamination and there's nothing they can do about it. This was never an issue for years when they used scoops and spoons, but I guess they no longer care. read more

I was excited about the prospect of a place on this end of town, that (at least in part) supports sustainable farming, cooks their meat and vegetarian dishes separately, offers organic tofu, and where I could easily grab a burrito with the kids. However, two out of the three times we've visited this Moe's (one take-out, two pick-ups), they have messed up our order. Our second time there, our burritos ordered without cheese and salsa, came with both ingredients mixed in, and our tacos ordered without salsa came with lots of salsa. **Note: When a toddler says "No pico de gallo", thou shalt not attempt to feed the toddler pico de gallo unless you have an ark handy. On our third visit, my burrito ordered with extra lettuce came with zero lettuce, and a burrito ordered with cheese, came without cheese. I checked the bags each time, and the order was accurately taken, just not so much with the execution... The atmosphere led us to carry-out on our first visit (initially, we had planned on eating there), and to order take-out from then on. It's really loud and I just can't deal with the non-stop yelly nature of the place. (IMO, "Welcome to Moe's!" gets really old after five minutes, but that's just me and I get that some people might like that sort of thing.) So there you have it...that's been my experience so far. I am probably willing to revisit this place again in a few months after they've had a chance to work out all the kinks. Moes is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat with lots of ingredients/options. I was in a rush today so I decided to order ahead on the app. Didn't realize the ingredients that I ordered would be taken more as a suggestion than actually put into my dish. Normally, Moes is consistent and I always get what I ask for, but I don't think I will be ordering through the app again. First off, I ordered a chicken salad but when I got my salad there was no chicken... Not convenient especially when I paid to get the chicken on there and not for just a veggie salad. But I figured whatever no big deal. As I continued to eat my salad I realized they also didn't put the cheese on that I asked for and they put it in a crispy shell which I specifically checked I didn't want. At the end of the day it was still a good tasting salad and it was a lot of food just wish I got what I ordered. read more
