WORST experience ever...I ordered and PAID on the app... I had the confirmation to show this...When I got to the store they had no record of my order. They refused to look at my phone confirmation/receipt. They called the manager. He also wouldn't look at my confirmation. On the receipt it said problem with your order? call the store. I pushed that button and the store phone rang. Manager didn't care. He kicked me out of the store and refused to let me pay even though I had already paid. I called corportate and they said looking at my order it went to Littleton. Nowhere on the app did I order from Littleton. I have pictures of my receipt to 831 Main Street Waltham. I can now see in my order history the order was sent to Littleton but that is not where I placed it as confirmed by my confirmation. Corporate also would not allow me to send in my proof of receipt. I find it amusing that I'm writing a favorable review for a fast-food joint in New England, and funnier that I'm a Los Angeleno reviewing a tex-mex place. But yes, I really like it here. I expect the worst when I go to fast-food Mexican-ish joints, therefore I was pleasantly surprised at my experience here last night. Super cute staff of enthusiastic girl servers, amazingly clean, spacious, and even the bathroom could put a few hotels to shame. Very comfortable atmosphere. It took me a few minutes to understand and decipher the menu, but my group ended up getting tacos and something called a 'stack', which I consider the Tex-Mex cousin to the Calzone, with both a soft and hard shell taco stuffed with...... well..... taco stuff. The soda machine was like a contraption from the set of "Back to the Future" with all kinds of coolness. No question about walking into this place. Recommend it with a smile :) read more

FABULOUS customer service, delicious food, and competitive catering prices. I ordered catering for a large corporate event through this Moe's location and found that Steve, the owner of this chain branch, was incredibly accommodating (answering calls from his personal phone the night before, figuring out a way to make delivery work when my order was so last-minute and other deliveries were scheduled for the same time, gave great portion suggestions). He's very hands-on, and does what he can to keep his customers happy and coming back- though the food does that without his help! I'll definitely go back to Moe's for future catering needs :) read more

Better than Chipotle. And you get free tortilla chips! This location is especially crowded weekdays at lunchtime (11:30-1:pm) and the lines are out the door most of the time. It's worth it though. Ingredients are very fresh and you get to watch as they make your burrito. I always get a full size one, but a junior size one is available as well. My favorite burrito is The Homewrecker. Usually I would give Moes, and even this Moes, a 5 star rating. Last night, however, was a miserable experience. My burrito was so terrible, my queso was cold, and my roommates quesadilla was not made correctly. It was obvious they were training someone, but that really came through in the product. For example, my roommate got the chicken club quesadilla and they didn't add bacon, even the person supervising him didn't remember to add the bacon (which they certainly charge for). I got a Joey Jr, like I always do, and it was so bad. If I had the time, they would have been remaking it but we had appointments to get to and were already running behind. My tortilla was stale, the pinto beans were not cooked thoroughly and were hard, the cheese in my burrito also did not melt, at all meaning all of the ingredients were luke warm at best. How can Moes have bad queso? It's so disheartening. Just replace it. It was 7pm, not closing time, just do things right people. Also, if the guy you are training does not know what goes in each item, he shouldn't be on the line. That is training 101; learn ingredients and how to prep properly, THEN hit the line and put those new skills to use. It was an absolute embarrassment and I feel bad for the guy actually training as he got no real guidance. Lastly, it is really really upsetting to see the Assistant Manager constantly high. This comes through in how the staff acts when he is there, and also in the quality of the product they put out. When the actual manager is there, the experience is top notch and always perfect; she really cares and understands that while she makes a hundred burritos a day, you aren't eating a hundred burritos a day so she does a great job which is super appreciated. After living in Waltham for a while, I finally made it to Moe's and give their stuff a try. The food quality is just okay, not as good as Chipotle, in my opinion. The burritos tasted a bit different from other ones that I've tried, though I'm not sure if it was the ingredients or the way they cook things.. You get everything that usually comes in a burrito like rice, beans, different veggies, meat, etc. On Mondays, you can grab any burrito choice for $6 which is super affordable. Add guacamole too! (still $6) Everything comes with chips and salsa, so that's a nice add. I love the fresh salsa station where they put out a few different salsas for you to grab. The ambience is similar to McDonald's... with simple booths and tables, not much effort put into the design/ decors here. It's definitely not as modern and nicely designed like Chipotle or Boloco. I would probably come back here for the Monday deals, but to be honest, I'd rather go to Chipotle or other local Mexican restaurants with better food. read more

Ordered catering for a small work event, and it was great! Their taco kits were super high quality (and pretty covid-friendly in terms of shared meals) for our group. They were also pretty affordable at $40 for 5 tacos. They do take a while for the team to prepare, and we were told they are unfortunately not available earlier than 12:45. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. THE FOOD IS DISGUSTING AND THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE SPAM. IF I COULD, I WOULDN'T EVEN RATE THIS PLACE 1 STAR. I was in the neighborhood and wanted to try Moe's since I've never had it before and this location just opened up. And I can honestly say that this is the worst chain restaurant I've ever been to. There are 5 reasons why. 1) As soon as I entered, I was yelled at by 6 employees saying "WELCOME TO MOE'S". It seemed really forced and insincere. It was as if I just entered a room full of fraternity brothers, and it wasn't welcoming at all. 2) During dinner, I saw employees scoffing at negative reviews on Yelp and replacing them with ones that have 5-stars. They mocked previous comments and laughed at the fact that someone wrote that the food is bland. Any reviews made by people that just recently joined yelp and rated this restaurant 5-stars cannot be trusted. 3) The food is bland. I would never have paid so much for a rice bowl if I knew that it tasted horrible. There was no flavor in anything and my chicken was dry. 4) To make up for the lack of flavoring in the food, they give you a giant portion of chips and have a "salsa" bar open. First off, the chips do not taste fresh. Secondly, the salsas are watered down and you'd be better off getting jarred supermarket salsa instead.The "hot" salsa is completely bland and 2 out of the 5 salsas had a very strange after taste. I don't know if they were old or not refrigerated well, but I can promise you that it was not worth the money. 5) The prices are horrendous. Considering the bland food and disappointing chips and salsa, I wish I never spent my money. The portions are also really small, if you take away the chips. The burrito at Chipotle's is at least 30% bigger and actually has flavor. I would have much rather went to Carl's or even Margarita's (even though Margarita's food isn't great to begin with). So if you're looking for a recently opened location in Waltham that has people screaming every couple minutes and awful food that's insanely priced, go to Moe's. Otherwise, I suggest you try Carl's (their burritos are AWESOME and worth every penny). read more

I love Moe's! I got the chicken quesadilla and it was delicious. They only use fresh ingredients (the manager told me they don't even have a freezer on the premises) not to mention hormone free chicken. The soda machine is pretty cool too...check it out and you'll see what I mean. Employees are friendly and the seating area is kept very clean. I think of Moe's as like Chipotle's cousin from down south that visits every summer. I was first introduced to Moe's during my college years in Atlanta, and had no idea there was one here in Waltham. Moe's is pretty cool but what I like best is the salsa bar with the different variety of salsa choices. The mango-lime is delicious. They also have one of those touch screen drink machines with every flavor option, can anyone say strawberry/peach Fanta? Overall I think the food is average just like Chipotle. Moe's would be just as popular if there were more, but that will probably take years because the north is always super late with opening hot businesses that are thriving in other parts of the nation. read more

My fiancee has been a fan of Moe's for years and finally decided to take me there for lunch earlier today. I'm not opposed to trying out a new spot although I do remain cautious when it comes to chains. We snagged a spot in their private lot in the back, walked around and right in and were welcomed to a "Welcome to Moe's" cheer, something that the staff does every single time someone walks in. Every. Single. Time. I tried to decypher the menu but gave up and decided to get exactly what my fiancee got, which was a taco shell-less salad known as the 'Close Talker' with some beans and various toppings. Mine featured grilled steak, guacamole, grilled onions, black beans, cheese, olives, cilantro and vinaigrette. You get to customize it though and you can have it your way. She had hers with chicken and a Southwestern dressing. The whole salad was put together quickly and featured romaine leafs. I wasn't a huge fan of seeing their staff but hot, black beans on a cold salad. You could see it cause the greens to wilt a bit. The steak was decently seasoned but was very dry. The only redeeming element in there was the guacamole which was awesome and the complimentary chips that you can get as you pay at the register. The staff was very friendly and the entire ordering process was very quick. We also added 2 sodas from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine and our total came to just under $23, which I thought was pretty steep. The plus: + An awesome salsa bar featuring 5-6 different takes on it including a very unique tapenade-like one + Complimentary chips to go with their salsa bar + Coca-Cola Freestyle machine + Very clean bathrooms + Friendly staff + Private parking lot in rear + Friendly staff and decent atmosphere + No microwaves are used there + A lot of their food and ingredients are prepped fresh, daily The minus: - Food average at best - Seemed expensive - Coca-Cola Freestyle machine out of all diet sodas while we were there - like seriously, there was the full calorie soda and seltzer only. The menu itself has more than just salads though, and you can get burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos and even something known as 'Stacks' which is like a quesadilla-like pocket of cheese and sauce. Personally, I'd much rather drive to Taqueria El Amigo which is only 1.4 miles from Moe's, as their food is much better however there is a place for both in Waltham and Moe's isn't necessarily a bad addition, especially since they are open until 10PM, which is much later than most places in the area. And they also do make an effort to try and prepare a lot of their stuff fresh, daily. I can appreciate it and would much rather have a Moe's than a McDonald's nearby but that being said, this just isn't really my cup of tea. Average it is, and average it will be. read more

I can't get Moe's satisfaction. But I tried (rice bowl), and I tried (veggie burrito), and I tried (free chips), and I tried (salsa bar) . . . The folks who work here are friendly enough. And the space is super-clean (including the restroom). If I were coming here for those reasons alone, I'd easily give them a solid four stars. But I go to restaurants for the food. And this food was just plain disappointing. Not to mention, the first time I came here (at lunchtime), it took me 30-plus minutes from the time I got in line to the time I walked out the door with my meal to go. For semi-fast food, that's unacceptable. If you're looking for stick to your ribs glop to fill the hunger in your belly, then perhaps you'll be happy here. Their menu board is not easy to understand...why can't you make it simple? Why can't you streamline it so those of us who are WELCOME TO MOE'S! trying to make up our minds. The shouting...I don't care what kind of a restaurant you have, but shouting at the customers welcoming them upon arrival is the least necessary thing you can do to make customers feel welcome. Why? Because I am in line, waiting for food, being shouted past at other customers. I waited forever behind people who had never ordered a burrito before and I stood there, waiting. It really felt like forever especially when WELCOME TO MOE'S! seemed to jolt their concentration while ordering. Finally, it was my turn to order and WELCOME TO MOE'S! I couldn't remember what I had decided on. I had to go around the other people in line and remember what the heck I was ordering since there wasn't a highly visible menu board while in line and go back to the front of the line and order. I ordered, got my food and some Carvel for my lady since she loves Carvel. That was the plus, so she had a little dessert before dinner on the way home to eat. We got home and both started eating...and there was sadness. Sadness at a lackluster burrito. Sadness at salsa that I could whip up better at home. There was no flavor, there was little kick. I order burritos to get something better than what I could make at home. We both gave up. I tried to give my cat some of the leftover meat from the burritos. He wasn't having it. My cat was then sad because the food that smelled good didn't taste good. I give it a star for not killing me and a star for having Carvel, but I'm very sad at the quality of product. read more

I thought i had already reviewed this place but i guess not. When this place first opened up i wouldnt give it more than 2 stars i thought it was terrible. I live about 5 minutes away walking and havent been here in months, probably more than a year because i got a bad impression. The Staff seemed like they didnt know what they were doing, they would be cheap on the meat and it was pretty expensive. I even went back a couple months later because its not fair to judge a place when they first open up and it still didnt change my mind at all. But today i was heading to Subway down Main st on my lunch break with a friend and asked him if he wanted to give Moes another chance and we decided to go in. Still greated with the " Welcome to Moes" when we walked in. We both got the Chicken Club Quesadilla i think it was? and it was really good. Ive gotten it before and this was way better now. I was asked if i wanted rice and beans on it and they didnt hold back on the chicken or any other ingredients like they did before. The queso was still on point which was probably the only thing i liked about Moes when i originally came in. Staff was real nice and friendly too i think the girl making the quesdillas name was Kim who was the Manager and then the quesadilla was brought to the table i was sitting it once it was ready which is a plus. Im glad the Keno Parlor is gone . YES. I like the location and i dont have to climb up route 2 to get back home like i do from Chipotles. The tacos were fairly decent. There were way too many chairs the place needs less chairs. Way less chairs. Its nice to be able to have some personal space.. I couldnt even get through the tables without hitting a chair and im no fatty. The welcome to Moes things was a little overbearing but, i'm guessing they're just doing what they are told. I'm a big fan of a good crunchy taco and I've been surprised how hard it has been to find a decent taco in the Waltham area since I moved here almost 10 years ago. Tango Mango on Moody Street was the first place I found that made a decent crunchy taco, but they ended up closing up shop and the taco search started up again. Enter Moe's... This place is awesome. All the food is so fresh and of the highest quality. Meats (chicken, beef, pork, etc) are all either free range or grass-fed, which means alot to some people and really does translate to better overall quality. Marinades, sauces, and queso are mostly all made in house and are also very tasty. Shells, tortillas, and chips are all made on site and are of much higher quality than your basic Ortega brand from the grocery store (which Tango Mango used for their crunchy shells at least). If I had to pick a favorite, it'd have to be the pork. Delicious. Beyond the crunchy tacos, Moe's has some great other options including burritos, quesadillas, salads, etc (all with cool, clever names) and a Carvel machine with all kinds of toppings if you're sticking around for some dessert. All are top notch and reasonably priced. Employees at Moe's are always very friendly and eager to greet you as you walk through the door. They all seem to know their jobs well and move quickly and efficiently. Even when the place is very busy, the lines move quickly and wait times are limited which is not always the case at some of the competitor's shops. Parking is easy to find either on the street at a meter, in a small shared lot behind the building, or across the street at CVS / Hannaford's. Some people are loyal to Chipotle, some are loyal to Q'doba, some Taco Bell, and so on. I have tried them all and Moe's is certainly at the top of the list. Do yourself a favor and try it! I love this place! I love the Chicken Club Quesadilla (chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, beans, cheese, and chipotle ranch dressing with a side of sour cream.). This is where I go to when I need a burrito/quesadilla fix. I highly recommend the chicken club quesadilla. But if you want a slight crunch to your quesadilla, then go do the "Wrong Doug" (beef/chicken/steak, beans, cheese, pico de gallo and Moe's Famous Queso stacked between two crunchy corn shells wrapped in a grilled tortilla) Never had a bad visit due to food nor service.
