Still impressed with this Guatemalan / Mexican place. The shrimp enchiladas was decent, though perhaps too creamy and the shrimp weren't identified as clearly as it should have been. The Chile Relleno Chapín was tasty, though the pepper could have tasted more like a bell pepper, and then then beef could have been more differentiated. The Molcajete De Mariscos was varied with a bunch of different seafood types, and though tasty, probably a bit salty. The tortilla chips were warmed and fresh as always, and the tortillas were soft and a nice complement to the meal. As always very good food! And nice atmosphere as well. read more

Came for a weekday lunch and ordered a lengua taco and chicken enchilada combo and a steak burrito. The food was not good: the meat was tough and sparse in both dishes, the flavors bland, even the hot sauce was not that spicy or flavorful. The horchata was fine. The restaurant was almost empty when we visited, so maybe the food is better during a busier time. Service was nice but inefficient. Interior is nicely decorated and spacious. We were interested in trying the tripe soup but found on the menu that it's only available on weekends. Given the toughness of the meats though, I'm not angling to come for the tripe anytime soon. read more

Great patio, great food, to notch servers! The patio is on a bit of a busy street, but that just allows you to be a little loud and not disturb people near you. We love this spot! It's open late, we always can get a table, and they are so nice. I enjoy when they serve complimentary chips and salsa. We also love the pupusas, the nachos, and their horchata. My kids love the tacos and Jarrito sodas. I try to eat in because they use styrofoam takeout. Parking can be tight so I park on the main road instead. Delicious! read more

This has been our go to Mexican restaurant for years, has always served top quality authentic food and cocktails. Unfortunately things have gone down hill over the course of the past 6 months or so. Food has become hit and miss, after a few so-so meals, we decided to give it another try late April... everything was great Went there this past Saturday night, and experienced the trifecta of a bad night out. Poor cocktails Poor service Poor meal Ordered Cadillac Margaritas, paid for a premium cocktail, contained little if any alcohol. Generally the drinks are strong, and high quality not this time. Poor service Other than taking orders, delivering cocktails and food, never saw the server the entire night. Thankfully we were able to get the attention of the male bartender who ALWAYS delivers top quality service and makes great cocktails. He made our second round of margaritas....outstanding Poor food I had the fajita burrito...steak was under cooked, and not seasoned...refried beans were so salty virtually inedible. My companion had the chicken fajita burrito...meat was bland and way overcooked, refried beans too salty to eat. These are our usual go to meals, so we know what to expect and this wasn't it....would have sent them back, except our server went MIA. Come on, I know you can do better. read more

This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant but I was very disappointed tonight. My chicken inside my chicken chimichanga was dry and burnt. I ordered a side of mole sauce, it used to be excellent. Tonight it was very liquidy and the sauce was reddish. It used to be thick and a deep brown. Not sure if this place has changed hands or not but I was not impressed. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she just kind of shrugged it off. It will be a long time before I come back. If I could give 2.5 stars I would, 3 stars is being generous. read more

Tbh I have no idea what I ordered. It's just something my friend recommended and obviously he's been here several times so he knows what to order. It came w tortillas as well and I love to have it w tortillas cuz the original rice is a bit salty if you just eat it alone. I also love my Mexican soda I got a mango flavor. My friend has a Jamaica which is also pretty good too. Our server was incredibly polite, quick, and accommodating to my beautiful but sometimes challenging dining companion ("Can I have an enchilada but without the tortilla?") They brought out the "enchilada" (usually a 1-plate item) as a 3-plate "burrito bowl" with the sauce and beans separate. -Starter chips were warm, crispy, and tasty. Cons: -Could really benefit from some renovating. This place is dated. -Can't put less than $10 on a card, so bring cash or go big -- Chicken Tacos Mexicanos ($2.25 per taco) I was duped by the description of "two corn tortillas" -- it doesn't come with two tacos, just one taco encased in two tortillas. Is that typical? I didn't see the point, and ended up with 2 uneaten tortillas after eating my tacos. Luckily, that was my only complaint for these petite little tacos. The chicken was cut into very small pieces so it was easy to eat and seasoned to perfection. Toppings were simple cilantro and onion. They were delicious in their simplicity without the pico, lettuce, and all that jazz (if you want that, you can go with the tex-mex tacos for a little more money - $3/taco). I also ordered a side of guacamole ($2.99), which was a good call. It was a decent sized bowl and it was fresh, creamy, and flavorful. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience! I had the Enchiladas for my meal and they were excellent, maybe not the best I ever had but very good. The portions here are massive, and the quality is also excellent. Our group of 5 all ordered different meals and everyone raved about their food. The telltale question on any review is if you would come again. The answer to that question is not "If" but "How often." I could eat there weekly, order a different entree (in general) but Pepe Boquitas is on the list every meal. Upon asking our waitress, after seeing her walk around to multiple tables with her mask not covering her nose we asked her to cover her face. She said she had been busy. We said this wasn't acceptable and her response was 'you should just have stayed home!' Completely unacceptable. An update after talking to the manager. The issue still occurred but the owner agreed to address the ignorant comment and the lack of following the state guidelines on masks. The service at paisanos is extremely rude and unprofessional. The food is mediocre and bland. I ordered 2 orders of Garnachas and the lady answering the phone told me there would be a 30 minute wait time to pick up. I came to pick up the food and when I got home the food was soggy and cold. I called the restaurant and they told me the food had sat there for 30 minutes and that's why it was soggy! And they couldn't do anything about it. Unbelievable, they don't care about customer satisfaction or the delivery of fresh quality food to a paying customer. read more

They do have pretty good run of the bar food, such as the wings which comes with fries in a huge portion. Price wise-the portions are a hefty size for the price. Both for the food and drinks. Unlike other reviews, I've never had an issue with the service. Maybe once there was a decent wait for food but we didn't notice while drinking. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking to get out of there quick. There is an older crowd who usually sits at the bar, plays Keno. But I think this adds to the ambiance. We found this humble little Mexican joint.. don't let the appearance fool you. The food and drinks were GREAT!! I kinda love this place now. We started off with some pupusas, chips and salsa and from there we were hooked! We enjoyed our entrees, the service, and best of all.. the margaritas were strong and yummy.
