This is the first time I visited this moes usually I go to the other one on Williston Road Where I have always had a wonderful experience! At this moes location in Williston nobody said welcome to Moe's when you came in and I waited in line for a very long time the service was slow I was disappointed that I didn't have the taco shell bowl to put my salad in but I was still charged the regular price ...just really disappointed

Store was dirty. Kitchen was filthy and in a state of chaos. We were not welcomed to Moe's. Front line employees did not appear even slightly motivated. Employee who wrapped my fish taco cracked the shell. Could not tell which employee was running the show. No adults in evidence. They have one of those fancy coke fountains that will dispense any flavor of Coca Cola branded soda. Too bad it was broken, and they had no backup way of dispensing soda. We have a 10-month-old. High chairs are a cool design, but were disgusting. Straps need laundering and seat needs a good degreasing.

    lol ok

i'm sorry but someone really served me this and thought yeah this is good LMFAO. nobody at this moe's cares at all the place is FILTHY. seriously drive the extra 10 minutes to the south burlington one everyone is friendly there and ... it's clean. i wish i could give this negative stars

    Tiny $15 burrito.

Loved the burritos since I was a young boy. Service is fairly fast and the indoor area is nice.

They take no shortcuts here, and make their scratch sauces and condiments in-house. I had the huevos rancheros 'Christmas' style, with both green tomatillo and red chipotle sauce. YUM. They really should bottle that stuff! Hubs ordered the blackstone benedict, featuring their poblano cream sauce. Absolutely outstanding! Even the classic muffin, egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich was tasty. They also serve great coffee, freshly roasted just down the block at their sister shop, Nest. We appreciated the free refills while dining in too! This is a special spot for people who enjoy good flavorful food. Don't miss it.

To help, I decided to get my own syrup. Then I asked the cook for butter; he threw it into my hand, which triggered a reaction in a disabled veteran. I asked him if he meant to throw it, and he told me to go sit down, which I did not do. He said he would call the police, and I told him, "Call them." I asked for a refund since I had not touched the food. I was told no, and I recorded everything, including videos and pictures of the server and the man who threw the butter, who refused to refund my money. I contacted my bank about a fraudulent charge since I never touched the food. They are investigating and have access to the pictures and videos. Never again, and I recommend whoever is reading this not to spend their money, especially if you are brown.

It's a small spot with a classic mom-and-pop vibe, which we really enjoyed. We ordered the yam tacos and a chicken quesadilla. The service was friendly, though the food did take quite a while to come out. Once it did arrive, everything was very good and definitely hit the spot. Overall, we liked the food and would return. However, make sure to check your bill before leaving. We didn't notice until afterward that our total for tacos, a quesadilla, and two waters came to $44.02. My husband ordered his quesadilla plain and asked if the usual toppings (salsa, guacamole, and sour cream) came with it and could be put on the side. We were told they were included--but we were still charged extra for each topping, adding almost $5 to our bill. While the food and service were good and we'd go back, being charged extra for items that were supposed to come with the meal was disappointing. Just be sure to review your check closely so you don't end up with unnecessary upcharges.

TLDR: it's way overpriced for the quality ($18 for a sandwich and $16 for 2 tacos, no sides). Counter service and you buff your own tables but they still expect a 20% tip. The flavors tasted bad and the ingredients were not fresh. Not clean, and messy inside. Overall, avoid. It's got taco in the name, so I ordered tacos. First they were out of the fresh fish ( I love a good fish taco) so I got the smoked chicken thighs with guac and cilantro- easy enough. My partner got the smoked chicken sandwich, and we sat at the bar. It took like 20 minutes to get our food, one other person was waiting as well. Fine, not a big deal. Our food comes- on melamine cafeteria plates, no sides. I couldn't see guac, but they said it was under the chicken. Strange I thought, usually places love to show off the guac, but fine, the portion of meat looked good. First bite, tasted not bad, was cold, no guac. I take another bite and learned why they hid the guac: it was spoiled. It tasted sour. I thought maybe they put too much lime in- I should have stopped right there. As bad as sub par as my food was, my partner fared worse: he got a smoked chicken sandwich and the bread was burnt, the kimchi (!) overpowered everything and there was not a hint of romesco or cilantro to be found. After we ate, we had to bus our own plates, which I didn't realize when we checked out and paid the standard 20% tip. Our total for 2 tacos, 1 sandwich and 1 draught beer came to $56. I give this place an overall F, with a couple points for a creative name. In a town with few great Mexican options, this one has to be the worst. Avoid Mad Taco Essex, go to El Comal in Williston or Doña Esa in Burlington (I ate there a day ago and it was great). It seems like a stoner joint (they have something called the Bid Daddy Fatty on the menu) not that I have a problem with that sorth of thing - but I prefer the food I pay for to be on pointe, not sloppy.

It pains me to write this review, but after many major fails, I have to speak up, because, there is something rotten in the state of Vermont. This local franchise has rested on it laurels for years, and very often deserved; but over the past two years it has gone downhill, so far in fact, it's basically a rest area pit toilet. My most recent order is in the photos, but the general experience is the same between the South Burlington and Williston locations: hope, disappointment, and disgust. The South Burlington locations specializes in extremely overcooked chicken sandwiches and sad, soggy fries. I gave up on that location months ago. Earlier tonight, I gave the Williston location another chance; well, we all make mistakes. To say it was disgusting and inedible is an understatement, but the presentation was just plain creepy - (see photos) - it looked like someone tore off/ate a piece of the over-sized nugget they sold as a "chicken breast" sandwich. All of my "just doesn't look right" sensors went off. This was very, very unsettling. I put it in the trash where it belongs. I'm very upset that I spent my money and literally had to throw it away. The burger would have been salvageable (if i wasn't already creeped out by the "chicken sandwich" with a chunk missing). Besides, they put a cup of mayo on it. They put so much mayo on it, it not only liquefied the bun, but had begun liquefying the cardboard box it was in! This place is typical Burlington, Vermont mentality. Completely self-absorbed, self-important, and self-righteous - they think their stuff does not stink - and have no ability to process constructive criticism. Honestly, don't wasn't your time and money here. Go to Al's French Fries (Williston Road, South Burlington) if you want truly good, local, and sanitary food. Go to McDonald's if you can't get to Al's. Either way, you will get better food than at this self-righteous, stoned-out/"vibed-out," incompetent clown show.

My neighbors & I are woken by blaring contemporary music. I'm not a fan but let's be honest it's probably not considered the most banging music of all time. The car will be on its way soon & I can go back to sleep. Right? Nope! The music continues blaring, so I'm up now. I see a text from my neighbor. He's pretty unhappy and reports the music is coming from a food truck. One of the gentlemen in my building went outside to investigate where the music was coming from & discovered it's the El Gato Cantina food truck bumping his music from a sub. He says a guy working in the truck told him to eff-off. I guess contemporary music can be banging cuz it's certainly rocking my bedroom windows. And the people who vibe out to it aren't calm sweet souls. It's pouring rain, I get my dog suited up & we head outside for a morning wee. Upon walking outside I realize just how loud this sound system is & I decide to kindly ask them to turn down the music. Maybe a female will get a different response. I knock on the open front door. There's a man holding a broom. I ask "Can u plz turn that down, it's not even 9AM sir" This rude entitled jerk waves his hand at me as if I'm a gnat, and responds. " yeah yeah, get the F out of here." I respond with, "sir This is our neighborhood and you woke many of us up can u plz turn it down." I walked away. I have no desire to hang around to see what other profanity he's planning to throw my way. I waited a good 10 minutes or so and when the music kept blaring, I stood in front of his truck and called SAPD. He turned it down before the cruiser got there. But seriously? This is how your business treats our community? You expect us to want anything to do with your business? Honestly, stay in Burlington/Essex with that nonsense. Saint Albans at 7:30 AM on a Saturday morning is not the place for you. This business is not in it to serve our community. I highly recommend giving this food truck a pass.
