I came in to replace my two front tires yesterday and was told by Johnny that they didn't have my current brand, Bridgestone, in stock and that it would need to be ordered. Since I was already there, I went ahead with the tires they had available. About 20 minutes after leaving, I told my husband what happened and he said I should have waited to get the same set of Bridgestone tires. I had no idea, since I'm not knowledgeable about tires. I immediately called Johnny back and asked if I could speak to a manager to see if they could make an exception since I had just left the shop. He told me that once the tires leave the shop, they are considered used--even though they sell used tires--and that the only option would be to purchase a new set. That would have cost me about $700 more, on top of the $300 I had already spent, totaling around $1,000. I was disappointed they couldn't make any adjustment, especially since no guidance or recommendations were provided upfront--Johnny only mentioned that Bridgestone wasn't in stock. These options weren't discussed when I called the day before either. As a customer, I relied on their expertise, and I feel important information that could have helped me make a better decision was missing. We recently had a flat tire and got it replaced at Moe's Tires. The staff was friendly and helpful. One important thing to be aware of is that RoadX tires are the only kind they keep in stock - all other tires have to ordered for you. Since the other 3 of our tires were Goodyear brand, we wanted to stick with the same brand for our replacement - Moe's ordered a Goodyear tire for us on a Sunday evening, and received it by Monday morning - we then went back in for them to install it. Got a nail in my tire recently. Didn't go flat, but needed to deal with it asap. Came in when they opened the next morning and they offered to patch it for a really good price. They decided it was too close to the sidewall to patch (that was my initial thought too so I wasn't surprised they changed their mind). Got both back tires replaced (my choice, they were going to just do one) and was done all within 45min, including me wavering away for baklava next door. They fixed it for $45 in under an hour and rotated the tires (front to back on both sides) for free. The waiting room has wi-fi and a TV and is comfortable enough. Tire service itself was quick and fast. Cheapest service I could find on Yelp. However, they make you wait in line outside blocking the bus stop. I ended up getting a ticket due to blocking the bus stop, so they need to manage this better. What was supposed to be a $40 tire change ended up costing me $150. These guys are seriously amazing. It felt like I was in and out of there with my punctured tire in less than 15 minutes. I didn't even have time to take a photo of the very cool, colorful, and artsy bench made of tires in the waiting. It cost just $35, and everyone there was so nice. So I did not just fall off the turnip truck, I've been in more than one situation where I was probably seen as an easy mark and told I needed to buy a full set of new tires, and sold a me a single one when I balked. I once said I would dispose of the old tire, myself, and brought it to another tire shop for kicks and giggles, where I learned it most definitely could have been patched. I was very appreciative of the honesty at Moe's. The waiting area is comfortable and has free Wi-Fi, though as I mentioned before, I wouldn't have had much time to use it. Called back in april for 2 used tires for my 09 camry. Women picked up when i called, then was handed off to an older gentleman who said at the moment dont have my size tire but give him my name and number and he will let me know when he gets more in a few days. Todays almost end of August and not a call back or anything. Ive left yelp messages and just an all around horrible customer service. I was quoted $100 flat including all fees for a full synthetic oil change for my 2011 VW Jetta via Yelp and also over the phone which was cheaper than other SF/South Bay shops, including some big chain brands. Most shops are closed on Sundays, but not this one! Note that their other two locations are closed on Sundays though. I came on a Sunday and there was no wait. The shop is large for SF standards and conveniently located on Mission Street. As soon as I pulled in, someone came to direct me to where to park. I handed over the keys, then was greeted with someone else with an iPad to fill out my first-time customer info. They have a nice, neat, spacious waiting area with guest WiFi, fresh drip coffee, disposable cups, water dispenser, small fan, small space heater, a TV, DVD's, books, and magazines. The shop is a vibe. Music was bumping and guys were wearing "I *heart* Moe's" hoodies haha. So different from other quiet, drab shops I've been to. The service took 40-45 minutes total. Not the fastest but not bad. Docked a star because 1) slow/unresponsive via Yelp (it's best to call directly), 2) customer service was ok (they're curt and to-the-point), 3) they didn't seem confident when answering a question about my engine oil. I'm sure they're experts on tires, but maybe not other auto issues. Overall, I still recommend this spot for a routine oil change! read more

Man what can I say. Sunday night at 6:00 PM my car tells me my tire pressure is extremely low and decreasing fast. (Stupid Nail) I give them a call and they tell me to bring it in. After a nerve racking 20 minute drive from the Sunset to the shop I arrived on 9 psi in the back tire and tilting drastically. Literally 15 minutes later I was driving out the door back to normal. I had already made amends that the bill was going to be big and then as I went to pull out my credit card I was really shocked. A fricking low ass price that left me money for the Kick ass BBQ across the street. What a save of the weekend. No more driving to San Bruno for me anymore they have a new customer! I had some unexpected bad luck getting my tires slashed by SFMTA truck. I needed tires, and I need them fast. For the record, I am particular about my rubber, and I don't want just any tire. I called Ali at Moe's Tires, and he was very clear and helpful. They were transparent about pricing and availability. They took care of me as quickly as possible (given they did not stock my tires).
