No sense in adding a photo. Made an appointment for 10 AM, it is now 1 PM and they haven't even looked at my car. They are super short staffed, and the gentleman at the front desk is super frustrated because his hands are tied. The manager was there for a little bit and then disappeared, and I basically wasted three hours on my day off just to have absolutely nothing under my car. I'll give it zero out of zero stars if I could, not to speak ill of the employees because I did not have a bad interaction with any of them, but I'll speak ill of the management and how they're running this business. Don't go unless you're planning on waiting 5 to 6 hours or more for an oil change. They have a great deal where they'll give you 25 bucks off of the oil change, and then they'll send you a $25 gift card, but it's kind of useless if you can't get your damn oil changed lol Go somewhere else. read more

I came here on a Tuesday morning because of some side wall damage I had on a tire. I didn't schedule an appointment so I got there at 6:30am to make sure I was first in line. Because of my concern with the tire I was in a scramble to find a place and I drive by wheel works everyday to go to work. The evening before I had called and asked if they had my tire in stock, which they said they did, so I let them know I'd come in the morning. A technician looked at my car and told me my tire was fine and the damage was just cosmetic and he did not recommend changing the tire. So I left thinking my tire was fine. A few days later I looked at my tire again and saw exposed wire, so I called back to let them know I think the technician was wrong. The person I spoke to on the phone, Tim, was extremely rude. I asked him if they had my tire in stock for replacement (again) and he said no. I asked why I had been told they did and he said "whoever you spoke to falsified that", it was literally Tim who I spoke to when I first called. All in all the service was very unprofessional, careless, and could've been a major safety issue. I was able to get my tire changed at a locally owned shop. I highly recommend staying away from chain shops and supporting smaller businesses. read more

I called to have a nail removed from the right rear tire. They said to come right in. The service person was very nice and acknowledgeable. The service for the tire repair was done in less then 1 hour. After the repair, I was driving home with no worries. This is the best place for tire service in the Bayarea that I have been. We called to request a tire change and the company that they use was not able to on the side of the road in the city and they took our money and told us we would get a text for whenever they found someone to change the tires. After an hour we called and they told us to keep waiting, after another hour we called and they told us to keep waiting and after that hour we called and they told us to keep waiting. After four hours they have done nothing for us now it's nighttime and we still have to figure out how to change our tire because there's no way we're gonna keep waiting after four hours. Absolutely terrible, I wish I would've called someone else instead of wasting four hours on this. I asked them to cancel called someone else and they were here in 20 minutes. Update: the guy responsible purposefully cancelled my refund even after involving the police. He is the manager at the location. "FRANCISCO ORTEGA". Now fighting a dispute w bank and potentially taking to small claims court. Go to any other location. Reported to the district manager Mike Del Monte and I advise anyone else who has negative experiences with him to do the same Ordered $1k tires, arrived next morning at opening, in the span of 5 minutes the guy (5'9", overweight large man, Native American/mexican guy, brown eyes, braided or pony tail-8ish hair) immediately had an attitude and bad tone with me. Kept talking over me. I told him he's being rude and asked him why he had an attitude with me and then he got upset with me, and of course we bickered back and forth, I told him to give me my tires and I'd just go somewhere else then he refused (no receipt) so I called the police, who showed up and made sure he refunded me. Never in my life have I come across a guy like this who for no apparent reason was just off a bad one that morning but the fact that he was so rude astounded me. Right off the rip for no reason????? Very communicative, letting me know via email and text about my vehicle. I appreciate personable service, especially from people in the service industry. The entire front desk has always been very professional and accommodating. I will continue using Wheel works because I know the service I'm going to receive and my vehicles are always very well taken care of. They ask me if I need anything else like windshield wipers, or oil change, which often I forget. So I am very thankful that they remind me so I don't miss out on getting maintenance when I need it. He always did his best to get you in and out quickly, efficiently, and with the best deal he could possibly give you. BE AWARE- I've been coming to the SF location for over a decade. & have always been amazed how much they accommodate in volume. Earlier this year I got some tires & had something of value taken from my trunk. It wasn't obvious that the item was there& I understand that nothing of value should be left in the car. It would have taken someone going thru everything in the trunk & nothing else was taken. In all of my time coming to this location- the car's either been with the tech or parked/locked. I took my car in with an appointment early in the morning for a simple alignment and tire rotation The guys told me it will be done couple hours. Went in and replaced 4 tires. Told me it will take 1.5-2 hrs. So I waited. Ended up taking 4 hrs and the shop was already closed and I had to ask about timing. So definitely the timing is off with what they committed. I can see the car was there without anyone working on it. seems that they didn't have enough people working. Also found out they are no longer independently owned and service is definitely not like before. Further update on this. Noticed the wheel was shaking while on the freeway so looked like the tires were not balanced. I didn't want to deal with Wheelworks anymore although it would have been free but I lost confidence. I brought my car back to the dealer to have them check the balancing. Told me the balancing are all off so they had to re balance. Also said not sure why they sold me the run flat tires becoz they would be more noisy than what I had. So I am downgrading my experience from 2 to 1 Star and too bad I could not give 0 Star. In January 2025, I replaced my tires with four brand-new Bridgestones and had an alignment done. I was charged $229.99 for a lifetime alignment warranty, bringing the total to $1,382.61. The tire pressures were set at 33. In May 2025, I had an oil and filter change, battery check, tire pressures check and alignment. On April 30, 2026, I brought my car in for an oil and filter change, tire pressure check, rotation, and alignment. I returned on May 16 because my tire pressure light had come on. Stephen asked an employee named Kenny, Asian to check the pressure. While I was waiting, I observed Kenny prioritize a White male, Tesla owner who arrived after me and bypassed the front counter, while repeatedly asking me to wait. He talked to the Tesla owner (Lift) twice, checked the pressures, and pumped air for 20 minutes. When Kenny finally checked the pressure for my tires, I heard him say 35, 33, 34, and 33. After spending two minutes on them, he said there was nothing wrong. I asked why the dashboard light was on. He said the tires were over-inflated, but he did not add or release any air. The situation escalated when I attempted to exit the shop as advised by Stephen. A Prius, owned by the Asian man Kenny was servicing, blocked my path. He was taking his time checking the tire pressures and pumping air. Despite my waiting and repeated honking, Kenny ignored my requests to clear the exit. Out of frustration with the lack of professionalism and the blocked exit, I asked why are you blocking the exit? A Prius owner responded that it was not him, and pointed at Kenny. Then I made a remark about the situation. Kenny refused to move and parked a Prius behind a white Honda, license plate 8YSX7**, on the left in under a minute. I sought assistance from another customer service representative named Tim, who tried to help navigate my car back to the entrance. Later, Kenny approached me and repeatedly yelled, "You are stupid!" Another worker, Edwin, who is Latino, confronted me twice regarding my previous remark. He said that I should not make that remark to Kenny because I am a female, but he said nothing regarding Kenny's verbal abuse toward me or blocked exit. I later discovered Edwin told Tim my remark in front of a male, Asian customer inside the office. If a Black or White male customer made the same remark, Edwin would not dare to gossip and spread rumors about them in front of coworkers or in the presence of customers. I called Stephen, customer service to report this incident. When I asked him if he already heard about this incident, he replied, "Yes." He stated that the workers were overwhelmed and expressed that cars often had to block the entrance and exit. Furthermore, I was told not to make that remark to Kenny after I mentioned Edwin's behavior. When I did, he responded that it was not discrimination because I am a female. He also advised me to speak to John, manager on Monday; however, I feel the staff sided with Kenny and Edwin regardless of their behavior toward me and I believe John would not do anything about this matter after reading negative comments about him. When I requested Stephen to remove my personal information from their system because I am no longer doing business with them due to the disrespectful treatment I received and the unprofessional conduct of Kenny and Edwin, Stephen said that he could not do it. After I started the ignition the next day, the light was still flashing. I will take my car to a shop that values my bussiness and will do a thorough job. I want my $229.99 back. I would not recommend that Asian females get their cars serviced here, as they may feel intimidated by Kenny or Edwin. Edwin abused work time by twice leaving workstation while assigned to the white Toyota (7EPG8**) to report my remark to his coworker in front of an Asian male customer. No action is taken, as these individuals seem protected. They are not concerned about customer safety, including blocking the entrance and exit. They failed to comply with Title 8, Section 3225 of the California Code of Regulations dictates that exits must remain clear, and obstacles cannot block or hide them. Even temporary blockages are not permitted under this code. read more

We brought our company truck to Wheel Works at 7:00 a.m. to have two tires installed, as instructed by their staff. When we returned at approximately 12:00 p.m., we were disappointed to find that no work had been done on the vehicle. I asked for an estimated timeframe for completion, and the employee wearing a name tag that read "Steve" responded in a very rude and dismissive manner. Without making eye contact, he looked at the truck and stated, "They haven't started it--it's going to be a while." When I followed up by asking if he had any idea how long the process typically takes, he looked at me angrily, then turned away and said nothing further. I stood there for about two minutes waiting for clarification, but it became clear that he had no intention of continuing the conversation or addressing my questions. I ultimately left due to the lack of communication and respect. The experience was highly unprofessional, and the customer service was extremely poor. *URGENT* Heed caution and read the recent reviews before going here. Don't end up like the other 1 star reviews and regret coming here. These people are crooks and take advantage of people who don't know cars and do whatever they can to take your money. Here's my story: my tire pressure was off for my front driver side tire for a few days, so I brought it in to be serviced. They gave me a 3 hour estimate (it was busy so it was somewhat expected). They finished much earlier but said it would be an additional $5 for every 5 minutes left at their shop, I have never heard of such a thing! Picked up my vehicle to which they said it was a simple fix and just had a nail in my tire and that I no longer needed any further service. I drive away with my tire pressure still off - I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought my sensors just needed time to catch up. I had driven around the entire day and had gone home, that morning I found the same time was at 10 psi! Went back to bring it in overnight, shortly after they call me and tell me I have a large gash in my tire and would need new tires. Which was quite the opposite of what they told me the previous day and much more expensive. I had requested if there was a cheaper alternative and they said yes, and my question was why was that not offered to me initially? I requested that my initial service could be returned since the issue was not solved upon my first inspection, to which they declined. This is this best part: THEY SERVICED THE WRONG TIRE THE FIRST TIME. Even though I specified which tire was off, they still serviced a completely different tire and leave the actually damaged one untouched, causing me to drive on it for an entire day which possibly caused my car's new alignment issue. Being in a pinch, I had no other choice than to continue with the tire replacement but not without having to research more affordable alternatives on my own to which the sales representative, Christina, did not help with in the slightest. Upon pick up, I had a multitude of questions I wanted to ask to avoid something like this from happening again, to which of course the "star employee," Christina, simply did not want to answer. She brushed me off completely and asked me to meet her on the curb to wait for my car. Here's the cherry on top of it all, as I wait for Christina to retrieve my vehicle, SHE NEEDED ASSISTANCE IN DRIVING IT OUT. Such bad customer service that after spending 10 minutes talking to the guy at the front desk (will not write name) before my appointment i left and got a refund for my purchase with TireRack. We used to take our car here when we lived next door but even living in the mission now, we take our car here. The employees are either very friendly, or neutral. I'll take it! They also seem willing to tell it to you straight. I was there today and while my inspection results would tell me something that direly needs attention, they are willing to let me know what needs to be serviced ASAP and what can wait. I appreciate that, because it's not easy to spend a ton of money at once, but you want to keep your car safe to drive. The y understand that. The front desk person today also made sure that all the coupons applicable were applied. Didn't even have to ask. While it's not as convenient as a drive up oil change center, and they aren't as close as other shops near me, it's my first choice for service the past 4 years. I have never left feeling taken advantage of or icky about my experience. One thing: This shop is VERY. BUSY. So a tip I have is requesting an appointment in advance, and I also suggest making it for early. Service can really feel slow at this office. Lawrence helped get my handicapped mom a chair and gave her access to the bathroom when she needed it. He replaced my tire as quickly as he could and also did an alignment for us. I'll try to keep this simple and let you judge for yourself. I brought my car into Wheelworks because it was vibrating at 65 mph. After keeping it for two full days (about 16 hours total), they aligned, balanced, and rotated the tires--but the vibration issue was still there. I tried communicating with them, but It's like the lights are on but nobody's home.I tried customer service and even they could not get a hold of the shop for an assessment. At 5 PM on day two, 7 phone calls later and probably an hour of waiting time, they finally told me I might need new tires. Really? After two days and $210, that's your takeaway? And they wanted to keep my car for another day to try again. I was talking to a brick wall. They never answer the phone, don't return calls, and if you try to reach customer service, good luck. I did--and they offered me a $70 refund... but told me I had to go back to the shop in person to request it. Is this customer service or a prank? I ended up taking my car to Moe's Tire on Mission Street, and they were fantastic, professional, helpful and kind. Within 40 minutes and $55 later, they found the issue and fixed it. No more vibrations. Also worth noting: six months earlier, I took my wife's car to Wheelworks for four new tires and paid for new wiper blades. As I drove off, I realized the wipers were never even installed. That says everything about their quality control. Wheelworks is the perfect example of corporate carelessness--overpriced, unresponsive, and technically sloppy. I'll never go back, and I'd seriously recommend you don't either. read more

The folks at Wheel Works saved our Friday night! We were driving across the Bay Bridge for a long-planned night out in the city when we heard an ominous *click* *click* *click* from our car. When we got off the freeway to take a look, we saw an enormous screw, washer and all, sunk into our tire; the large washer kept the screw from disappearing into the tread, hence the clicking sound. The tire pressure gauge showed the pressure gradually ticking down. We had dinner reservations at 7:15 and it was 6:50 when we rolled into Wheel Works, ten minutes before they closed on a Friday night. We asked if they could help even though it was almost closing time. They took the job, pulled the tire, patched it, and got us back out the door by 7:05. We hadn't asked about the price in advance, because we knew they were doing us a favor and staying late to squeeze us in at the end of the night. When the bill came it was shockingly low, to the point that we tried to tip the tech who had agreed to do the tire for us--which he then refused! We even made it to dinner on time.
