I'm giving this place a fair review. If you're staying g here and don't want to leave the hotel then I guess it's ok. But don't come here if you're looking for good food with great service. When I came there were at least 35 people and it was just the bartender taking care of everyone both at the bar and the "restaurant". It took 35 minutes for him to come get our order. We got a steak that was pretty good, nothing g fancy. A smash burger with stale waffle Fries that left brown oil on the plate. I ate here twice over a span of 3 nights and they were out of Katsup the whole time. I mean, how hard is it to go to the local Safeway and get some katsup? This was the restaurant/bar in my hotel, so I figured I should give it a visit for drinks and appetizers. I love the bar setup, and it was a really fun vibe with all the tourists hanging out. Met some nice people visiting :) Beer selection was pretty good, and the appetizers I had were alright! Nothing bad just super greasy and yeh it was decent food. I think the 3 rating average they have is about right. Service made me feel like I was unwelcome which is unusual since I rarely get that vibe at places. We really liked this place. It was a slow night with only three other tables in the whole place. Our server was attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the chicken fingers with steak fries. The shrimp tacos were unreal! Seriously great stuff! We had some kind of lemon cello cake for dessert that was also very good. The atmosphere is rustic with brewery stuff up in the loft above the bar and old farmhouse implements and a buck mount on the wall. I'm sure if there was a big game in that the bar would be full of folks watching on the two televisions they have hanging. The bar was simple with several beers on tap. I say give this place a shot especially if you are staying at the Mountain Lodge. Prolly would have given them a 5 star if they wouldn't have cheaper us and charges us for the extra dipping sauce we asked for for the chicken fingers. The servers were so nice, but let's be honest, what you want before skiing is FOOD! The eggs were weird with hash browns mixed in (?) the bacon took literally 30 minutes to come out abd then there were 8 (yes, EIGHT!!!) pieces and they looked half cooked and we're very fatty (May I suggest Costco pre-cooked bacon? It's super yummy and takes 2 minutes to cook.) There's NO TEA as you need to go down to the lobby while your food gets cold and get your tea there (don't get me wrong, I appreciate yea in the lobby, but you CAN have it in 2 places at once). In fairness, my family and I did not even have any food - Because here we are on a Monday evening December 23rd at 8:00pm and the doors are closed. Seriously people?! The previous ownership may not have been perfect, but at least they stayed open to serve the hotel customers. We went to get back on the elevator and there were other people angry about it as well. The first reviewer must have caught the place on a very bad day. We have been here all week and the bartenders and staff have been great. The food may not be top tier gourmet but it was far from horrible. In fact it was quite good each time we ate there. (Pizza was surprisingly good!) They also catered a wedding party that we were attending in the resort and the food was excellent. True, the place caters mostly to lodge guests but so what? No long lines waiting to eat that way. Maybe not a five star location but a solid 3.5 - 4 in our opinion. read more

We had a great time here. The hotel, it's staff, and its decor is typical mountain town slacker, but the restaurant and bar staff were excellent. The vibe of the bar is different, and really better than anything else in the building, with a lot of wood, exposed beams, and a cool setup with the brew tanks above the bar. As Don B. exclaims in another review, the fried spinach is truly extra-ordinary. It's not oily, as you might imagine, and the light flakes of spinach melt in your mouth kinda like cotton candy. After trying this my thinking is "if you're going to use oil for salad dressing, why not fry the spinach instead?" I have no idea how to calculate the calories on this dude, but I imagine it can't be any worse than a typical salad with an oily vinaigrette. Very unique and something worth trying. It was on the same level as our room so we stopped by for a quick drink before and after dinner each night. By far and away the best aspect of our visits was our friendly and enthusiastic bar tender Topher. He was very attentive, immediately recognized us, never left us thirsty, and was always visibly excited about doing his job. I had an excellent manhattan, a delicious real-fruit margarita and a couple of solid-if-not-brilliant local beers over the course of our visits, but my wife's highlight was Topher's sweet pepper martini. It's a vodka martini that uses a bell pepper as the sour/bitter component. The result, with the sulphury flavors of the pepper balancing the sweet lemon of the vodka was truly clever and unique. If you find yourself here, and I think that the little bar is worth a trip, be sure to ask Topher for one of his sweet pepper martinis. Tell him that Jon and April sent you. read more

All I can say is ignore any reviews that are older than 3 months ago. Simply the best food and service in the area. Charcuterie board is amazing but the entrees are top notch as well. I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the pork chop and both dishes surpassed expectations. Great selection of local beer and wine. Absolutely atrocious. There really is nothing good about this place. It's a "brewery" that only has 2 of their own beers on tap. I'm really not sure if they know what the definition of a brewery is. The two beers they did have on tap - terrible. I make better beer and I am by no means a brewer. Food was awful. Salads that weren't dressed, creamed spinach which I'm pretty sure was just their spinach artichoke dip in a smaller bowl, $14 sandwiches that should have been $8. Over priced and hardly edible. Here's the ridiculous part. I saw more people wearing pajamas and shoeless than not. How the fuck do you allow people in your restaurant without shoes? And why the fuck are there so many people in pajamas? While we were there we also watched a mother and her two sons walk in in swim gear. That's right mom was in a bikini and the boy weren't wearing shirts or shoes. This place needs to burn to the ground so no one else has to suffer through this mess of a restaurant. The owner should be embarrassed and should shut this place down immediately. Hire all new staff, decorate the place like it's not a hotel lobby, make more beer and make it drinkable, and get some decent fairly priced food on the menu. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE ITS THE PLAGUE. read more

I have nothing bad or good to say about the hotel that Moffat Station is housed in. I didn't stay there. What I really came for, taking a time consuming drive over Berthoud Pass from I-70(even if it is 27 miles off of the interstate there are hair pin curves galore... it takes time to get to Winter Park), was to get beer. I am trying to hit as many breweries as possible. I was under the impression that the place would be open because I looked on their website to confirm. It had hours posted for bar and restaurant hours.... completely failing to mention that these were hours for when the ski season started and NOT during the off season. A drive over to Winter Park for nothing, a wild goose chase. Moffat Station is open during the off season but their hours are strange. Friday night, Saturday morning, Sunday evening... blah blah blah, are supposedly when they are open. Not a good experience. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! This "brewery" had one in house beer, a very ordinary Scottish Ale. Despite being virtually empty the kitchen took forever to make a hamburger. The portabello wrap came complete with several very long hairs cooked in. The hamburger came out raw. Heck, even the fries were awful. The bartender, who was clearly embarrassed to be working there, didn't charge us and gave us directions to a couple very good places in town. He also filled us in that the brew master is terrible and that the only business the Moffat gets is those staying at the hotel. Well, they do have food...if you can put up with the service! We waited 45 minutes and finally had to be assertive and ask for menus, a server, drinks, utensils, and our check. Basically we served ourselves. We were staying at the hotel the restaurant was in and the food and beer were really good. However, I have never received such poor service in my life! I would have complained to the Manager but she was one of the worst. I guess this property has gone through 2 Management changes in the last year. I thought I was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares or Bar Rescue. I would stay away from this place!!! read more

Slow service but polite (could just be that it is summer and raining outside). The food is way below average especially for the price. Fettuccini taste like it is from a jar and the chicken is totally bland. My wife had the chilly which also tastes like it is from a large can and not a good one. Kids had Mac and cheese. Moffat Station is my go-to spot for craft beer in Winter Park. Located inside the pet-friendly Winter Park Mountain Lodge across Highway 40 from the ski area, it's an easy stop for anyone who's coming in from a day on the slopes. The restaurant is very mountain-chic, with lots of wood giving the place a cabin feel. They have a large window with a fantastic view of all of Winter Park Mountain and plenty of board games to keep you busy. Yes, they've been doing the "board games and craft beer" thing since before it was cool. The brewing equipment is in a loft above the bar, and they even have a taxidermy buffalo head on the wall as a shout-out to their logo. They also have a solid selection of pub fare to nibble on while you relax. My favorite is their wings. The main attraction is of course the beer. Moffat Station has some great selections for microbrews. In past years they've run out of some of their offerings and didn't have much to choose from, but on my last visit they had a full slate of fantastic offerings. My favorite was the dark saison, which was very rich and just a little sour. We ended up getting a growler fill of that. The second place choice was the stout, which had a bold and full flavor. They also have a new promotion that started this year: buy a logo glass mug for $15 and get $2 refills. I bought one even though I don't live in Colorado anymore, because I know I'll still be coming back to Moffat Station. read more

My husband and I are staying at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge which is where this restaurant is located inside. We absolutely loved everything there from the delicious food to the friendly staff. Their chipotle buffalo wings were so delicious for the appetizer and we shared the hatch burger which was so amazing and perfectly cooked and on a homemade bun! The service was great and fast, we loved the 3 different tap beers we tried, snow bunny blonde, perky porter, and the not so banana beers! We would highly recommend everyone to come here, the decorations were so nice too! It's great for dinner date, hanging out at the bar, or playing pool. My husband and I are staying in the hotel, we were a bit concerned that the restaurant may not be that good. Boy were we wrong!! My husband ordered the wild game meatloaf, which was an individual sized meatloaf wrapped in bacon - tasted amazing!! I had a salad and carne asada tacos off the happy hour menu - both were delicious!! Oh, and the corn bread was to die for!! Fresh and moist, not dry like some cornbread can be. Before I go on the waitress was excellent and was so sweet about all of this, but wow, we had 4 people 2 half chickens (came out still bleeding) 1 Rueben sandwich ( corned beef was basically jerky 1 blackened trout sandwich (no seasoning, Pretty much was boiled and thrown on Bread. So after this mess the 2 chickens were taken away and we reordered cause who wants chicken after that. The two new orders were mac and cheese (take a guess) mac and cheese from the box drowned in sauce and no flavor. And the regular plate of blackened trout... flavorless and came with creamed spinach that was cheese and spinach. We thought for sure they couldn't mess up desert which we got on the house, but yes once again... the brownie was hard a rock... If you come to winter park please do yourself a favor and keep looking for somewhere else to eat read more

The nachos didn't even have melted cheese on them. The Mac and cheese my friend ordered was below freezing. Please read this and never come here. We stayed at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge so it was convenient for us. Food was great, but good enough.

The menu isn't the most eclectic, but the food is excellent. The chef, Mark, does a great creme brulee, as well a fantastic charbroiled burger. He also whips up an excellent broiled chicken salad. Mark's wife, Ginny, is a welcoming hostess with a great smile who looks out for the costumers. As a photographer and cinematographer, I travel a lot and the Moffat Station is great place to unwind and enjoy a great meal. read more

Excellent service! I don't think the two servers ever stopped moving. The menu covered me (vegetarian) and my husband (carnivore). He said it was in the top two burgers he has ever had, and that man has had some burgers. I had the black bean dip and the falafel, which were both tasty. NOT a brewery, do not be fooled by the sign/name. We were staying at the resort across the street, and as craft beer lovers, were intrigued by what we thought was a mountain town brewery. After climbing through some muddy snow & crossing Hwy 40, we were disappointed. This place does not brew their own beer. We were told a story that a brewer friend had dropped out to start a brewery in Aspen, and they had not gotten around to taking down the giant BREWERY sign hanging on the front of the building. Horrible experience. Ours was similar to the others we've read on here. Very disorganized. Took forever. Couldn't add up our tab. My wife just told the waitress to keep the difference in addition to the tip. Food was way overpriced. Burger was a charred hockey puck. Other guests were playing host and serving their own drinks because staff was nowhere to be found. Everyone we talk to in the lodge has a similar experience. They comped our charred inedible burger that we threw in the garbage and gave us two free drink vouchers. Don't even bother, but if you do please write a review it should be interesting. read more
