I called this practice to inquire about becoming a new patient and spoke with a receptionist named Jessica. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. While I was only asking basic questions that any new patient would want to know, she seemed bothered and dismissive. Her tone and responses came across as condescending and made me feel belittled for simply seeking information. At one point, the interaction was so uncomfortable that I even asked if I should call back at a better time, since she seemed inconvenienced by my questions. Instead of reassuring me, her response carried an unnecessary attitude. This is not the type of first impression that inspires confidence in a new patient. Strong customer service is a reflection of the practice as a whole, and I believe this office would benefit from better training on how to engage respectfully and professionally with prospective patients. I was genuinely interested in trying this practice, but based on this experience, I will be seeking care elsewhere. read more

Best dental experience EVER! From the front desk lady Kristy, to the hygienist Nat, and Dr. Nico, quality of care is mindful, courteous, efficient, meticulous, respectful, and genuine. I really appreciate that this dental business/Dr is holistically minded and respects your individual circumstances/concerns/needs. And even more so, I love that Dr Nico includes you in his diagnoses and processes so you can make an informed decision as opposed to a fear-based one. Dr Nico is the real deal and am beyond impressed by his knowledge, expertise, and precise techniques; especially not being aggressive with the use of Anesthesia. And Nat who cleaned my teeth was super gentle and always made sure nothing she was doing was uncomfortable. Then Kristy the front office receiver seemed to be a jack of all trades as she mans the front desk and assists with X-rays & anything else the dental hygienist and Doctor need; she's incredible. They lie too many patients about being in-network. They charge you different then what they quote you. The office in ran down with dirty damaged equipment. The X-ray shells they lay across you is torn. Yes the one that's supposed to protect you from the radiation. They don't know how to build rapport. Super crowded. The whole experience is just awkward. Why do they lie to so many people? Do they need money that bad? I really wanted to like them. Even if they were in network everything else I mentioned would have kept me from going back. I don't believe they will last too much longer with the way they conduct business. read more

Dr. Nico Moghtader is an excellent dentist. I have been going to his Whittier office for more than 20 years. He has the most gentle hands of any dentist. Prior to coming to his office, I feared going to the dentist; even my kids hated their routine check ups. All this changed when we switched dentist. Dr. Nico always ensures that I and my kids are not experiencing any discomfort and that we are relaxed. Its also apparent that Dr Nico takes pride in his work. He always ensures that his work is precise and looks natural and does not hurt. My family and I rate Dr. Nico 10 out of 10 stars. I cracked a composite that had been fixed multiple times and as my previous dentist had told me, Dr. Nico suggested veneers to keep this from happening... the great part is that he discounted the work for the previous composites even though he didn't do it. Both the temporaries and the final veneers were painless and smooth, and the final results look amazing. Couldn't be happier with him and the entire team. Posted this over a year ago and sadly no response from Dr. Nico or anyone on his team. Please note that my incident happened at his Wilshire location which does not have a claimed yelp page. I wish that I could leave a positive review, but unfortunately that is impossible for Dr. Nico's practice. I was referred to Dr. Nico via coworkers (one being related to the Dr. himself) thinking I would be in trusting hands. Prior to my first appointment, I was assured by the office manager Nelly, that my insurance was accepted and that I would be receiving treatments at the "in network rate". On my first appointment as I was sitting in the dentist's chair awaiting treatment, Nelly the office manager approached me with statements for treatment that was to ensue, which completely contradicted the rates she quoted. I was completely livid due to her approach of taking advantage of the situation with me being in the chair. It got heated because I did not let up, knowing what she had quoted. After the treatment, I paid what I was quoted and felt very suspicious of what had just happened. I had a last and final appointment with this place for a checkup. I was told that my digital X-rays were not clear enough for a pending crown and that they need another X-ray so they can see what they're working with. I sent these X-rays to 3 other practices since then which have all have confirmed they are 100% visible. I suspected that they wanted to just charge my insurance company for an unnecessary treatment. A week goes by and I get a letter from my insurance company confirming Dr. Nico is out of my network and that they charged my insurance company 1075.00 for treatment ! Due to this dishonesty and deceitfulness they have completely depleted my insurance funds until next year KNOWING that I need immediate treatment. What I want to know is how does a practice like this stay in business, cheating people out of their hard-earned insurance benefits ? I have reached out to Dr. Nico's office about all of what I have stated and still no answer. This is beyond unprofessional and I most certainly do not recommend this practice for your dental needs. read more

Dr. Nico has been my dentist for years. He's treated my coworker and his wife, as well as my own father since I've recommended him. I am amazed at how painless his work is, and how professional the office is run. Even on when on a tight budget, I feel that my concerns are met and addressed with sincerity and problem solving. It was 21 years since I went to a dentist before seeing Dr. Nico. All of my work was done with expert hands. I had both wisdom teeth removed in one day in a matter of a few hours. I did not take painkillers afterward and could eat solid food within a day and a half. I went to work the next day with only minor discomfort. Within a week I was completely back to normal. I've struggled with finding a dentist that I genuinely like and trust. A couple of months ago I started doing some research and made my first appointment with Dr. Nico. I've had a silver crown since I was about 11 and have been insecure about it ever since. I had my x-rays and cleaning done and Dr. Nico immediately addressed my silver crown situation and wanted to fix it. It was a pretty lengthy process but he was very patient with me and continued to work with me every step of the way. He was extremely gentle and took his time during every appt. Today I finally had my permanent crown installed and I couldn't be happier with my results! I have been recommending this place to family and friends, give this place a try. Dr. Nico has been my dentist for the past four years and have never had the caring and attentive service that I get not only when I come in for treatments but the after care as well! Dr. Nico has always followed up with me after my visits to ensure the after pain symptoms are not too discomforting- he definitely has a gentle touch! The response I get from his staff is quick and accommodating to my very busy schedule! I even got Invisalign from Dr. Nico, and after having braces three times for not wearing my retainer, I could never do that to Dr. Nico. The dentist himself is fantastic The two women who answered the phone on the other hand, terrible, rude, unfirendly and overal made me feel un welcomed. I went to nico since I was a little girl and I always thanked him for his work. He is so kind and thoughtful but overall does great dental work. I'd give fewer stars but it's not allowed. I went in for a filling but when it came time to pay the co-pay I was told I had to pay extra because porcelain fillings weren't covered. Would have been nice to be given the option prior to having work done. When I asked why he just didn't do the standard Mercury he said "it looks better"....yeah for his bottom line. That's just the beginning. I had to return for a root canal...what a NIGHTMARE! In the interim my job switch insurance providers. Prior to the service I gave the girl in the front office the update. She never mentioned any issues. After the procedure I went to pay the co-pay and was BAMBOOZLED with a huge bill! I was told it was because I am "out of network". I paid with my credit card because he cost was unexpected. Months later I got harassing phone calls from the girl at the front office saying I owed more! I asked to speak with Dr. Nico but was told he was in Beverly Hills and l wasn't available. Do yourself a favor.....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Side note, this happened over 3 years ago...a few weeks ago a "new" girl in the front office called me saying I still owe!!! This matter has long been settled with much distress. The business resembles a house so it just makes you feel more comfortable than some office in a 10 story building. The office staff consit of six employees, Chirsti, Jacklyn, Shervin, Ercia, Astrid and Dr. Nico. From the moment you walk in to when you are seated, you are greeted with a smile and are made feel welcomed. The staff is completly proessional, informative and are quick to answer and questions or concerns one may have. Dr.. Nico is gentle, patient, and describes what ever procedure he may be doing on his patients. Which in my opinion takes alittle of the "edge" off. I have recommended many friends and family to Dr. Nico and all have agreed hands down that this is a dental office that they will continue to go for treatments. The first time meeting Dr. Nico was a great experience. I'd been searching for a holistic dentist for over a year and I was thrilled to have found his office. Finding the perfect dentist that understood the impact food has in our well being was extremely important to my family and I. Finding Dr. Nico felt like our long search had finally ended. It had been a long while since I went to the dentist. So I needed a good amount of work. Dr. Nico and his staff made me feel very comfortable since my initial check up and diagnosis. I always had a fear of a needle going into my mouth since a child, when the dentist would just jam the needle into my gums. To be fair, the on site experience for my son's and my evaluation were great, the entire staff as well as the Dr. were very courteous, nice and informative. He said we needed a lot of work done and he was going to give me the written evaluation with cost, prioritizing the work as i needed a lot of work. I went to this doctor because he claims to be holistic which i disagree because he recommended to have my 2 root canals redone. ALL Root canals have been been proven to be 99% infected by Dr. Weston Price and his work has been verified and proven by many studies after him. He also recommended. He also recommended my son use a toothpaste with fluoride, a proven neurotoxin. Its been more than 3 weeks since we had the evaluation and after several calls, we still don't have the written estimate. I keep being told that he is very busy. My son and i have had all our work done; mercury fillings out, root canals, all at a fraction of the price at American Bio Dental. read more
