First mistake. She did not know what she was doing, she was calling Jess on how to proceed on coloring my hair. She left an orange ring on my head.. My hair is dark brown/black and I wanted a brown violet/red. I lost 3 hours during my first visit because I was told to come back another day so Jess could do it herself. .. I don't understand why she wasn't there the first time Fast forward I come back on a Friday. To be there from noon all the way up until 8pm. Yes. 9+ hrs The process was never explained to me until after she messed up and I had to come back a third time. Jess left around 4 pm to get chick fil a and left me in a chair for over an hour. She finishes at 8 pm - charges me 400+ 2 days later.. my hair looks like a hot Cheeto. I texted Jess to let her know I need to come back and she stalls!!! She kept pushing the time. Saying she was only free after 9 am, then saying 8 am was good. She ends up getting there after 10 am. I also brought a close friend who she rudely shut down and told her she wouldn't be speaking to. When I brought her because I needed the support. She sits me down and dyes my hair. Has me sign a liability waiver and doesn't blow dry or straighten my hair bc I had to step away to take a work call and I come back and she's with another client- she never said sit down I'll have another lady do it- no, she completely ignores me This lady has known my family for years.. I once admired her work ethic and how she treated others!! @salon blu, you lost me as a customer and my family of 6 who would come to you for every single need. You should be ashamed of yourself. Ladies if y'all need someone who's going to to respect your time and hair pls look elsewhere. The amount of tears, money, & hair I've lost throughout this process was not worth it and I don't wish it upon anyone else. Look elsewhere!!

My mom…read moreis getting up there in years and outside of medical appointments, she doesn't get out very often. I don't live in the area and am not able to take her out to get her hair done and she doesn't have much help at home with grooming since it's just her and my elderly father. In fact she was embarrassed about the condition of her hair and scalp. From the moment we walked in the Color Bar, we were treated with nothing but care and respect. Camilla was her hairstylist and was so kind and patient while we figured out what my mom wanted and how to get close to it. She took her time combing through her hair which was quite tangled. My moms scalp was tender and she was so gentle with her. She washed her hair and scalp multiple times as there was build-up, but she never made her feel uncomfortable about the condition of her hair. In fact they made her feel pampered. Jade, the wonderful receptionist, came over during the lengthy wash and massaged her hands and arms with lotion. My mom felt like a queen. Everyone was so patient and took some time to ensure my mom was getting the cut she wanted. Amanda, the team lead/hairstylist was busy with a customer herself as well as training another stylist who was practicing on a wig. Despite that, she took the time to consult with my mom to ensure she was getting what she wanted and took the time to show the other stylists some techniques to get the "softer" look my mom was wanting. They ended up washing her hair a second time after the cut to make sure they got all of the buildup off. Then they retouched and styled. I wish I had a before picture because the difference between that and the after version of my moms hair cannot be described accurately. She glowed and looked beautiful afterwards. She kept raving about it during lunch. I cannot thank everyone enough for what they have given my mom. It's much more than a haircut!

Despite that, I still had to wait for them to contact FedEx, and the claim wasn't filed until 08/04/25. I was told my replacement would ship earlier this week, and while it did ship on 08/11/25, I was never sent tracking information and there was no follow-up from the company. I had to reach out multiple times just to get updates, which made an already long wait even more frustrating. While they did ultimately send a replacement as a "courtesy," the entire process took over two weeks from the time I reported the issue, and the lack of proactive communication left me feeling like my concerns weren't a priority. I hope Mathis Salon and Spa improves their customer service follow-up and communication, because customers shouldn't have to chase down updates for orders they've already paid for.
