whenever i see above and beyond effort from another human, i make it a point to recognize it. andrew in the parts department is an example of a person who all employees should imitate. he not only helped me find the part that i needed for my vehicle, but he came out to my car and installled it quickly. i didnt even have to ask him, he sensed i needed the help and took care of me and my family. for that, i will be back to northstar in the future. thanks andrew. read more

Absolutely horrible experience here. I went in for an oil change with my 2 year old expecting it to take 45 minutes to an hour. They told me I needed new brakes after the hour had passed. After discussing it with my spouse, I gave them the go ahead to do it. Jamie McGuire, who was the service person I was dealing with said "I will have them get right on it". We killed time for a bit at the mall and came back about an hour later expecting some kind of update. The update was that the technician had gone on lunch but had started the job, so I couldn't even leave now with my toddler. We waited another TWO HOURS for my car to be done for a total of FOUR HOURS!!!! At no point did anyone explain the length of time it would take to get this job done. The owner of the dealership was sympathetic but offered me nothing other than a coupon for a free Hoffman's car wash. Gee, thanks. Just absolutely inconsiderate. I will never step foot in there again. I will gladly drive the extra miles to Denooyer Chevy next time I need anything done. read more

DO NOT trust Northstar chevrolet. When i bought my car in 2013 i was signed up for the free tire program and was told i would get free tires if i got all my service done at northstar. Well apparently the service department declining my front end alignment for me voided this program so now i will not be receiving my tires. I live in Massachusetts and come to clifton park to get a 50 dollar oil change that takes 4 hours, why would i decline this service? They are a bunch of scam artists. I wouldn't recommend Northstar to anyone. They are a horrible company. read more

over 2 weeks and still couldn't get their act together... sales person did not follow up on questions regarding a tow hitch or delivery options, my initial inquiry was for a grand cherokee to tow my camper with, so obviously either i needed one with a tow package or one to be installed. back and forth waiting for answers from service, or a manger or who knows who. couldnt get a vin, then asking me for previous title and registration info (knowing I had already told her I wasnt trading anything in) then someone else calls regarding financing, already told them I was paying cash.... just a hot mess all around. SO asked for my deposit back, then have to talk to a manager, and another manager, then the first manager AGAIN to get that back. nope nope nope.... on a happier note, I called BMW of south Albany and yes yes yes.... i called them at 9:30 am, found a grand cherokee 2 years newer, with 17000 LESS miles on it for $1700 less and it was delivered with a smile to my driveway that same evening. This place is bad news do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They can not even fix there own recall with out messing up my car starter. Now my starter does not work and they say it is not there problem. I did not buy the starter there. They wanted to do work that was not needed. I only went in there for the chevy recall. All the people that bring there car in for a recall I hope you do not have a car starter your car will shut down next time you try to use it. BEWARE BEWARE William Niles read more

I've had a horrible experience with this "old fashion, family oriented" dealership. I wasn't greeted until being there, walking the lot for almost half hr. I had already picked out the truck I wanted with stock # and price, I did the job of the sales person! Finally I was disgusted enough as I'm sharing my experience with a college as I'm there. He actually contacted someone he knew at DePaula Chevrolet located in Albany NY. On a side note I was shown the FB of the manager there Brandon Serittella and was disgusted at the post I saw... How does a company let such scum represent them with his ignorant views on a social media outlet. Guess if you have a manager with such immature, ignorant biggish views no wonder the staff is the way it is. Really hope this establishment gets it's together soon. read more

My Experience at North Star Chevrolet was terrible from the start. An issue arose concerning my trade in allowance. Attempting to resolve this issue over the phone turned out to be a major hassle. When you call North Star it's near impossible to speak to the same person twice. Causing confusion and frustration as a customer, after the issue was finally resolved I came to pick the truck up and sign paperwork. Come to find out the financing numbers were different than what I was told over the phone. (Trying to add 5 months onto my loan in order to cover up an insurance policy I was lied to about). After the paperwork was done and I got in my truck the check engine light was on. In my opinion there is no excuse for the check engine light to be on in a brand new car the day I go to pick it up. The next day when they were able to get the check engine light off. I asked what kind of compensation they could offer for all of the frustration. I was told if I fill out the customer survey with a perfect score, they would give me a free tank of gas. Not only is that a joke for compensation, but extremely unprofessional. The only reason I bought a truck here was because they had the exact one I wanted in stock. If it all possible avoid North Star Chevy like the plague. read more
