Great service, amazing food, horrible management. Pay the servers more. THE OWNER IS STINGYYYY. I'm a United States Marine, and was told discounts for veterans are only for their meal. I've been here multiple times and it's always been my whole bill. All of a sudden that's a problem? I already spent $40 and you only want to do 10% on the one meal? Sorry, but when you get me, you get my wife. We are one. On top of it all, $6.50 for two soft drinks where 80% of it is ice and no refill is ridiculous. This is the type of place where you get water, fill up on chips, eat one taco, and take the rest home and get extra chips. You would get more business, a better reputation and happier customers if you weren't so stingy. Would NOT recommend until there is better customer service, and the servers are actually paid decently. It's not on taxpayers to pay waiter and waitresses's wages. That is the business's job. Mojave is one of our favorite spots! Tucked into the corner of a small shopping plaza in White Lake, you'll find delicious Mexican food, friendly service, and a cool, relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I have been dining here since they opened and we keep coming back. The manager, Markos, is always there, and always stops by to say hi! We love him! Bartenders and waitstaff are kind and on point every time-- accurate with orders, make sure we have everything we need, and seem like the nicest coolest people! Anything you need, they're ON IT! One of the best things on the menu is the Southwest Egg Rolls. They are too good to be true! My go-to entrees are the Tacos Mexicanos w/ BBQ pork and the Southwest BBQ Chicken Salad (Order it, you won't be sorry!!) Hubby mixes it up nearly every time, but favors the fajitas, enchiladas, and street tacos. We have never ordered anything we didn't love! I get the "Skinny Chica" Margarita every time we're there, and upgrade it to a Jumbo (because why not?!) There is an extensive list of margaritas and tequilas, plus beer and other cocktails. Kind of a long store I will try to make is short, had an issue with a waitress about a year ago always charging me full price for my drinks during happy hours so I finally said something to her after a few times, her response was it was the computer, like oh well it's the computer doing it so my response was ok well fix it (she did not like that) so year later I come back with my same friend that I was with when that was happening (I did not notice it was the same waitress) she was taking our drink order and I asked for blackberry margarita and said is that on the happy hour menu and she started laughing when she did that I looked at my friend and said is this the same waitress she leaves with our drink order and a different waitress comes over to take our food order so my friend says did she not want to wait on us and the new waitress says no its shift change (but she stayed the entire time waiting on others so we got the hint) fast forward to yesterday (a week later) I am walking in and I see that same waitress talking to the hostess that seats people and laughing so I know what is being said so I get seated someone that was waiting for me and the waitress comes over and I order a drink and she brings it back and I say to her I just want to bring it to your attention that the other waitress is super rude every time I come in here and the other waitress just starts going off saying we are not going to be talking about this I have to work with these girls and we will not be talking about this and she leave the table and all three girls go into the back (the rude waitress, hostess and the new waitress) at this point I am sitting with my 2 sisters and said I am not eating here they may do something to my food. So, when I left I got my bill for my drink and in the tip line I put ZERO RUDE PEOPLE... So, if you can believe it the girl came running outside in the parking lot to find me because I didn't leave her a tip and asked what did she do to us so I told her for one you telling 3 grown people that this will not be talked about in here in a very aggressive tone was RUDE so you get not tip... Perfect dining experience. Weekly Friday neighbors dinner out. Party of 11 this week. Called and arranged reservation for 5:00 PM. There is plenty of free parking and street signage makes finding the facility without difficulty. Handicapped parking is provided near the entrance. Staggered arrival was accommodated without difficulty. Drinks, chips (warm) and salsa(s) (extra "spicy" requested and provided) delivered, additional beverages and chips provided as other diners arrived. Waitress (Brittany) helped us make selections from an extensive menu and ensured all of our needs were met without hovering. Drinks and chips were refilled without having to ask. Orders were taken, conversations continued and the environment was conducive for those with hearing issues. Food arrived for all 11 diners in a timely fashion. Presentation, quantity, accuracy of orders, and temperatures were excellent. Seating was appropriate for the many dishes presented for selections like fajitas. Everyone were pleased with their selections. My meal was steak and shrimp fajitas ($22) my spouse had Chicken Quesadillas ($16.50) and we both boxed significant portions to enjoy at home. There are at least 8 Mexican themed food outlets within 5 miles of our home. Mojave Mexican Cantina of White Lake has moved to the top of our list. read more

I would give this place about 3.5 stars while my husband would rate it around 3. We have our favorite places, but this restaurant was closer and we have driven past it several times and were curious how it tasted. I had read there was a following for their Clawson location which we have never visited either, but is usually a good sign. The place was fairly busy, and seemed to have accrued their own following. The chips and salsa tasted okay. The chips could have used some salt and due to the pandemic, they did not have any shakers on the table. The salsa was spicy in a good way, not overpowering the right amount of cilantro. I has their basic margarita. It was good, very strong (I'm a lightweight) and a great price! We both had a combo plate. The portions are not as big as where we usual frequent. But I did like the flavor. It also tasted great the next day since I am the leftover queen! To me, that is the telling sign, does it hold the flavor and/ or get better the next day. And...it did. I liked their crunchy taco, it tasted homemade instead of food service boxed shell. The chimichanga was pretty small, but tasty. I loved the cheese enchilada. It had amazing cheese pull! I liked their tomato based red sauce, very interesting. The prices were pretty good and the drink prices were amazing! I would come back just for their drinks and I will have to since I am not really good for more than one marg at a time. I am not sure if they currently have happy hour, but I saw they had brunch with mimosas, and mimosas are my absolute favorite. I would also like to try their desserts. I am a huge fan of Mojave Clawson location..it has been consistently good Mexican food for years. I was excited to see their new location close to my current home and easiest anticipated their opening for months. Of course, now that restaurants are forced to do takeout only, we had ro get carryout. I will say that the food is not nearly as good as Clawson. While there was nothing awful or gross about the food, it just was not the same standard of flavor you get at their first location. The portions are huge however, if you're into that. My husband's nachos were served in one of those large aluminum trays. Soooo many nachos. My enchiladas were just okay. They were not super flavorful unfortunately. This place has been awesome in the past. A hidden gem. Today, the dude behind the bar didn't wait for us, threw our menus on the table and ran. We waited almost 30 min and nobody came to greet us or get our drinks. I asked someone if they could find our waitperson and nobody ever came. They have struggled with service times since opening, however they opened during the pandemic which made things difficult for everyone. Their salsa is homemade and delicious! Excellent Mexican Fare! Our motorcycle group had our 2023 Tacopacolypse Taco Run Battle of the Champs ride this past Saturday and made our 3rd stop of 4 stops the 2022 Winner, Mojave Cantina. We arrived around 2:45 pm and the 11 of us were seated quickly and had beverages, fresh chips, and a fantastic arrangement of salsas served before we walked in the door! Of course, we called about 20 minutes ahead of time to let them know we were on our way, but that is great service all the same. The salsas and fresh warm chips were fantastic and a nice start to ready our already challenged appetite with their greatest taco creation. Out came their Birria Taco which stole the show and blew away the competition. It was like a Sunday meal in a tortilla. It came with a dipping sauce that was akin to an au jus with several interesting ingredients and certainly worked well with the taco. Out of 4 contenders that day, Mojave Cantina was the runaway winner in our competition nearly scoring perfectly in 6 categories. An incredible feat in itself when you have 11 voting. While generally I don't have a problem with the food, the service is rapidly going downhill. There weren't many people in the restaurant this evening, so why did I stand at the bar waiting for five to seven minutes for any of the employees to acknowledge my presence?
