Fajita Quesadilla Texana
Steven B.

Fantastic spot for authentic Mexican! Took my wife for dinner on a Friday night at one of our go-to places. We were seated right away, and warm chips with house salsa arrived as we sat down. I stuck with my favorite Fajitas Quesadilla Texana, and my wife got her usual Steak Nacho Fajita--both were spot-on, as always. The food here is consistently delicious and served fast. The restaurant was clean, and the servers were friendly and engaging. We'll definitely be back for more!

Chimichangas

El Patio was recommended by a friend, so my mom and I had to try it on the way home from our shopping trip. The booth we sat in was comfortable, and the service was very efficient. The chips and salsa were amazing. A large portion was provided and the salsa was fresh and not super spicy. I have to say, it was the best salsa I've ever had! For my entree I ordered the beef chimichangas which are covered in queso and served with rice and beans. My mom ordered the chicken chimichangas. My mom ended up finding some bones in hers. Luckily she had cut into it with a fork but it could've been bad if she had just bitten into it. I loved the steak ones and would get them again!

Me and my girlfriend regularly come to el patio and the service is always amazing in and out with great customer service from all the servers, the food it always amazing when we go and they never fails to impress, and it being so close to home makes the experience even better! Definitely recommend el patio if I could leave a 10 star review I would

Beef Chimichangas

Walked in and was greeted immediately by a friendly gentleman. I was seated in a booth. The restaurant is very clean and the booths are very beautiful. I love the rustic charm they have. I ordered the beef chimichanga platter, it was so delicious, it had this very delicate cheese sauce on it, which was the perfect touch for the beef. The beans were cooked perfect and so was the rice. My waiter was so attentive and friendly. This place was great! Look forward to coming back here. Ten Stars!!

Old guacamole

The burritos were not even folded properly, hence they fell apart. Cheese was melted on the outside and was completely watery. Guacamole was brown, and they said they were brown this time of year. I know the difference between fresh and dishes exposed to heat from a kitchen or oxygen. Sadly, I will never return.

Warm, perfectly crispy, not greasy chips and salsa delivered to our table as soon as we sat down.

My first visit here will not be my last! Our service was very fast and efficient. The chips and salsa he brought to the table were completely amazing. The chips were still hot and the salsa was so good I had to resist tipping the bowl into my mouth like it was a bowl of soup. We had great service and delicious, authentic food. I skipped the shell on my taco salad ( had to balance my carbs from eating that basket of chips) and it was still delicious! I don't know of a better, more authentic Mexican food restaurant in this zip code or in the couple of zip codes nearest. I'd recommend dessert from the menu. See my photos for the M&M's that have clearly been in the machine in the foyer for a bit too long. Or, skip dessert and eat more salsa and chips!!

This business makes some seriously good and authentic Mexican street taco's. My carne Asada…read more(Steak) and Al Pastor (pork) taco's were well made and ohhh sooo tasty. From the doubled up corn tortillas, to the tender well cooked meat, cilantro and their wonderful sautéed onions these Street style Taco's are as authentic as anything you would get in Mexico. The gratis house chips and Salsa were equally tasty and a nice complement to the Taco's all being washed down with a sugar cane based Mexican coke. The total bill came in at a very reasonable cost of $12 which is a great value in today's economy and a great deal by any standard. Relative to staff and facility, this appears to be a small family run business where the restaurant itself is located in a small strip mall at the corner of Franklin and Square Lake Rd with an equally small footprint for the restaurant. This is a very unpretentious business (think hole in a wall but in a nice way) with a limited number of dining tables and small staff. Having said that, I had no problem in getting seated and getting my order taken and food brought out in fairly quick order! I have been on a kick for a while now trying to find the best taco joint in the the northern Oakland county area and have to say this is as good as I have come across up to now and am a big fan of this business. If you are into well made authentic Mexican street taco's than this is a must visit for you. This was my first visit here and definately will not be my last where I will be combining this dining venue with my regular Bloomfield Hills Costco trips which is a Quarter mile from the restaurant.

It feels like we are clubbing in here. Can't have a conversation really. The corn chips are not fresh, could be better if they were freshly made. I want the chips to be good. The elote seems to be mixed with the queso, which is really runny. It tastes better, but could be thicker. The guacamole is average, not a lot of flavor to it. Main food orders in after about 15 minutes after we were seated. The flautas are super dry, the chicken that is. The chicken isn't even jerky like, just bark like burnt. The lobster quesadilla tastes rather interesting. On closer examination after the odd texture of the lobster, it had the strangest layers to it, reminds me of the Krab. Something quite odd about their lobster for sure, comes across to me as imitation meat. Hard to describe how weird it was to me, has completely left me at a loss and utterly confused. Meat doesn't have the chew I expected at all, mostly disintegrated in my mouth without biting it and the odd layers really threw me off exceedingly. My husband asked our waitress about the nature of the lobster meat to Nikki. She asked the kitchen if the lobster meat in the quesadilla and enchiladas was real lobster meat. The kitchen of course said yes, it is. I wouldn't have expected anyone to say the lobster meat was imitation though. Such a strange meal and experience tonight.

Important point - their salsa served with chips before and with the meals is overloaded with chili powder (dark color) and would make an amazing base for chili. We didn't finish either dish due to the salsa and were really hungry by the time we arrived after traveling. The restaurant was semi full so must be some like that. For us - no bueno! Won't be back. We were kind about our critique and waitress received it well. Restaurant was clean and well kept. I mean this with kindness - Recuerdos! Since it wasn't too far of a drive, we decided to give it a try. We arrived just after 5 p.m. on a Saturday night, and at the time, no one else was dining in. Within seconds of walking through the door, we were warmly greeted and seated at a table across from the bar. Chips and salsa arrived almost immediately, which was a great start to the experience. While looking over the menu, I noticed they offer a nice selection of beverages, although no alcohol was available. I'm not sure if they are still working on obtaining a liquor license, but that was just my assumption. As the evening went on, more dine-in guests started arriving, along with several delivery drivers picking up carry-out orders. The menu offers a great variety of choices. I ordered the sopes and requested one chicken, one beef, and one chorizo. The other entrée was the Enchiladas Supremas with a side of rice. The food arrived quickly, and the presentation alone was impressive -- everything looked and smelled incredible. The flavor completely exceeded my expectations. Every dish tasted fresh and authentic, unlike many of the standard Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. This place delivers bold, dynamic flavors that truly stand out. We were extremely happy with our experience and are already looking forward to coming back to try several other menu items that caught our attention. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with rich flavor instead of the usual generic Tex-Mex, this place is absolutely worth visiting. Truly a hidden gem!
