Tom yum with seafood
Jimmy S.

Decent Thai in the middle of nowhere or Mojave. We ordered the drunken noodle with beef, Tom yum with seafood and yellow curry with beef. They were all decent. The Tom yum had a lot of seafood especially fish so it was nice to get a lot for what you pay for. Overall each dish was flavorful. The staff was a bit slow mainly because there seemed to be only person working all the tables and doing cashier, so orders, drinks and food comes out a lot slower than if they have maybe one more person to help. The waitress was super nice and got what we needed despite having to attend to so many customers. Place is old and dated but that comes with the territory of what I assume Mojave is gonna offer lol.

Some amazing thai food in the middle of nowhere. Large and comfortable restaurant but short staffed :( The two ladies working that day were super sweet and working very hard to serve 4 tables at once. Mojave Combination had a unique variety of fried appetizers with a delicious sweet and sour sauce (9/10) Thai Pork sausage fried rice was phenomenal. The sweet barbecue pork reminded me of the sweet chinese sausage. It was super addicting paired with the rest of the rice and I like to think of them like the marshmallows that compliment lucky charms cereal (10/10) Pad Thai I think would have gone better with the pork instead of the chicken we got it with. Very strong basil flavor which tasted almost garden harvested and a good spice. They put a lot of onions which I liked but my friends didn't think so. I think this dish could have been better with a bit more color like using a dark soy sauce instead of regular to stain the rice noodles a bit darker. Usually pad thai has a darker color and I think it would have been more appetizing. They say the eyes always eat first! (7/10) Green Thai Curry: Good spice even at the mild spice and very flavorful. I wish it was a bit more viscous so it could be drizzled on rice better but it was very watery. Great portions of meat and veggies in there though (8/10) Mango Sticky Rice: Interesting because the rice came out hot and the mango was room temp. I'm usually used to having this as a cold dish but maybe it was just made fresh. HUGE chunks of mango which I liked and I wish there was more rice to get the proportions right. Delicious sweet milk sauce (8/10)

An absolute gem of a Thai place. We arrived during an afternoon rush- it was quite busy. There was one lady who was doing everything, she was super patient and kind to the customers. She was juggling taking orders, taking out food, clearing a table and talking with the chefs in the back. Their crispy shrimp appetizer was so delicious, it tasted homemade (not like anything pre packaged.) Their drunken noodle had a great kick to it and the pineapple fried rice was flavorful. I'd definitely come back!

71. Spicy Mint Basil Kra Pow and Brown Rice - Thai Spicy!!!!

Went here for a work lunch and a nice place for a casual work conversation before traveling back to LA. Our server was informative "this is a Thai place so food is hot". Co-workers got a couple curries and the papaya salad which confirmed they were delicious. My Kra Pow is a favorite when in Thailand and the heat and flavors were on par! They also have Singha!!! Will be back when I'm back :)

The restaurant front

If you ever find yourself in Mojave and love Thai food, this is a must go place. We stopped here to charge our EV and just happened to be parked next to it. And it was one of the happiest accidents we have ever had They have dishes I haven't seen at other restaurants and the dishes they do have are just as good or even better than what you have had. This place is such a delight to visit we made sure to stop here a second time on our trip back. The wok-hay is excellent in every dish. I recommend the Khao Soi which is a dish I haven't seen at other Thai restaurants- it's sublime.

Stopped to charge my KIA and thought i'll get some Thai iced tea for the road. The menu looked good so i also ordered some veggies and tofu with rice. Delicious!! The veggies are cooked but still have a fresh crunch and the tofu is also correctly cooked. Highly recommend if you're here in Mojave. The ladies are also so sweet!!

Came here charge on the way home and eat. Order few things. Rad na was good, mango sticky rice was too good. The rice was a bit hard. The spring rolls were good. The waiters was really nice. She's wearing glasses skinny white lady. We came two days ago, there were a black waitress were a bit rude to us when we want to order. And we decided to not order and leave. Today was prefect!! Environmental we're chill

12/15/2025: So excited to be passing through town "not on a Saturday" because that means we can stop at Mojave Thai for dinner! They're like a trip to LA's Thai Town in East Hollywood without all of the traffic or parking craziness. For dinner tonight, we decided to try their #52 Basil Krapow over Jasmine Rice with Fried Egg on top. I've learned from a few places that restaurants often hold back a little on the amount of basil used since it can be polarizing for the unfamiliar. I asked them to please be heavy handed with the basil because honestly, that flavor makes the dish so special! I also ordered with ground pork instead of the default ground chicken because that's how I've been told they do it back home in Thailand. I'm not arguing with centuries of tradition! It was delicious. I chopped up the egg, drizzled some of the Prik Nam Pla sauce (request, it's not on the tables) and used two spoons to mix it well. I really gave it a good toss so the rice and toppings can meld together! It is delicious! Make sure to order the dish at your desired spice tolerance and if you're sharing with a non-heat seeker, the Prik Nam Pla can also be added on your own plate for a little extra kick! It's fish sauce based, but don't let that throw you. It is SO tasty! We also ordered the #40 Drunken Noodle and opted for the Combination Seafood as our protein. Bouncy, wide egg noodles with a light yet flavorful sauce and plenty of seafood and veggies to round out the dish. It's not drowning like a drunk uncle.. and a little drizzle of the Prik Nam Pla elevates the flavor! But still delicious as-is. Hubby was sneaky and got an order of their red bean filled mochi sesame balls for the drive home. Oh my gosh - this is one of the few places that actually cooks them until they're golden and the sesame seeds are crisp! Made fresh to order, I could have devoured a sack of them. They will be on repeat! If you're driving through Mojave or any place nearby, make it a point to stop at Mojave Thai. Just remember, they're closed on Saturdays so plan your trip wisely! They have ample Tesla charging stations in the parking lot for those who need to plug in while they nosh. I'm ready to go back!

Superchargers are right in front so it was meant to be on the way to LV. Server was amazing! She was working the front alone and was really nice and fast! She is a true asset to this establishment! Everything we ordered was delicious! Very vegetarian and family friendly. Restrooms were very clean and parking was easy and felt safe. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are very generous. I can't wait to come back! Also, super cute, split level inside.

Whoah! A legit Thai restaurant in the most unexpected place. Just stopped to use the Tesla Supercharger and saw Mojave Thai in the lot. Yes the neighborhood may seem sketchy but the restaurant is clean, quiet and the owner/operator and server are extremely accommodating and warm. The food is where the magic is. Amazing and authentic tasting Tom Yum, the entrees in general are delicious and the desserts (fried banana and mango sticky rice) are an added plus. Don't sleep on this joint. If you're ever in the area it's a must try

We always look forward to stopping here to or from Mammoth. It is some of the best Thai food we've ever had. Everything we've tried has been wonderful. Service is fabulous. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside is dated but we would go out of our way to have a meal here. We give this our highest rating. It's right next to Tesla charging stations too. We don't have EV, but that might be a bonus to some people.

Chicken wings + panang curry + Thai sausage fried rice
Jeff C.

I liked it. A nice surprise. Didn't expect to find a good Thai spot in the middle of the desert. Came in on the way back from Mammoth. Inside was simple and spacious with plenty of seating. My friend and I were pretty hungry so we got the chicken wings, panang curry, and Thai sausage fried rice. It was all good. Really liked the fried rice and chicken wings. We asked for medium heat on the wings and curry but it was more mild for my taste. So might have to take it up a notch next time. Would definitely come back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking in the front lot and there's also some electric car chargers.

50% of pineapple fried rice. 20% of the original taste.

The food was good but the service was bad and slow. The server needed reminders of what we ordered.

I've lost track of how many Thai restaurants I've eaten at during my work travels, and it still…read moreamazes me that one of my favorites is tucked away in little Tehachapi. Whether it's the rich, creamy curries, the incredible soups, perfectly balanced Pad Thai, or just about anything else on the menu, I've yet to have a meal that disappointed. Every dish tastes like someone actually cares about what's coming out of the kitchen--which, unfortunately, isn't something you can say about every restaurant these days. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, the ingredients are fresh, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. It's the kind of place where you tell yourself you'll try something new... and then end up ordering your favorite because it's just that good. Thai Hachapi is proof that you don't have to drive to Los Angeles to find outstanding Thai food. Sometimes the best meals are hiding in plain sight. If you're in Tehachapi and craving Thai, don't overthink it. Just go. Your taste buds will be doing the wai while you're still asking for a to-go box.

This is the second time I've been here over a couple of year span. Impressions are hard to overcome…read moreand this second impression let me down. The restaurant was overwhelmed by a very large party and the service of other parties severely suffered. There was barely any checking in with other tables as the larger party was served by all the staff. I couldn't even get a refill on water the entire time of my very long stay due to patiently waiting for my order to come out. The Mongolian beef was underwhelming and I won't return to this place on my next visit to Tehachapi.
