I've given the new owners plenty of chances. This time, I decided to dine in instead of getting takeout to see if the quality had improved. Unfortunately, the soup was terrible, filled with gristly meat, and the broth tasted like water rather than chicken. They barely gave any sizzling rice. I didn't even eat the soup. My son said the buffet was decent and ate it, but to me, everything looked unappetizing. I'm done. This was the last chance for the new owners to make things better. Sadly, you can't get sizzling rice soup at any other restaurant in Tehachapi. For really good food, I have better luck in Palmdale or Santa Clarita. 6/9/24

Food was ok. I went to use the woman's restroom and the hydraulic arm that is supposed to slow down the extra heavy door did not work. I heard the door coming too fast and reach behind me to try and slow it down. Instead it caught my fingertips in the door. I am brining this awareness before some child opens the door and gets hurt.

Smallest serving I've ever had from any Chinese restaurant. Most of it was hard carrots and veggies. My soup only had 2 wontons.

Plant based options on buffet! Broccoli, green beans, eggplant, zucchini, bell peppers, cabbage, mushrooms, tofu....works for me! Some of these were taken from the meat-based dishes, broccoli taken from the beef & broccoli. The meat-eaters should be happy with the remaining meat-to-vegetable ratio. Red bean sesame balls for dessert. Decent meal overall.

Came here years ago and absolutely disliked it. Apparently its under new ownership and the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and there is a variety of Asian cuisine. Highly recommend and tastes better than the local Panda Express.

Got a verity of stuff to take home. Everything was still hot and full of flavor when we got home. Very nice people there!

Food overcooked, had a taste of dirty dishes. Service was pleasant and didn't cost too much for two buffets but we won't be back.

Love this place! It's definitely one of our favorites in town. The pepper chicken is our go to.

Whether it's the rich, creamy curries, the incredible soups, perfectly balanced Pad Thai, or just about anything else on the menu, I've yet to have a meal that disappointed. Every dish tastes like someone actually cares about what's coming out of the kitchen--which, unfortunately, isn't something you can say about every restaurant these days. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, the ingredients are fresh, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. It's the kind of place where you tell yourself you'll try something new... and then end up ordering your favorite because it's just that good. Thai Hachapi is proof that you don't have to drive to Los Angeles to find outstanding Thai food. Sometimes the best meals are hiding in plain sight. If you're in Tehachapi and craving Thai, don't overthink it. Just go. Your taste buds will be doing the wai while you're still asking for a to-go box.

The restaurant was overwhelmed by a very large party and the service of other parties severely suffered. There was barely any checking in with other tables as the larger party was served by all the staff. I couldn't even get a refill on water the entire time of my very long stay due to patiently waiting for my order to come out. The Mongolian beef was underwhelming and I won't return to this place on my next visit to Tehachapi.

Was looking for a Vietnamese restaurant since I was craving pho and came across this place. It's…read morelocated in a small shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. Walking in, they had plenty of booths and tables that can accommodate both small and large groups. You order before you sit down, and they also have a self-serve water station. We tried the Egg Rolls (3 pieces) and Dumplings (5 pieces) for appetizers, and for our main meals we ordered the Beef Stew Soup and the Glass Noodle Chicken Soup. The egg rolls and dumplings were crispy and flavorful, and the sweet and sour dipping sauce paired well with both. I actually thought I had ordered the beef pho, so I was surprised when the beef stew came out but that was completely my mistake. It ended up being a pleasant surprise because it was hearty, full of flavor, and reminded me a lot of sopa de res. The Glass Noodle Chicken Soup was much lighter, with a clean, comforting broth that made for a great contrast to the rich beef stew. Both soups were generously portioned. The customer service was friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to coming back to try more items from their menu.

The restaurant was clearly overcrowded, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner became rude and disrespectful. The owner repeatedly complained that they were overwhelmed and couldn't handle additional guests. Rather than providing good customer service or communicating respectfully, he turned customers away and made us feel unwelcome. Eventually, we were asked to leave despite there being available seating when we arrived. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but there is no excuse for poor customer service or rude behavior toward paying customers. If a business cannot manage being at full capacity, it should have a better system in place rather than taking frustration out on guests. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.
