Cute coffee shop with lots of bakery items and tasty looking quiche. I only had a flat white and a latte but wanted to try more during our trip. Delightful new addition to the Loop. Went here for lunch today with a co-worker and really enjoyed the food. We shared the avocado and feta toast, with 2 poached eggs added, along with the bang bang chicken salad. Both were delicious, the flavors well balanced and filled us up. In general the menu is nicely varied (suitable for meat eaters and vegans alike) and has a healthy slant to it, which is perfect for breakfast / lunch when at work. I saw a few coffees being made and the barista appears to know the trade well. Each coffee came out looking like a work of art and smelled great. The atmosphere itself is nice and airy. It was easy for my colleague and I to speak. My only minor complaint would be that the bench seats are uncomfortable. I'll definitely be back to sample other food on the menu and try out a coffee. read more

I'll admit to being a bit biased here. Mojo is a Wellington, New Zealand-based chain, and it always ranked as a favorite destination when I lived in that city - and Wellington has no shortage of excellent coffee. When searching 'coffee' on a recent trip to Chicago, I was amazed and elated to learn that Mojo have expanded to the US! The feel and quality of this location are very much on par with what I came to expect from the brand in NZ. I make sure to visit on every trip I take to Chicago, and I'd very much love to see Mojo spread across the land! read more

To me this seemed like just another coffee shop along the way to work... Then I saw they had some shakes, including a Peanut Butter Blueberry one! To my dismay though, they did not have any protein power to mix in so I spent over $5 on a super thin shake that also brought on a sugar rush and no means of energy what-so-ever (It didn't taste like there was much peanut butter in there, would've added some protein & more sugar). The shake had sooome flavor, but essentially I continued walking to work sipping on a colorful glass of milk... I hope their coffee is better than that. read more

When I heard that Mojo was a new coffee-spot in the area, I immediately made a note to visit. The background story and the differentiated vibe or aesthetic were definite draws. I trekked over from my office and entered a fairly non-descript entrance but upon walking up to the Mojo sign, the aesthetic was apparent - the modern vibe, clean and minimalist look, and plenty of natural lighting made for a great sit down feel. I ordered the iced mocha with whole milk - the preparation was quick and the size was decent. However, the actual taste left me wanting. I am not sure if it was the espresso or the syrup that they use but unfortunately, the build-up to Mojo left me underwhelmed. I would still venture to Mojo for a variety of other drinks and their food options, which do seem on the higher end of the price curve. read more

I've been back a few times now and really like this shop. The espresso is really good - creamy and earthy without being too bitter - and they have baristas coming around filling up seltzer water to pair with the espresso and keeping the place tidy. They also opened up earlier than many specialty coffee shops during Covid and I really appreciate being able to get a reliably amazing drink from a shop that I can trust to be open. Went here this morning excited that they had a decaf chai tea latte. Well, I ended up receiving an iced milk with cinnamon and chai tea SYRUP....for $4 (the small one). I would expect for the price that it would be real tea? It wasn't even a "latte" just cold milk with cinnamon sprinkled on top. I think maybe they should change the menu item to Chai Syrup Milk? Omg, I wish I had a better photo of the avocado toast but do you see how high it is? That looks like a fluffy cloud of avocado. Salmon toast- melt in your mouth salmon, with some good capers. The onion adds a zing to your tongue but not to your kiss. The creme adds a good barrier between the bread and the salmon. Lastly the lemon, creates a brightness that is needed to hold this masterpiece together. Hope you enjoyed the salmon toast as much as I did, and did I mention the mountain of avocado??? read more

Stopped by Mojo today since I was in the area and it was on my list of coffee to try in the city! I was looking for a quick late lunch so I ordered a flat white to refuel and a smashed avocado toast. I was a little surprised that their kitchen closed so early. I thought I wouldn't be getting food, but then the guy at the counter was very friendly and asked if it could be made - they accommodated my order, which I appreciated! I wish there was a clearer sign (perhaps, I missed it) that said they weren't serving food anymore. My wait for the drink wasn't long. A barista brought it to my table, and it was a pretty solid flat white. A little on the pricey end, but I think it's worthwhile to try for a solid cup of specialty coffee, especially since it's a place I'm not stopping by everyday! If I worked in the building, this may not be my first choice daily, but if I was in the area again, I'd stop by. The avocado toast was good - it was healthy. The avocado was fresh and there was tons of it. It didn't blow my mind, but it satisfied my afternoon hunger! Overall, probably wouldn't get food here but would try coffee again. read more

Exciting menu, good choices of cold drinks, great coffee. Unfortunately, Mojo suffers from this new-fangled notion of being unclear if it is a counter-service/takeout place, or a sit-down restaurant. This trend has to end soon. it's OK to be both sit-down and takeout, but these are different services, and they beed to be separated: table-service happens at the table and takeout service happens at a counter. This isn't rocket-science, and it has worked effectively for decades. Multiple people at the counter had trouble figuring how where/how to order and whether or not they were supposed to stand there and wait for their food. I hate this. Hate hate hate this. We were dining in, yet we were there in a throng of people trying to place an order at a counter with the same folks taking-away. Then when you pay you are handed one of those numbers on a stick to place on your table so the server can find you. So many problems: who get tipped? Nobody? The cashier? Nobody? This can't be good for the servers. And when something is awry with an order, do you try to remember who brought your food and hunt them down, or do you get back in line to talk to the cashier? I hate hate hate this and the service means I will never eat here again. That said: if you are OK with the stupid system they have failed to implement, the food is definitely very good! read more

Awesome coffee and great pastries! I came here and just got a pour over and a lemon tart. Both were delicious, the baristas are very friendly and as I sat there it seemed as though the baristas knew everyone and there were a ton of regulars which is always a good sign. I loved the lemon tart the meringue was nice a fluffy and the lemon nice and tart. My only complaint with this place is it's not a great place to work. It's in a large office building so most people are coming downstairs from their work with wifi connection, but otherwise the coffee shop doesn't have their own individual connection. It's more of a sit down have a nice talk type of place rather than a cafe to work at. read more

This is where you go on a horrible Monday afternoon to get your "Mojo" back! But seriously, Mojo Coffee is a welcomed escape when you need a break from work but Starbucks just won't cut it. They have a great menu, including lots of caffeine options me but also pastries and a breakfast menu. It's all very aesthetic as well (A Hipster's paradise). I've been coming at least a couple of times a week ever since they opened, it's a convenient choice since I work right across the street. I'd still go there if it was further, but probably not as often. Since y'all are busy, here is a quick summary: 1. Great Food 2. Great Atmosphere 3. Friendly staff 4. Really good coffee 5. Black tea is boring 6. Pricey So overall I love this place and generally look forward to eating there - thankfully I can afford it. Which brings me to my next point. The only thing that kinda bugs me about this place is the high price for food and being nickel and dimed. Now to be fair, the quality of their food is exceptional, so you definitely get what you pay for. Eggs, tomatoes, everything is top notch quality. So I wish they were a little more generous when it comes to sides. When I pay $1 for tomato, then I'm expecting more than just 2 slices. When I pay $12 for a small lunch dish that comes with 2 small slices of bread, then I don't really want to pay even more to get an extra slice of bread. So the place is almost perfect, and I will continue to come back. read more

Ooh la la. The "fancy-ness" of this coffee shop makes Starbucks and Peet's look like mere child's play. This place is very high end (and has the prices to match). That being said, I think their drinks and food items are DELICIOUS and of the best quality, so essentially you get what you pay for. This place is from New Zealand and I believe this is their first US location. How lucky we are! My favorite menu item is their chai. Hot or iced, it's the best chai around! Their chocolate tart is also very good! They have some breakfast sandwich options that also look delicious, but I haven't tried those yet. The staff is very friendly and always accurate. They have never gotten any of my orders wrong. The attention to detail is definitely there. This isn't the kind of place I would go to every day, or else it would get pricey and take the fun out of going here. But every once in a while when I want to treat myself, I go here. So go ahead, treat yourself! read more

Coffee Oasis in the loop! Hidden in the 200 South Wacker building is a fun, fresh coffee shop. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted. Mojo has a pretty good menu for its boutique coffee. I tried the nitro brew which was velvety and nutty with hints of chocolate and the chili cheddar biscuit which was freshly warmed, cut, and served with butter and a wood knife. I would give the nitro brew a 4/5 and the biscuit a 5/5. Definite must stop before work. I will be back soon! read more

I found my coffee shop for when I'm in the Chicago office! These guys are from New Zealand and serve a proper flat white. You might be surprised when you get it as it's in a teeny little cup (maybe 6 oz) but it tastes great. They have good nitro cold brew as well, although the second time I tried it it wasn't as cold as the first time I had it (it's not served with ice as not to dilute the flavor and kill the micro bubbles). I would also recommend not drinking it through a straw, as it picks up the plastic flavor. Chuck the straw and lid and drink it from the cup - and enjoy the looks back in the office when everyone thinks you're drinking a Guinness midday. Prices are probably steeper than what you're used to (especially for the serving size) but sure beats any chain shop. read more

They offered to make it quickly, but the thought of sitting in the shop drinking a coffee after they had wasted so much of my time was not the vibe I was looking for this morning.
