Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Knafeh Cake
Tray

The vibe here is great for studying or hanging out. The place was packed with people chatting or getting work done. Service was really nice and welcoming. The drinks were great and light roast, which is exactly my style. The French toast latte was my favorite with the cold foam and strong cinnamony flavor. The banana bread latte was also really good and I feel like it would be even better hot. Both drinks weren't overly sweet but still leaned a little on the sweeter side. The milk cake was good too! I wish it was a bit milkier, but I loved the chocolate cake with nuts inside.

Oud Latte

Been hearing about Oud and had to try while I was in Chicago! First off, Oud lattes are popular here and are an espresso milk based drink with cardamom and fresh mint leaves. Would give this a 4/5, felt like the depth of the flavor fell short against the milk in the drink. I would try one of their flavored seasonal lattes if I wanted something different here, but if it's your first time go for the Oud latte. Henry, our barista, was awesome. We were hoping to try the dark chocolate raspberry covered date, but they had supposedly run out. But after a couple minutes of thinking, Henry went to the back and brought back a box where he found exactly one left which we got to try! Amazing service!! The date itself was underwhelming, but worth trying if you're around. The dessert that's a must try here is the creme brulee croissant, 5/5- served warm, crisp! Cannot recommend this baked good here enough.

I ordered Zaatar Manakeesh, I was expecting a manakeesh that is served all over the world as a full size I received a mini manakeesh charged $4:45 You need to specify it's a mini Manakeesh, your prices are way too expensive, I come from the most expensive part of Newport Beach California and your prices are about 40% higher

Solid little coffee shop with a ton of space to get work done. It was a bit crowded when I stopped in, but there are plenty of tables throughout the space, which makes it a great spot for working or studying if you can snag one. I went with the cold brew. It's a little on the pricier side, but it definitely hit the spot. The staff was super friendly too, which is always a plus. Overall, a solid place to grab coffee and settle in to hang out or get work done.

Banana Cold Foam Matcha

Love Oud! They have such good drinks and the staff here is really nice! One of my favorite Palestinian owned cafes in the city! Next time I need to come back and try their food. I also thought their matcha was really good! I got the banana cold foam matcha and I would get it again!

This Coffee & Cafe had a cool vibe to it! We stopped in to try the crepes. When we arrived it was pretty busy and the line was long but it seemed to go quickly. my friend ordered the Nutella crepe(no pic) and I ordered the pistachio crepe-although it was good it was so sweet that I couldn't eat much, I'm not a big sweets person but I love pistachio! I tried one of the Matcha drinks which was delicious! We were in Chicago for a girls trip and I would definitely recommend trying this place out.

Slid by here around 3pm on a Wednesday. It was lowkey kinda full of people working late or needing an extra boost to get through the rest of the day. We ordered the: Oud coffee iced. Maple cardamom latte. The maple won. Both weren't sweet but the cardamom had a deeper flavor profile and as much as I love caffeine, I want a rich experience in which I can taste what it's being mixed with. Both were iced and 20oz which ran about 7 dollars for each one. Also ended up with a white pistachio cake which cost about ten bucks. It wasn't my favorite but the table liked it. This was one of the better coffee spots I've tasted in the city. So relative to the others, I gave it a four star. Although the cashier serving us did not seem to be happy to be there. Plenty of seating inside. Maybe enough for 30 and another 10-15 outside in their small patio on the sidewalk.

Baklava, Dubai chocolate, Dubai chocolate chip cookie, raspberry chocolate date, knafeh

The pastries at OUD are absolutely delicious. I ordered the baklava, Knafeh, Dubai chocolate, Dubai chocolate chip cookie and the raspberry chocolate dipped date. All were super delicious! The Dubai chocolate wasn't too sweet either. The only downside was that it was pricey. This all costed $62. I would say for the most part, the baklava wasn't too sweet. There were certain pieces in the box set that were extremely sweet but overall it was delicious. I would skip on the chocolate dipped dates. I think they're too sweet cause dates are already naturally sweet. Service was good and I received my order quickly. The cafe has a lot of seating and is a great place to do work or catch up with friends! Would highly recommend.

Got the Oud Latte because I had read about it online. Fun flavors and very different from my typical latte order. I did ask for it to be less sweet and thought it was pretty sweet so I can't really imagine what the typical sweetness would be like. Interior was simple with plenty of seating. I saw quite a few people working when I was there at 7:30.

Cute coffee shop that went viral on tiktok- which is what brought me here! I ordered a matcha latte and will say it's on there herbal side (or more flowery that is- not sure if they added mint or something else to bring out that flavor). I will say that it wasn't my favorite matcha, but I am open to trying their other drinks in the future!!

As one of the few Palestinian and open-late cafes in the city, Oud is a true gem. The cafe was bustling on a Sunday afternoon, but despite the crowds, service was quick. I ordered a refreshing tamr hindi (tamarind drink) and a crispy pistachio pastry. Both were so unforgettably delicious that I was left raving to friends throughout the week. Oud gets busy on weekends, so if you want to do some work, I recommend bringing noise-cancelling headphones and coming in with the possibility of waiting for seats to open up. That said, Oud remains one of my favorite cafes in the city for great vibes and treats!

Honey Lavender Latte
Anna N.

Was drawn to this place because of its mediterranean ties but will return for its flavorful coffees, quick and friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere that you feel as soon as you walk in the door. I got the honey lavender latte and my partner got the mango strawberry refresher. Both delicious. We paid 15 bucks + tip for the two drinks which isn't horrible for Chicago prices. There are plenty of spots to sit and outlets dispersed throughout which makes for a nice study spot. I will definitely be back! side note: I encourage my readers to find Palestinian-owned businesses to support!

Gave Oud a visit after my sister strongly recommended it to me and I AM A FAN! I love a good cafe, but I feel like it's so hard to find one that also has a good working space and Oud managed to master both! The ambience was super cozy, with floral touches throughout, but also spacious enough to bring a laptop or book. Food and service were equally incredible. The staff members were very sweet and helpful (thank you Noura- I hope I spelled that correctly), and the food was so so so delish. Here's what I ordered (literally loved everything which is pretty rare): - Maple Cardamom Latte w Almond Milk: Loved that these were the two immediate flavors I tasted when I took my first sip. Not too sweet if its the only thing you're consuming (Oud by default uses less sugar in their drinks which I love), however it may be too sweet if paired with other yummy treats. - Tuscan Chicken Ciabatta (jaw was basically on floor. SO flavorful and creamy, with a delish pesto flavor) - Rose Milk Cake (as a baker, I strongly believe soaked cakes are an elite form of dessert, and this was such a unique take on it. Fragrant, soaked (personally would maybe prefer a lil more soaking), and perfectly rose milk flavored. - Dubai Pistachio Milk Cake- TEXTURAL HEAVEN! Think Dubai bar (crunchy pistachio butter + chocolate) on top and soaked chocolate cake on the bottom. I was afraid this would be too sweet, but the soaked cake was so mild and not overpowering. - Focaccia Breakfast Sandwich (vegetarian): SO SO GOOD- eggs, avo, chipotle mayo, greens). Only notes are that 1) I don't know if I would characterize the bread as focaccia, but it was still very yummy, and 2) I would prefer the eggs to be less cooked! - Pumpkin Muffin: SOLID muffin, nothing super special, but very tender and moist. Loved the tangy cream cheese frosting as well :) - Dubai Chocolate Chip Cookies: I mean this speaks for itself. A pistachio kaitafeh stuffed choco chip cookie!!! On the sweeter side for me personally, but this was also the last thing I ate so may be influenced by all the desserts before.

How is the quality of their coffee?

It's pretty good stuff, coming from a former barista. A lot of the drinks are very coffee-forward, less sweet/overpowered by other flavors.

We started with a mocha, a solid, well-balanced drink that wasn't overly sweet and was just perfect. We didn't plan on eating here, but the menu was way too tempting. We ordered the cinnamon roll, and wow. This was insanely good. Most cinnamon rolls in the U.S. feel like sugar-heavy, cinnamon-flavored buns, but this one was light, flavorful, and beautifully made. The irimshik on top really elevated it, subtle, warm, and just sweet enough. Easy 10/10. Next was the cottage cheese pancake, which was also very good. It had a generous amount of cottage cheese stuffed inside, and paired with the sweet irimshik dip, the dish came together really well. 9/10. We then tried the qattama. It was good. flaky, crispy, and reminded me of a paratha. It came with a sour irimshik dip. While each component was good, I felt the qattama would shine more with a gravy-based dish. 7/10. Finally, we ordered the Nan Salma pasta. It's a tarry-based white sauce pasta with a unique flavor profile, and it was genuinely yum. Definitely something different and worth trying. Highly recommend it. 8/10. You have space to sit down and work as well. Service was good too. Some of the dishes might take 7-10mins to get prepared. It's not like your daily coffee shop who have stuff ready to go Overall, a great spot with unique food and a welcoming vibe. Definitely coming back. 9/10

The staff was genuinely nice too. Asked how my day was and even recommended couple of pastries. I ordered a hot chocolate with an almond blueberry financier. The hot chocolate was honestly perfect. Rich but not heavy. You get that dark chocolate hit first, then it smooths out. Creamy. Warm in the right way. The financier was great. Nutty from the almonds, little bursts of blueberry, soft but not mushy. I dipped it into the hot chocolate (had to), and yeah... even better. No regrets there. It's a small place, but if you get there early, you might grab a seat with a really nice city view. Worth it. I'll definitely be back. Especially now that I know there's a solid hot chocolate spot right nearby.
