It was very good. I also really liked their take on matcha with a ribbon of strawberry jam. My wife got the raspberry sorbet and chocolate sorbet. The raspberry was one of the best I've tasted in a long time. With so many interesting flavors we will be back for sure. I have to also mention what a fun shop it is with its bright colorful tiles and bright yellow ice cream scoop display hanging from the ceiling.

Ice cream flavors are a mixture of classics, and things like cardamom and matcha, providing interest and not just oddball spices for the sake of quirkiness. As far as I can tell, Always Summer isn't part of a chain, but the look and feel of the space is very polished and coordinated. Between their merch display, and the forest of ice cream scoops hanging from the ceiling, the design aesthetic stands out. The people behind the counter were friendly and efficient, just what you would hope for in this type of establishment.

They have a large variety of flavors, but I opted for the cookie monster. It tastes like cookies, brownies, and milk. They have regular cones and gluten free cones as well. I got a kids scoop, and it was plenty for me. There is plenty of seating inside for small and large parties, with water available as well. I would come more often if it wasn't so far away from Seattle, but it is worth the trip.

Our group of five stopped in, after visiting the nearby lavender farm on a Saturday afternoon, with all of us loving it. It was a beautiful afternoon in the Pacific Northwest, and our son-in-law drove us to this shop when my wife's mom suggested we all go for ice cream (her treat). Nobody disagreed (duh). It is located in downtown Woodinville, with non-metered street parking being the norm. Serviced was great and it wasn't too busy, which was a good thing since the unusual flavors required a bit of sampling. My daughter and her husband got a 2 scooper ($8.95). The rest of us shared a flight ($13.95) which is a choice of SIX flavors in a banana split type dish. Quite a few of the offerings are Vegan (relying on pea proteins), and are very serious about eliminating cross contamination (dedicated scoops for these ice creams that are stored in a different freezer). There was outside seating, so their dog was able to sit with us as well. Out of the six flavors chosen (Vegan Soursop Sorbet, Pickle, Vanilla, Espresso Bean, Strawberry Balsamic, Death by Chocolate), I really liked the Espresso and Strawberry. The Pickle was definitely worth trying, and one could clearly taste the diced/minced pickle pieces throughout, and could actually taste the pickle juice squirting out a little bit as you bit into it. It's unusual and a seasonal flavor. After visiting, I learnt that the owner had graduated from the dairy program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which made me happy. Both my wife and I went to school there, and we raised our daughter in the Madison area, with many happy memories of eating both Babcock ice cream from the University Union and the Chocolate Shoppe (which is HQed there). I found it interesting that this store is located so close to the University of Washington, which I've always thought of as the second 'UW', to the primary UW in Wisconsin. But in reality, outside of the old Big Ten country (i.e. the Midwest), it looks like UW is thought of as Washington, with the domain uw.edu belonging to it, as well. Oh well...

Great customizations and allergen friendly!…read more My son has an allergy to wheat and peanuts and although there were peanut and wheat based products on site he had no reactions! I feel comfortable having him customize flavor through the kiosk and we found they make ice cream cakes free of his allergens! I am beyond impressed by the offerings of this shop. If you are avoiding or have an allergen, everything is clearly labeled. You can also request toppings from the back! We will absolutely be back.

I did just introduce this spot to my partner though and he loved it, so I'll probably be coming around more often. I would say my biggest gripe is that their flavors are super hit or miss. I particularly LOVE their snickers, taro, and pineapple (dole whip is a classic). But sometimes certain flavors can taste very very off, so I've just learned to stick to what I know is good. I recently saw that they have a kiosk where you can order among 200+ flavors incase they don't have one you're looking for in the manual dispensers. I'm not exactly sure how it works but I do want to try it soon. Service: (5/5) Like any other casual froyo place, the service usually consists of being rung up by a high schooler. They're always super nice though and they keep the place clean.
