Trevor is detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and thorough, with a keen eye for identifying issues that others might miss. His vendor references are excellent, and his inspection reports are delivered immediately after the inspection, which helps keep every transaction on schedule. Trevor is also honest, kind, and a man of high integrity -- qualities that bring tremendous peace of mind and confidence to my clients. His expertise consistently adds value by helping buyers make informed decisions and protecting their investment. He's uncovered major issues that were not previously disclosed, saving clients significant time and money. Truly one of the best in the business and a trusted partner I'm always grateful to work with!

I understand that the inspection agreement focuses on safety and structural concerns, and that cosmetic items may fall outside the primary scope. My personal experience left me wishing the report had been more thorough in capturing both major and minor details. see attached picture.

When it comes to the nitty-gritty details that could make or break your decision to proceed with a property you'll soon be calling 'Home', the company I HIGHLY recommend is Home Inspections Oahu! 100%!! Jay was not only friendly and down to earth, but he is highly skilled in his expertise as a home inspector, and was descriptive in his explanations to help guide the presentation. With his thorough documentation and photo gallery containing color codings for warnings and repairs needed, my wife and I truly felt secure moving forward with our next adventure. Even if we had already planned to do some upgrading and repairs after the purchase, it was helpful knowing all the other things that might need some TLC, and especially the ones that were more urgent to address immediately. To add to the positives, Home Inspections Oahu was available at short notice and accommodating to our preferred time of service. The quality and value you get are very hard to match. As "OCD" as I am, Jay's diligence and recommendations were very much appreciated! Looking at his inspection versus the one from the seller's vendor... HA! This company beats them by a mile. If you are looking for a good contractor don't use JR Moorehead. He is a very good talker and…read moreknows all the right things to say like I will give you everything you want and give you excellent work. But reality is very different. He said that he would complete the work in three months. It took almost a year and then a year after he supposedly completed the work we found out that he had lied and never had the house inspected and the building permits were not closed. We had to pay to have the permits pulled to verify that they were open an talk to the building inspector to get the permits closed. During the construction we never saw JR except when he wanted money from us or when we had to get him to correct all the mistakes they made. He always said that I was trying to "nickel and dime" him was a direct quote. But, the carpet had to be replaced because it was defective. Yes, they had to install it three times. But, that was because I had to go to the distributor with a sample of the carpet myself to show them what was happening with the carpet. We kept telling them something was wrong with the carpet besides poor installation. Yes, he had to redo the windows several times. But, that was because they were installed improperly. And JR could tell the distributor the correct way to install the windows. But, he wasn't the one who installed the windows and he never inspected his workers work. And when we took pictures of the quality of work and showed them to the distributor he finally understood why we were unhappy. One window had to be completely replaced because they drilled thru the complete frame so rain was going into the walls and into our house. They used five different sizes is screws on each window. So although we had 9 same sized window in the living room - some windows were secured with 6 screws some had 12 screws and some had more. Some had washers and some were twice as big as the next one. I pointed out to JR that they installed broken porcelain tile because they thought it was OK since the refrigerator would eventually cover it. And later when we found tiles with minor cracks JR said it was too late to replace them. They were still re-modeling the house. We did not know until we talked to the building inspector this year that if we had contacted him he would have made JR correct that problem. JR had to correct the water heater hook-up. We had 2 gallon water heater installed under the sink because it took 5-10 minutes for the hot water to get to the kitchen. This was at JR's suggestion when we explained the problem. When we finally got to use it we found out that we only had 2 gallons of hot water. When we told JR that it should be connected to the hot water pipe so that it was just supplying hot water until the hot water from the large solar water heater got to the kitchen, he lied to us saying that was how it was supposed to installed and could not be installed any other way. Well, we went to the building show at Blaisdell and talked to a professional plumber who told us that we were correct in how it should be installed. He offered to talk to JR and tell him how it should be done. But, JR happened to be right there on the next aisle passing out his cards and we talked to the manager of HDC who was running the booth that JR was in. So we got that problem fixed. I can go on and on. But, the reason I hired a contractor was because we were working and did not have the time to oversee the work and run around correcting things. That is what We thought we were paying JR to do. So if you want to have quality work done the first time do not hire JR or his company. This is in response to JR Moorehead's response. The only change that we made to the plans were to open up the ceiling in the kitchen. As to the carport the person who drew up the plans gave us two options. We chose the option that extended out as far as was legal. That is what we ended up with. But, unfortunately we did not catch the mistake when the plans were drawn up. When we asked why it was built that way even JR said that he remembered us discussing that we wanted it built extending out as far as allowed. I notice he did not address the discussion where he demanded final payment from us and kept yelling at my husband that we were trying to nickel and dime him by refusing to pay until all the permits were closed. He likely lying and telling my husband that all permits were closed. We could not sell our house because the permits were still open. I had to call JR to get him to call the inspector to close the permits. And again JR lies and makes statements that are not true. We sold the house at a loss. There was no profit made. So I stand by my warning to beware of using JR as a contractor. I was just checking on this contractor. I was sorry to see that he did almost the same thing to a supposed friend. I hope people read these reviews and stay away from JR Moorehead.

Getting a quote was easy and Marcos made scheduling the initial consultation and assessment super easy. He came to my apartment on-time and went through everything in detail. He carefully inspected all of the damage and walked me through what his thoughts were and assured me that he will document everything thoroughly so that the insurance companies will have more than enough information to accurately assess my costs. Based on the initial consultation, I thought this would easily clear $15,000, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that we came in under $12,000, especially for the amount of work that I was looking at. The quotes were also very detailed, breaking down each cost for the spaces I needed repaired. I was provided PDFs of these quotes for my own records and when it came time to pay, I was able to pay in parts when each part of the job began. Marcos and his team were also very patient with my work and travel schedules, always coordinating with me to make sure things were done not only in a timely manner, but in proper sequence and done thoroughly. Throughout the whole process, Marcos was kind, knowledgable, communicative, professional, and understanding. I was originally afraid that there was extensive damage to my unit because of how everything appeared on the outside, especially because of water in my circuit breaker. But Kory, the guy who was in charge of making sure all the moisture and mold was taken care of, not only gave me a very clear and easy to understand explanation of all the damage, but he actually was able to show me that the damage to my wall was significantly less worse than what we thought. I expected to lose my cabinets but thanks to Kory, I was able to keep them! He also made sure that a thorough job was done to dry out my apartment so the insurance company would see that we did things exactly by the book and that the water mitigation was thorough. He was incredibly nice, professional, and trustworthy. After Kory, Francisco their drywall specialist came in and did a quick and thorough job of repairing and replacing the drywall that did receive damage. Scheduling time with them was easy thanks to Marcos and Francisco arrived in a timely manner, once again making it easy for me on my tough work schedule. I received drywall work that was even better than what I originally had which was great. Francisco was efficient, professional, and did a excellent job. Finally, Leo, the flooring guy came in with another employee and did an incredible job with my flooring. Marcos provided resources to help me choose new flooring, which was done at H&C Flooring in Kalihi. Sophia was very helpful in recommending good colors and material. Once that was done, Leo did an excellent job communicating all of his work and showing me what was done and what still needed to be done. A big thank you to him as well for putting up with the amount of stuff that I had in the apartment still and moving it all around to do the flooring. He even came in on a Sunday to make good progress on finishing the flooring! Leo was incredibly thorough, professional, kind, and I really appreciated his work. Overall, my experience with Hawaii Water Damage Restorartion was excellent. Marcos, Kory, Francisco, Leo and the rest of the team were great to work with and incredibly professional. I truly appreciated their attention to detail, patience with my situation, and really making sure that I had what I needed for insurance purposes. My apartment feels whole again and they made this whole process incredibly easy for me. I would recommend them for your remediation and restoration needs! Mahalos to you all for your great work!

Aside from the many…read moreheadaches from dealing with various escrow deadlines & loan approvals, new homeowners can also get hit with another obstacle - finding out that your dream home is a complete money pit, a financial nightmare. No one wants to buy a seemingly perfect-looking house, only to discover that there's a lot of serious structural or hazardous issues, ain't nobody got time for that! I knew right off that bat before I signed any contracts, that I needed my potential new home inspected. Like most, I struggled with the idea of hiring a home inspector because I knew it was going to run me at least $500 or $600+, a typical inner struggle when you're trying to cut any additional costs. I've planned on being on a stict ramen diet budget after buying this house, so I was really dreading the idea of spending additional money on an inspection. But realistically, I knew it had to be done. I didn't want to get stuck with a house with many flaws and up end having to pay thousands of dollars to repair things. Frank Dugger was introduced to us by our hard-working real estate agent, Mai Gregory. He has a reputation for being very thorough and very honest. He was friendly, professional and not intimidating at all. If all the real estate agents trust him, then I trust him. For 4 hours, Frank did the entire home inspection all by himself. He inspected everything from the inner wirings of the house to the very details of a suspicious single roof tile. His only assistant was this kick-ass drone that he used to inspect my roof and solar panels. Efficient and high-tech, love that! http://bit.ly/1lcvz99 Going over the inspection report was a breeze, we went over everything page by page on his laptop, all 72 pages. - The very first page showed items highlighted in red, indicating potential hazardous items that he recommends to repair (or to ask the seller to repair prior to us signing the contracts). http://bit.ly/1Rqi1CQ - Then he went over everything that's usually included in a home inspection like the plumbing, gas, electrical, foundation etc. http://bit.ly/1LRfnip http://bit.ly/1N69Oi6 I appreciated how every item listed came with pics to support his findings. This man did not miss a single thing. He even found a huge crack in the shower tile that we missed during our house tour. This would've caused huge leakage or mold problems in the future. http://bit.ly/1NsXdsF I paid on site $785, very reasonable and cheap for the thorough job that was done per my agent. I knew going in that this house was going to be a couple hundred over the usual fee because there were both a hot tub and pool to inspect in addition to the two-story. http://bit.ly/1OACYKs Overall, I'm really satisfied and relieved that there was nothing serious with the house. We forwarded the must-fix/potential hazardous list to the home seller and guess what - he agreed to fix EVERYTHING! Amazing job! Thanks, Frank! You're the best!! http://bit.ly/1LRfmef
