If I could give Kohl from Paradise Home Inspections more than 5 stars I would!! Our agent Vince S. scheduled a home inspection with our first time home purchase with this company and from the beginning we loved how prompt their customer service is! From the beginning you receieve reminder and confirmation emails and automated text messages regarding your home inspection before and after it takes place. Payment is required after the home inspection takes place for you to open your online easily accessible report. Upon meeting Kohl, he was very nice and had a warm sense of feeling. It was nice especially as we are nervous and busy with this first time home purchase process. Kohl was very detailed about the inspections and his findings, patient with all of our questions, and had recommendations to what we could have looked into. With the home inspection itself everything from ground foundation, exterior of the home, sidewalks on property, patio and yard within property, roofing, all electrical outlets and sources, all water ports/sinks/showers with its hot water capabilities, plumbing and water pressure, seeing if all major appliances that come with the home works properly, detailed inspection of flooring, all walls and possible cosmetics that could be improved nd/or fixed. He also had to tools ready to find any proof of moisture anywhere in the home nearest to water, record temperatures of all kitchen appliances and water, and see which electrical outlets connect to one another when it needs to be reset if applicable. I'm sure there's a lot more they include with their inspection but from what I remember for the most part, they cover it all! When you receieve the report, it's very organized and properly labeled and laid out per area/room. It's also easily marked with markings/circles to clearly see the issues they are talking about for clarity. Along with any issues alone, they each have a recommendation on what you should do going forward with available resources provided. If we would ever need another home inspection for whatever reason in the future, I'd 110% go with Kohl and his team again! read more

My awesome realtor recommended this firm and while I cannot praise my realtor enough for the exceptional, world-class services he provided, this inspection company was hit and miss for me. Hits/Pros: 5 stars.... super professional. Loved the fact that this is a local firm run by locals! Our inspector was a terrific guy who understands Hawaii & construction. Provided literally hundreds of quality digital photos and other data! Never seen this degree of thoroughness in the industry before! Top marks for safety and OSHA compliance. Even brought his own fall protection if memory serves.... Misses/Cons: 3 stars.. incongruences with hierarchy or priority of discrepancies. Called out that the screws securing the main circuit breaker box to the wall were the wrong type & posed an electrocution hazard (true) but failed to mention that the site drainage directs storm water to run towards and under the foundation. Performed impressive in depth roof assessment but failed to mention that interior lighting and ceiling fan associated wall switches were a mess of do-it-yourself mistakes and polarity reverses amplified by a plethora of unmarked remotes, that could take thousands to rewire correctly. Many more examples.... Overall my satisfaction with this firm is 3.5 stars. But it's not that "linear", and the rating is a complex one. Don't go off my rating solely based on a number. They had many good points in the report but they missed some enduring disconnects in my book. I think I expected more. I was on a short time line (I was visiting family and was going back to the Mainland in a few days) and needed an inspection on a property since our offer was accepted. I initially went with another inspection company, but they kept changing the inspection time on me. I sent a text message to request an inspection and in literally 2 minutes, Stratton gave me a call. That's some good sales skills right there! Stratton was super friendly, professional and noted down all the necessary information needed. Even better, he understood my short time line and was able to schedule an inspection asap. In addition, their quote was very reasonable and competitive with other companies. A couple days later, it was inspection day and I had the pleasure of having Kohl inspect our condo. When buying a home an inspection is a must! Even though you are already investigating a large amount of money in one of the largest purchases in your lifetime..an inspection is a must. With a short deadline to closing and a 10 day inspection window we called Paradise Home on a weekend to schedule a service for a Tuesday which was 2 days before Thanksgiving. The inspector, Kekoa showed up promptly and was extremely polite and patient. He explained his process and welcomed questions as he conducted his walk-thru and review. Kekoa took a load of pictures and explained his findings along the way. After 4 hours, a report was ready in summary and detailed format with pictures. It was a great way to document our conversation about the property. The inspection cannot find everything wrong however we were very happy with the results.
