Asking for an additional fee on top of that feels like he's trying to take advantage. Proper maintenance work should uncover problems without a separate service call charge. I reached out because there were serious ongoing concerns in my home, involving exposed walls, abnormal air quality, and conditions that affected my family's health and safety. At the time, children were living in the home, and the wall area had remained exposed for an extended period. The inspection was not the cause of the problem. It was conducted because I needed answers about conditions that already existed inside the unit. The inspection helped confirm that mold concerns were present in the air and on surfaces within the home, including in my daughter's bedroom. After the inspection, I pursued code enforcement. That process resulted in multiple code violations being identified, and repairs were required. My family was displaced as a result of the condition of the home, not because of anything this company created.
