She fixed it with an extra layer of top coat. My polish chipped and peeled within 24 hours. I feel bad that students are provided products that don't set them up fir success. There was a group of students nearby, working on each others' nails, talking about personal subjects and swearing. It didn't really bother me but it seemed unprofessional.

She was on her phone a ton and even left me with foils in because she "wanted a break". She was NOT professional at all and honestly didn't do the best job (it's not easy to mess up an ombre, so overall it looks alright plus my hair is curly so it's easy to hide). She didn't even cut my hair because she didn't know what she was doing (the instructor took over and cut it all). I still tipped her well over 20% only because I work in the service industry and understand that everyone has bad days but come on Empire staff; why would you put someone with a huge request (color, foils, and a cut) with a student who doesn't want to be there? Needless to say I was terrified about my hair getting drastically botched AND if anyone needs an ombre, I am pretty sure I am more qualified to do one than my hair dresser considering the instructor held her hand very tightly during each and every step.

I ended up taking a chance and driving 20 minutes to see if they had openings. Fortunately, they just happened to have one opening when I showed up. The woman I got this time around must have been very new, or at least new to cutting mens hair because she was very nervous. Again, this is a school so I don't mind that it takes a bit longer and understand there's a chance something could go wrong. The instructor basically gave me an entire haircut in about 10 minutes when she came to review the student's work. My second time here also took about 90 minutes, so I think this is a safe bet for a mens cut.

The stage 3 student, Julia, kept repeating how my hair is too thick. Yet, at any other place I have never faced an issue. Even when i'd get much cheaper blowouts at this local salon before I moved here from NYC. On top of this, Julia was extremely rude. I told her it's been more than an hour and she said it'll only take an hour. She looks at me point blank saying, "There's nothing I can do. This is a school." They had to bring in another lady to do the other half of my hair. When I went home, my blowout had been completely undone. I wish to get a refund to be honest. Please, mothers, other girls, do not go here. Just pay the big bucks and go to another place. Julia also kept inappropriately sharing about her personal life with me whilst washing my hair. Fortunately I knew this machine was too good to give up on it. I found a different service person, and got it fully functional in a week, with no parts needed (except a bobbin part.) It would have been a crime to sell this machine for scrap. They clearly don't have the best repair people at all.
