Little slow with service to start but very comfortable seating. Started with half duck. For the price i would have thought they would do table-side. Kinds placed in middle of table. Last night we had the pleasure of dining at Moli in Greenwich, CT. I have heard so much about this restaurant. Oh boy! What big disappointment this restaurant turned out to be! We were truly impressed by the decor and the ambiance. The food generally tasted good but the service was just mediocre. We ordered Moli Moli and magic city for drinks, oysters, satay wagyu (which was delicious), rainbow soup dumplings, corriander lamb chops, miso cod clay pot, Peking duck fried rice, jasmine gelato and jasmine mousse cake. So this is how our evening went 1. We ordered drinks. My husband's drink came very late, much later than mine. In fact his came after the second appetizer was served! 2. Our plates were taken away in between the appetizers and we were told that they will bring us clean plates. Well the plates never came. 3. My husband ordered lamb chops. They brought the fork but not the knife. Wonder how can you eat lamb chops without knife 4. I wanted a second drink. They gave us the cocktail menu but didn't bother to come back to take our order. We had to flag them down and the drink arrived when I was almost done with my main course. 4. My black pot cod had a bone in it. I am used to having fish with bones so did not make a big deal about it. But I am pretty sure this is not how cod is served in a fancy restaurant! 5. We asked for dessert menu and they gave us two different menus. When we asked them about which one to use, they acknowledged that they provided an old menu. 6. When the check arrived I noticed that they had double charged us for rice. Imagine paying $56 for fried rice! Overall I would say the food was good but the service was horrible. I decided to give Moli a try for the first time on my birthday , wrong thing to do. I dine pretty well and frequent this place was giving a "Tao" replica . I get the ambiance and look they are going for but... There were 3 people in my party , first they sat us in the front room away from the other tables lol. I'm not even going to touch on that subject as far as what I think. Second it's so darn loud and dark in there , too much . It took 25 mins for our waitress to come to the table. The food was alright . Not impressed . For apps we ordered yellowtail crudo and shrimp truffle dumplings. The dumplings had a funny taste , according to our waitress the owner or whoever told her to tell us that's how it taste ... like .... The dumplings had too many flavors going on , not a good mix. Next the entrees we ordered broccoli which was cold and looked old . Some scallop and shrimp dish , the scallops were sliced thin , why are you not putting whole chunky scallops in the dish it's Greenwich ! lol I expect top quality food . We also had this shrimp and asparagus dish , I don't even remember how it was honestly nothing spectacular. I ordered a cocktail the server comes over as if he's going to light the drink on fire or do some cool stuff , he sprays lavender on my glass! . Seems to me like corners are being cut all for this "look" lol. The food presentation was unappealing. I was over it ! The manager was checking in on every table and bar attendees but not us lol. Chose to come to this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and also I loved the name of the restaurant (Jasmine flower). The vibe (I agree with a previous reviewer) was a 12/10: sophisticated, discreet, yet also a little whimsical. The service was impeccable (I've worked at a super upscale classic restaurant in NYC). The food was super-delicious. I would say the portions are perfect. We ordered too much food, and had a lot to take home (the take home bag was also stunning). Yes, I gave a 5 star rating. I would say, the one thing I didn't think was ideal was just how pricey everything was - but it was an upscale experience, yet not stuffy, and the noise level was great (I'm sensitive to noise levels). The ambiance and service are easily a 10/10. The interior is stunning, and our server was very attentive. We tried a couple of the dim sum appetizers, but my favorite appetizer by far was the crispy eggplant. The lobster tempura was what I was most excited for and honestly it was just okay. The star of the show was the miso glazed cod. It was served in a clay pot with mushrooms and bok choy, and without a doubt I'd say it's one of my favorite dishes I've ever had. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a complimentary ice cream that was so simple but honestly to die for. It had a light jasmine flavor and we devoured it. The place is very pretty. The food is spotty. The staff is sorely lacking in training, from the icy hostesses to the waitstaff. None of the employees seemed the least bit pleased to be there. There was no Maitre D' walking around to check on customers, although there was a gentleman there who periodically passed through successfully avoiding eye contact with everyone. The service was inept - our waitress gave us one incorrect dish and omitted another entirely. The busser attempted to remove our drinks and then our plates before we were done with them. Overall the experience can best be described as unpleasant, which is particularly unfortunate considering the prices. read more

What a wonderful meal we had! The food and service was impeccable! We really enjoyed celebrating my girlfriend's birthday here. We were looking for a place which would be different and Molí hit on all levels. The restaurant is just beautiful. As you walk in the have a beautiful bar area which really makes you want to slide up into the bar. As you walk into the dining room, your eyes are immediately drawn to the huge chandelier in the center of the restaurant. They have a 2nd floor dining area but we did not go up there. For our appetizer my girlfriend had the Peking duck spring rolls and I had the crispy eggplant. Both appetizers were good but my eggplant was outrageously good. It was so crispy and so garlicky. I loved it. For our entrees I had the seafood stir fry which was good. Great flavor to it. My girlfriend had the clay pot cod which she just loved. Went for a late Valentine's Day celebration (the day after, on Feb 15th) and had a lovely experience. Expectations were high based on what friends had said and posted, and was not disappointed. Ambiance is top notch; feels very high end and impressive, definitely unique. The 5-star rating is our overall impression, based on the ambiance, service, and cocktails. It's really the only place of its kind in Greenwich, and price point felt appropriate for what we received, unlike so many other restaurants on the Avenue in Greenwich (feels like so many other restaurants overcharge without offering anything special). For food, we had the rainbow soup dumplings, the Peking duck, and the Taiwan lo mein. The soup dumplings were good but were perhaps trying too hard; the best was the pork, which is after all the traditional. The Peking duck was executed extremely well; have been to other places that can't pull this off, but Moli delivered here. The Taiwan lo mein was just alright, but still good. Wouldn't call it mediocre, but not special either. So though we'd likely only give it 4 stars based on the food alone, the overall experience was certainly 5 stars. read more

We had an amazing dinner here. Let me start off by saying this place is absolutely gorgeous! Visually it is one of the prettiest restaurants out there. Very grand and perfect for a romantic dinner or celebration. The food was fantastic and the service was superb. We were very lucky to have Freddy as our server and he was incredibly attentive and gave us some wonderful recommendations that we were so happy to have listened. Hosts led us to our table; maitre'd barely nodded. The upstairs is pretty but it can be quite loud and somewhat tight. As a relatively new venue it was bustling. Food was good (miso cod) but not great (neither the duck rolls nor Peking). Service was filled with very pleasant but poorly trained servers. Based on this experience, given the price and competition, I would hope they improve or, like the last 5 in this space, they may not fill it for very long. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes and a drink. Lobster dumpling; I didn't like it, it smelled fishy to me, but they had big lobster chunks in them, Ribs appetizer, it was good. Main dishes we ordered Lobster & shrimp and Filet Mignon, they were both very good, good souse, very tasty! Our first waiter was a very nice Colombian gentleman we liked him, he gave us a nice cute table and we had a nice conversation with him. For some reason they replaced our waiter with this weird RUDE guy, he was rushing us to be done QUICKLY, while the whole place was almost empty ( 4.30pm) he was keep touching my chop sticks, rearranging our table, taking our plates away while we are still chewing, he was clearly rushing us out. When we were asking questions, he was answering rudely, for example main lobster dish; some of the lobster chunks came in shell and we couldn't take them out of their hard shells and we asked from him a "lobster cracker", he rudely said he doesn't understand what we want, we explained to him lobsters shells are hard and we can't take out the meat,He shrugged and said "use the chop sticks!! " and walked away. We tried the chop sticks and they get broken, we couldn't get the Lobster meat out of the claws. We paid 46$ for this dish and a lots of lobster meat stayed in the shells to go to garbage, i am disappointed! Several times we asked from him, a thin fork or a lobster cracker and he rudely denied us! Basically we couldn't eat all of our dish! He was the only rude one and he ruined this experience for us.. Filet Mignon was great, both of the main dishes tasted great! I took 2 stars off for rude, very bad server. Another star off for, next to the main dishes there is nothing, they have to give some rice, their souses are really good you need that rice :). So we asked for rice side dish, they charged extra $4 for a dry tiny bowl of rice, while we are still eating the rude waiter took one of the rice bowl away, it was still full of rice in it, my husband was still eating it!. Decoration is really very beautiful, main dishes and the moli moli drink was great but it came half cup empty :) Our first waiter (sorry we don't know their names Colombian vegetarian) gentleman was really very nice but the replacement guy really ruined for us, also there was a really nice lady who get us the rice she was really sweet too. We've lived in Greenwich for nearly 50 years and seen this venue go through many permutations. This one, by far, is the best. The ambiance is beautiful and upscale. The food is tops. Wonderful. There is no room to sit let alone order a drink at the bar while you wait. On a Saturday night there is loud heavy club music playing the whole evening, which may or may not be your vibe. Once we sat down, waitress couldn't be bothered to tell us anything about the menu or dishes. Food took an hour to get to us, and once we did get it my first dish had a hair in it. When I told the waitress nothing was done besides getting me a new plate. But despite all this I was so excited to try their signature dessert, tiramisu.
