Steak tartar- 10/10 make it an entree sized portion and serve it with fries. Its the best dish on the menu. Skirt steak with asparagus, truffle fires and red wine sauce- love the description, didnt love the execution. Steak was too charred- blackened, turning it bitter and not good for people to consume meat blackened that way! Grill marks are one thing but this was too much black. Didnt taste good. Meat itself was also pretty flavorless and a bit chewy. Red wine sauce wasnt great, and I love almost all red wine sauces! Asparagus were cooked well. Also the fries- these are sysco food service fries. A restaurant at this caliber should do better. Go to the elm in new canaan, try their fries. And while youre at it, try to up your ingredient quality they way they do- no seed oils, etc. makes a huge difference and would play well with the greenwich crowd! read more

On weekends, they have a two-course lunch pre fixe, which has a wide variety of options to choose from, which was great. I chose: - Appetizer: Tuna Tartare - Main: Mushroom & Asparagus Risotto The restaurant wasn't full but the service was a bit slow. Especially after our appetizers, we had to wait quite some time for our main dish to be served. The dishes were well-presented, although not the best seasoned. The tuna tartare had too much soy sauce on it and you couldn't taste the tuna. The risotto, on the other hand, was a bit bland. Went there for dinner on a Thursday night and left extremely disappointed. It was 8:45pm when I placed the order only to be told shortly after that the kitchen was already closed and we wouldn't be served. Seems completely out of line when online it says the kitchen closes at 10! The bartender seemed confused at this and no one came forward to explain or help with the situation. I had a chicken mushroom pasta. Chicken was flavorful but the dish was bland, uncreative, and uninspired. Almost like they threw noodles into a roast chicken with mushroom gravy. Second, the wine selection mostly sucks. Nothing interesting, just over sweet or mondo bold Napa and Italian reds and whites. There was one Bordeaux that was ok. But honestly what I would've given for some chateauxnuf du pape or a Montrachet. Something French maybe. I would've expected a wine bar to be more sophisticated--especially in Greenwich. read more

Came here for a solo dinner on a Saturday night around 8p and was quickly seated. The place was busy and it was loud (music and people). It took a little longer than expected to get service, but once I did, everything from there on out was great. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc which I sipped on while having the complimentary bread, hummus, and olive oil - great! For my meal, I was between the Chicken and Mushroom Pappardelle or the Seafood Risotto. I was recommended the Seafood Risotto (on the specials menu) because I was hungry and it was more food. The Seafood Risotto did not disappoint - filling and very good. I had some room for dessert so I tried the Chocolate Lava Cake which was so good! I've passed by Harvest many times but never had a chance to try the food. I didn't even know it was a wine bar - but I like the sound of that ! I tried the highly rated " Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad " with Parmesan risotto cake and truffle vinaigrette. Did you know that Brussels sprouts are named after Brussels Belgium ? And that I usually can't stand them (the sprouts not Belgian people) ? Well this salad will make a Brussels sprout lover out of anyone - it's delicious! This restaurant is such a staple on Greenwich Ave. I've been coming consistently since it opened years ago, and it never disappoints. Their bar is great too, they make a very good martini and have a wide selection of specialty cocktails. The menu has something for everyone and you can't make a bad choice. Make sure to start off with their famous shaved Brussels sprouts salad that's piled on a bed of crispy rice and the best crispy artichokes. Any of the entrees are fantastic, so choose what you're in the mood for. This time, I enjoyed their wood fired filet mignon special and it was perfect. The truffle mashed potatoes on the side were amazing too. My only complaint is this restaurant does get VERY noisy especially for dinner... they really should invest in some sound absorbers for the ceiling/walls, it would make such a big difference in the ambience. Cool smaller spot which was packed and good environment. Try the Harvest Mule to start and you can't go wrong. There are so many options and don't think anything at this place would treat you wrong. The consistent theme across most tables were the clams...didn't get to try but seemed to be a hit. We started with the large crab cakes and crispy calamari. Two Large crab cakes on top of a corn and pickled onion stack...they are absolutely wonderful wish more came on the plate. Full of flavor and very good. The crispy calamari - now that is one thing you can't pass up. You get a decent amount of calamari plus some fried peppers and jalapeños in the mix as well. If you are a condiment person then the sauces will be right up your alley. The red sauce is spicy but also sweet...perfect mix with the white sauce. If u get both of these try the cakes in the red sauce - pretty decent. Again can't go wrong. Dinner - well let's see lobster roll - perfecto!!! Must get and you won't be mad. Seriously an upscale twist to an on the go roll. Shrimp - calamari scampi - ohhhh grilled calamari and shrimp nestled on a bed of pasta - so so good. We had some other things as well Pasta Carbonara and Seared Seafood. Both good as well and would get any of them again. We hadn't been there since they built the bar area which is a nice addition. We wanted to sit outside so we waited for a table at the bar. The bartender was a downer. Don't think he even cracked a smile. He seemed to have little or no knowledge about the tequilas they had. We usually enjoy chatting with the bartender about fun cocktails but this guy was not having that at all. It set the tone for us before we even got to our table. That said our server was great, she was pleasant and attentive. The food was good but not "over the top". I had a shrimp and lobster risotto special which was good but not really worth its cost of $42. Went here for A quick lunch. The food was amazing! Started with the tuna tartar which came with homemade potato chips on the side. There were big chunks of avocado in the tuna which made it creamy and delicious. I got the lobster roll my mom got the branzino and we both shared the everything spiced fries. The lobster roll was UH-MAZING. It was mayo based, super creamy and super fresh. It also came with those same homemade chips and a side salad which had a tangy vinegar dressing. Was my first time in Greenwich for business. I had a client lunch and the partner on my engagement picked the place. Coming in from New York via train, it was a walk away from the train station, which was the reason why we picked the place. I'll be honest, I don't eat well during work lunches, but the food was so delicious. Also, for lunch, you can get a prix fix, a starter and a main, for $21. Is that a lot of CT? I am so used to paying $20 just for a meal in New York that I was blown out of my mind and thought we went cheap on the client. The one thing I did not notice on their menu was they did not have dessert. Maybe they do have dessert, but I did not see it on their menu at the restaurant or online. The one thing that was a bit annoying was I had to call to make a reservation and they open at 12 pm. However, the reservation process is easy peasy. No risk of losing a place if we showed up late or anything like that. read more

I've only been here during brunch and their brunch deal is such a good deal! For $20 I get to choose a first and second course. It doesn't come with a drink but with the options of food you get it's worth it! I've tried a few option from their first course. Their mussels are such a big portions and the sauce it comes with is great for dipping bread in. Their spicy salmon tartar is delicious and the chips that come with it pair nicely. I've also tried their shaved Brussel sprout salad and I'm usually not a big fan of this kind of salad but they shred it so finely that it works so well especially with all the toppings. For their second choice they have a lot of options and it's also a good portion. You're going to leave full when you're done. I've tried their salmon, gnocchi, and a few other things but there really isn't a bad option. They have a good amount of cocktails that could fit anybody as well and a well stocked wine list. read more

I knew I was in trouble when I went to Harvest to pick up an order that I placed 30 minutes prior. Grabbed the bull by the horns and dodge whatever came my way- since I know Lunch can be at times chaotic here. And hope and pray that I get my order, pay and get out. In. That. Order. Maybe it was just that particular day, but for that short moment, I picked up my order, it was overwhelmingly loud. Not average, not quiet. Just loud. Design though, is rustic- really digging their simple style with some industrialized pops here and there. I almost always order the Fried Calamari- which is always cooked to perfection: crispy all the way through and spicy dipping sauce that's out of this world- every time. The Salmon Tartare with homemade potato chips and Arugula salad is also a showstopper!!! From what I remember, Harvest seems to be cutting corners with their Fried Calamari: portion seems smaller. Harvest is now adding Thai Chilis- frying those up and including them in the Calamari batch- as if to somehow, stretch the order. Still good- just noticed the difference. Service is always pleasant and on point. This is my ultimate go-to for Lunch. The good here, always outweighs the bad. read more
