The food is great but, when you go in make sure you look at the price on the menu and compare it to the charges. Each charge, for instance, an enchilada plate for (example) $10.99, you will be charge at least 50 cents more for that particular item. So you get a drink, 50 cents more, enchilada plate 50 cents more. Now charging extra for tortillas, really? Add that up with every menu item for a family it will be at least a $5 or more difference. Why they don't go by the price on the menu, not sure? I feel like just trying to get away with charging more and hopefully no one notices. Won't be going back to a place that does that to the customers. Lots more Mexican Food places that don't practice that type of scheme. read more

I'll take my dad there once a week to eat and he loves the food the chips and salsa we commonly eat the fajitas and beef enchiladas all are very wonderful. Not real fond of the beef fajita meat. It's a little bit half so we usually do chicken. read more

The service here is amazing as well as the food! The chips are thick, crispy, and buttery and the salsa is just a kick of heat with so much background flavor it's not only addicting but it becomes a craving! Although every item is delicious, I have to focus on some basics. I'm not used to getting amazing guacamole or rice at other places, but at Peraltas, they have THE best rice and guacamole of any Mexican restaurant in the area! The food always comes out quickly and with great service- the waitresses anticipate every need/want, always seem so happy and smiling, and very friendly! We love coming here for the food and the environment/service. Also, I have mild food allergies(rash, tummy issues, eczema ) and the waitresses KNOW what ingredients go into the items they serve and answer questions with so much understanding and willingness to provide meals without worry of an allergic reaction. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal and have great interactions with the staff! read more

I've been here a couple of times. The spinach enchiladas taste like spinach from a can on a flour tortilla. The sauce is decent, but everything tastes frozen & reheated. Tortillas come from a bag in the back, nothing seems homemade. The rice is decent. I wouldn't recommend going to a restaurant for salsa & rice. read more

We made a return trip to Peralta's yesterday for lunch as we stopped in Grand Saline to visit family. Another great experience! The service here is so quick, friendly, and courteous. The lunch plates are still HUGE - great value. I stuck with the sour cream chicken enchiladas again, but DH ordered a dish wish marinated chicken topped with sauteed bell peppers, carmelized onions, and mushrooms in addition to some cheese (Monterrey Jack, I think). It was fantastic! For the price, the great customer service, and the delicious food, it really can't be beat by any other Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant in this price point, especially in East Texas. Definitely stop in when your in town or driving through. read more

We have been to Peralta's several times but after our last visit we will not be returning. To start, the waiter argued over how my husband was ordering his food (nothing fancy, directly off the menu) then when I received my shrimp fajitas they had left the tails on...when my husband questioned the owner we were told to wait till our food got cold to remove them ourselves! They gave the hottest plate on the table to my 3yr old son saying they didn't have any cool plates in the kitchen. Then to top it all off when my husband was paying the bill he saw them over charge him but they denied it. After I returned to the register and demanded that they check, it was found that we had been over charged! We will not be returning ever again. read more

Great attentive, speedy service. Ate our meal with small children and were still in and out in less than an hour. We were born and raised in East Texas on Tex Mex.. we have eaten it at many restaurants in Tyler and Longview and surrounding areas. We have a favorite mexican restaurant that all are judged against, this one included. All good Tex Mex restaurants should have awesome chips and hot sauce and cheese enchiladas with chili gravy. Unfortunately, they do not here. Peralta's chips were not appealing. Too thick and cooked until dark golden produced an overcooked, almost burned flavor. Hot sauce was good with perfect spiciness, though a bit salty. No green sauce available. My cheese enchilada was filled with colby jack cheese, which of course hardens/ becomes chewy as it cools. Cheese enchiladas should have a soft, flavorful cheese inside that stays soft. The chili gravy was not a gravy sauce at all, but a chili con carne with a lot of meat. Extremely disappointing. This should be the very basic star of all tex mex, a tried and true staple. Rice was a bit salty. Husband at least liked his fajita quesadillas-- try that if you stop here. My dish also came with a "cheese taco"-- turns out it was a corn tortilla with liquid queso inside rolled like an enchilada and with queso poured over it. Their queso had a disappointing flavor too- tasted like velveeta with rotel, complete with both red and green in it instead of only green peppers/ chiles. Best place to eat in Grand Saline, from a long time worker in town. Lunch is super fast, and I have tried literally everything on the menu. ..and it is all at least good is not great. The blackened chicken is a favorite, and always get pinto beams instead of refried, they are amazing. read more

Service is spot on - the food is good and the chips and salsa are plentiful. I've eaten here several times and it's always consistent. I recommend the #2 for lunch (Tacos Al Carbon) - but they change the set up for dinner so you may want to ask for the lunch set up. The only thing that could be improved is if they'd pick up your credit card by default at the table instead of having to go to the cash register to pay.
