This is the cutest little lodge and has amazing history behind it. The service is excellent as well! At first I was a little surprised at their limited menu... but here's the thing... they do it well. I actually realized I preferred that.. if you can nail the items you do offer... so worth it. We got the French Dip sandwich (side of horseradish and au jous), chicken sandwich, hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken tenders and fries, and the special soup of the day - beef stew. Ok, guys, the beef stew... I'm going to be dreaming about it. It has their prime rib and drippings in it and thr flavor is amazing. We got one cup and my family helped me eat it so I got a second cup. Everything was delicious. One of my sons got the chicken sandwich with coleslaw. Coleslaw is so hit or miss... but this was a hit. There wasn't anything we didnt enjoy. The chicken was a nice thick cut, had amazing seasoning in the breading and was perfectly fried. The hamburgers I got medium and they were also cooked well. We had a great experience! Molly's is the cutest lodge! I absolutely loved the history and how sentimental the place was. I loved reading more about Molly and seeing all of the photographs up! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Their service absolutely sets them apart, so impressed! The food was phenomenal! My filet was so tender and flavorful and I loved the mashed potatoes and Mormon gravy! My husband ordered the pasta special and it was so good! Molly Butler is the oldest lodge in Arizona and was cool to experience this place a little after I got into town. After a short stroll of the Butler Canyon nature trail, I came in here to check it out. I initially sat at the bar and the bartender told me to go register myself with the hostess. She said put your name down, have a drink and when we're ready, you can order some dinner. Interesting way to set up customers but no complaints at all. This is a beautiful lodge and restaurant and this is a must see when in town. It sits high on Main Street and if you snag a table outside, you can see a lot going on in town and you face just a beautiful high mountain AZ backdrop. Waitress/bartender was super kind to me and took good care of me. I had a Pinetop Brewing Co blonde and that was delicious! For dinner, I ordered the almondine trout which came with salad, bread, and your choice of a side, so I had mashed potatoes. Everything was made to perfection and the trout was soo good! I also sat down in the bar area next to some really nice folks also from Phoenix and they gave me the scoop on everything to do in town! They told me it was Greer Days, so got the whole weekend itinerary. They were just lovely! Overall, a really lovely meal here and will definitely come back when I am in town again. We are there on a Friday and Saturday night, they were busy but staff was working hard. First night we did not have a reservation so we waited an hour for two but we were still able to get drinks and wait inside or on the porch. Highly recommend you making reservations. The food was really good. We shared the mink burger and it came with fries, a loaf of bread and a salad (I think you could choose different sides). It was a lot of food but soooooo good. My family spent Thanksgiving 2025 at Molly Butler's. The restaurant is warm inviting decorated beautifully. The staff was above and beyond. They just redid their bar with a pool table and Photo Booth and it is a lot of fun. I can't recommend going here for Thanksgiving if you ever are in the area. So we were visiting our friends in a nearby town called, eager Arizona. We went to this cool little restaurant in Greer and sat on the patio. Our waiter Tristan was fantastic! Couldn't ask for better service and the food was excellent! My husband had the special which was a turkey bacon sub with a side salad. I had a bowl of Beef Barley Vegetable soup with delicious sweet potato fries! My friend had a martini and she is very picky about her martinis and she absolutely loved it! Highly recommend if you're in this area don't miss out and ask for Tristan. Super nice kid! And the manager is super nice as well and attentive! This little town restaurant has so much history and charm. The inside was cozy and the service was great. The soup was the perfect ratio of beef,barley, and veggies. I only wished they served it with some kind of bread. We also got the coffee from the downstairs coffee shop. I got a Vanilla chai with espresso and my friend got a cinnamon/honey latte. Molly Butler Lodge Restaurant was a solid pick during our stay in Greer. The food was all-around good and reasonably priced. The ambiance felt fitting for the area--rustic, wooden, and cozy. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms, and while we didn't pop into the bar, it seemed like people were enjoying themselves there. Our server, Jayln, was friendly and helpful. We didn't have too many questions, but for the few we asked, she was quick and knowledgeable with her answers. Parking wasn't tricky--there are a handful of spots right in front of the building, which made things easy. Food-wise, I had the fish and chips--about what I expected. The fries were fine, typical shoestring style. My wife had the rainbow trout almondine, which she liked--good portion, nicely done. Mashed potatoes were also fine, nothing special, but solid. We skipped the gravy since we don't eat meat aside from fish. Others in our group got the sirloin steak and the "Hot Dang" chili. Heard the chili was spicier than expected but still enjoyable. The steak was reported as somewhere between good and standard. Vegetarians should know there are a few starters that work, but mains are limited. That said, it's one of the nicer dinner spots in Greer and can still pass as a casual sit-down place. Worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

Pls make a reservation to avoid long wait times! Okay first time in Greer, we were looking for dinner so decided to give Molly a try. Honestly there were like 3/4 restaurants around and 2 were closed. We put our name down and waited for an hour to get a table. In the meantime we went for a walk. Mind you this place alone feeds the entire cabin community in Greer so pls expect long wait time or make a reservation early. After we got seated it took another 15 mins to get our server take our orders. We got 2 glass of wine with Southwest Pasta and Charred Salmon. The food was served with complimentary house bread and Shamrock Butter. The salmon was so good and we chose pilaf rice as a side and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. Next the pasta was cooked perfectly with sausage and veggies! Overall decent meal considering the remote location. The restaurant gives old country diner vibe with country decor all over the restaurant. The service was on the slower side. But the was good enough and the servers were very kind and spoke to us nicely. Kept checking on us. We enjoyed our dinner! I wish I had more pictures to share. read more

Love this place, anytime we are in Greer it is a must! The mormon gravy is truly the best gravy I have ever had. Service is always great and the staff is super attentive. There were rarely dirty dishes on the table and our waters were always full. My favorite is Molly's special steak and this time we tried the shrimp cocktail that was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has the ambiance of a grandparents home. It is so warm and cozy! I cannot wait to return and have another great meal. read more

I never write poor reviews. I feel that businesses have good days and bad, but this business has consistently been very poor. Everyone raves about the chili. Yes, its excellent. BUT, we have had 4 EPISODES of bad business decisions. At this point, I can't keep quiet any longer. The first episode was after covid shutdown. We had a gift certificate that had expired during this time and (obviously) we could not use it. We came for lunch with 8 people in our party, and the restaurant would not honor the gift certificate. Mind you, gift certificates mean they already have the money. Ok, we were not happy, but forgave them. The next episode came on a Saturday around 12:30p, a busy time for any restaurant, especially one in a "destination area." Our party had 26 people, the hostess/bartender refused to seat. us. We wanted lunch and cocktails. Very disappointing. She said they didn't have the wait staff. The 3rd episode was July 4th weekend, Saturday. We arrived 15 min before 2pm with a party of 16 people. The wait staff refused to seat our party because she said they closed in 15 min and lunch service was over. Really? We were all there for cocktails, appetizers and lunches. This was easily at $650 plus tip ticket or more. The last straw was this weekend. 36 of us came on Sunday at 12:30 to again, have cocktails, appetizers and lunch. The entire patio was closed off (plenty of room for us). The bartender (very slow and unprofessional, as a side note), refused to seat us. Said they didn't have the staff to serve us. This is a beautiful Sunday afternoon. No staff? That's on the owners. Rude wait staff, that's on the waitresses. Our group is all mid 60's-70 year old professionals. We take day rides in our side by side vehicles through the countryside. I can only imagine that the owners of this restaurant and bar are not hands on and do not care to make money. The people they have running the place have not a care about the business' success and it shows. I feel we have given them plenty of opportunities to be professional and to make up for mistakes. OMG... best prime rib I had in a very long time! We arrived early was told without a reservation it would be 1-1.5 hour wait to eat. Very poor customer service we came from out of town looking for a NYE experience event and so we just stopped to ask a question at this little diner, we went up to the hostess stand upfront and the girl looked at us with a disgusted look on her face with us because we were the only Hispanic group in the restaurant but everyone that came in was greeted with a smile and warm welcome we needed directions and wanted to buy hot chocolate for this cold weather they told us it was a 30 minute wait and we had to make a reservation and rolled her eyes at us. WHERE is the customer service here and in such a small town I am a General Manager of a restaurant and this is not the way any customer should be treated! Got here on a Tuesday after 1600. Happy hour is from 4-5. You can have drinks and ceviche. No other food during that time. $3 beer, $4 well drinks and $6 wine. You have to have a reservation for after 5. Easy enough today. But without it, you could be moved at 5 if you chose patio seating. They have been around since 1910. This was our first visit to Molly Butler's and our first visit back to Greer since the disastrous forest fire some 10 years ago. Let's just say, 'Things Aren't the Same.' As to the restaurant, the service provided by Kaylee was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. Surprising that more people were not there on Labor Day weekend. We both ordered trout almondine but our sides differed. I had a baked potato and salad which were good. The wife had clam chowder and wild rice. She liked the clam chowder and I did as well with my small taste. She was indifferent about the wild rice which she thought tasted a bit off. The small warm loaf of bread was a nice touch and they graciously gave us a second which I devoured. As to the trout... farm raised fish, let alone trout, does not hold a candle to wild, period. I don't remember ever ordering trout in a restaurant before and I doubt that I will do it again. While the sauce was good, the trout was tasteless. Pan fried, freshly caught TROUT is the way to go. That was our goal in going to Greer. Even wild fozen is OK in a pinch. Our fault, but we do have to deduct a star for this. Would be go back? My burger was $37. They didn't tell me that the cheese, onions and side potato was an additional $12. They upsell you and don't mention anything about the prices. Super scammy. Oh and the sour cream on my dad's potato was $4. We also asked 4 different people to turn on the fire on a freezing cold night and they all individually came back and told us "we forgot", and then still didn't turn it on. (We were there for another 30 minutes) We were laughing so hard at how bad it was. No complaints on the food other than the burger and potato was worth $20-24 for that quality, not $37.
