I made a reservation on line because we were coming up to Greer for a few days. Our first time here and the on-line reservation system was easy and I got an email back from the owner confirming our reservation. One of the major reasons we chose this restaurant is that they are one of the few in Greer that are dog friendly. We were sat on the outside porch and had a great space to set them up. There were two other groups on the patio but we were the only one with pups. Started with the Artichoke & Jalapeno Dip with tortilla chips. Oh my goodness, this was some of the best dip! It was perfect and tasty. I also ordered the grilled salmon with tartar sauce. The salmon was great with a tasty seasoning and cooked perfectly. Did not care for the tarter sauce. It came with some fantastic veggies which were sauteed lightly so they retained their crunch and some very creamy mashed potatoes. Wife had the cheese tortellini, which were good but we both agreed that it wasn't a favorite! And of course we had to try the grilled Amaretto peaches with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...ok, so this was the best!!! The peaches were grilled enough to make marks and bring out the sweetness. We both realize we didn't have photos to share which I'm sad about but guessing attention was focused on dogs, LOL! Service was slow so want to put that out there...we learned through the evening that they only had one cook and I believe the owner was also helping in the kitchen. The others sitting on the porch near us also made mention of the slowness...the larger party was getting one dish delivered at a time and the other couple waited a very long time for their meals to be served. We drove into Greer last night after leaving Tucson that morning. Once we arrived, we were exhausted, tired and hungry. There's no DoorDash here! And we certainly didn't want to get back in the car and drive the forty-plus minutes to Show Low. I looked on Yelp and we decided to go to Omnivores. When we came in, we were greeted by Mary Anne (the sister of the cook, sister in law of the owner) who comes up from Mesa when they need help. She was wonderful and a delightful conversationalist, and really, just lovely altogether. We need more like her! Greg, the owner, was also wonderful. They didn't have pineapple for my turkey burger so we improvised and I had it with onions and arugula, and a particularly beautiful slice of brilliant red tomato. Yum. Turkey burgers can be tricky because they often end up too dry. Not this time! DH said the cheese tortellini with chicken and pesto was delicious. I had a bite. Can confirm! Before returning to our little cabin for the night, we each ordered a scoop of Tillamook (yes! the BEST!) vanilla ice cream with hot fudge sauce, which we ate while listening to our Friday night podcast. In a town where there aren't a ton of dining options, Omnivores is a wonderful option. Great people, great service, and great food. After a long day of being chased by Greer bears (thanks to my careless human assistants) I remembered that I had a reservation at this somewhat hidden, but cool restaurant. I ordered the salmon and my human assistants ordered a steak. Both were very good, as was the service. The restaurant is located in a resort (of some sort), and there is a nice pond in the back where I reflected on my career as an investigative reporter. The restaurant follows a rather strange schedule and the table count is limited, so make sure you reserve a table or call before you show up! Watch out for bears too! read more

Omnivores is at Snowy Mountain Lodge and was serving dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We were staying in Greer but didn't have a kitchen so we found Omnivores and have no regrets at all. The hot pretzel appetizer was superb but then we each enjoyed a delicious burger. While waiting for our burgers, the proprietor was talking with a table near us where the couple was having trouble selecting a wine to complement their entrees. I was super impressed with his knowledge of wine and food pairings. This is a great place with a beautiful patio overlooking a lake. I had dinner here with my wife and in-laws Saturday night. We sat out on the patio that has a wonderful view. The service was great, everything was made order, even the ice tea was fresh. It's a cozy location a ways down a dirt road but well worth it. All of the food and the drinks were outstanding and full of flavor. read more

This afternoon my family enjoyed the Mother's Day meal at Omnivores. Despite the social distancing limitations and cold weather, the experience was perfect! First off: the food was delicious. My wife and I both ate the salmon, greens, and chocolate cake. Everything was so tasty. The staff was professional, friendly, and made us feel at home. We'll be back to Omnivores soon. read more

Walked into the restaurant at 7pm about 4 cars in the parking lot with many open tables, we did not have a reservation but it was only two of us. When we told the gentleman we didn't have a reservation he did not try to accommodate us and told us there are no tables for us and ushered us out of the door. If you are looking for service like Taco Bell this place is not for you, if you are looking for some outstanding food, beautiful views, cleanliness, and above and beyond hospitality where you can enjoy yourself and just relax then you have come to the right place. It is a little drive down a dirt road but it is well worth it. Yes your meal if you have appetizers and dessert with it will probably take a total of 2.5 hours but it didn't bother anyone in our party at all, we enjoyed the scenery, the ambiance, the staff and each other's company and we didn't feel like we were being rushed out the door. The steak was the best any of us had ever tasted, the pretzels were homemade and awesome, the green chili was awesome, the pork was fantastic, and oh my gosh the toasted pound cake you have to try it! There was honestly no down side or bad part of the entire meal or experience. Would drive out of my way to come here again! We ordered coffee with dessert but they didn't have any flavored creamer so the owner's wife (one of two chefs) actually made us homemade vanilla creamer, who could ask for anything more. Ate here while visiting Greer for our anniversary. I had the green chili chicken and it was delicious! My husband had bang bang shrimp appetizer and side salad. Warning shrimp is spicy but tasty! Wonderful service and food! Despite the whole COVID thing, Greg was able to get us a two top on the deck for a Friday evening dinner. Staff was highly obliging, food was spot on. We went there tonight. Very nice atmosphere. The owner was behind the bar. His waitress was working on her second night. Several tables came in and were seated / ordered at about the same time. You would think that service and/ or quality would suffer. Neither did. Greg (owner) hustled to help his new waitress. The kitchen not only kept up, but the quality was fantastic. So glad we saw the sign for this hidden gem in Greer during our get away from the Phoenix heat. The food was so delicious we went back again the next night. It's such a homey place on site at the Snowy Mountain Inn. They are only open on Friday and Saturday's now; if you are in the area... would for sure recommend you give it a try. The organic mixed greens salad is so good; like it was freshly picked with the best strawberries I have had. My hubby said his margarita was the best ever. The other guests were all raving about their meals. Cannot wait to come back next year when we make our yearly visit to Greer. This is our new favorite place to eat; wish they were in Phoenix! Even the owners make time to checkin with their guests. For years we have been coming to Greer and this remarkable treasure has been a well kept secret. All of the cabins have their own special charm and delightful updated look. The dining experience is like no other in Greer. A favorite is the Hatch Cream Chili served over Chicken, home style rolls and vegetable dishes made daily from the Snowy Mountain kitchen. Freshness and seasonal flare will not disappoint. Don't overlook this gem on the way to Greer. Look for the turnoff for Snowy Mountain Lodge. The menu is limited, but everything that comes out of the kitchen could pass muster in Scottsdale. We have eaten there about four times and we have tried different things, salmon, pasta, chicken and steak. All delicious. The appetizers are top notch and the desserts are yummy. I like the pound cake and fruit. Watch for the big horn sheep that visit the meadow. I look forward to our next visit. read more

This restaurant has a very family feel which we loved. We made a reservation to sit out on the deck (which I highly recommend as it looks out on the Lodge's private lake). This is a restaurant where you relax because the food is clearly made well and individually. In other words don't be in a hurry and get some drinks and enjoy yourselves. Very very disappointed with this restaurant we made reservations the day before there was nine in our party it took an hour and a half to get our meal if it's just a not a very good evening. The food was good when it came I have to admit it was pretty good but they need to work on their service and their cooks they're not going to make it that kind of rate. read more

We joined another couple for an early dinner at Omnivores this evening. Initially, we were very impressed with the attention to the current social distancing situation. We were provided a table on the deck that was moved to remain within the 6 foot distance guidelines. The owner was welcoming and gracious. Our server attended to us immediately and served our beverages and took our dinner order promptly. The food was outstanding - two of us enjoyed the salmon, and two had the hatch chicken pasta. Both dishes were delectable. We topped out our excellent meal sharing two servings of the toasted vanilla pound cake with berries and ice cream, providing a grand finale to an admirable dining adventure. Have grown up coming to Greer my whole life. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting. The food was EXCELLENT and the service was AMAZING. What a delightful surprise. Omnivores is a beautiful home turned into a small restaurant. you walk into a large high ceiling room and are greeted by a beautiful pine bar on one side and a resplendent, large, stone fireplace on the other side. It's a family restaurant and the service feels that way. When asking about what was best on the menu, the owner stated that his wife is the cook and everything was good; a good omen. Everyone ordered something different. I decided on a hamburger. Options included green hatch chilies and cheese so I took both. When ordering I was asked how I wanted it cooked; another good sign. The hamburger was everything I hoped for. The burger was generously thick and cooked to a perfect pink in the middle as requested. The bun was lightly toasted. It came with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and purple sweet onion. The meat was juicy and combination of topping an excellent blend of flavors. The best meal I've had in Greer. My wife and friends comments were equally positive. I looked around after we were finished and teased my friend. It looked like he had licked his plate; that good. The whole experience was warm and wonderful. We are definitely planning on coming back. read more
