Once the insurance paid I would get a refund. I had to call several times to get my refund. They sent me the refund, then there was a $40 refund due from several years back. They said they had to send it to "the original payment form". That was from a checking account that had been CLOSED for some time earlier. I told them this several times. They said that sent it to the closed account and never received it back from said back. Called the bank (closed account) the bank said they never received it! So arguing with them about this, along with the fact that they sent me a check for a refund and then turned around and stopped payment on that check so it bounced and I had to pay a service fee on top of it. Need I remind you that they claimed to be open on Saturdaya for your (the customer) convenience but due to the call center miscommunication they will not be open. I was seen quickly. The staff was very friendly to me. They were concerned with whether or not I was in pain. I received an assessment, X-rays, had a cleaning, and my broken tooth was repaired (along with the cavity that caused it). The hygienist was great and so was the dentist. They seemed to aim towards my comfort and meeting my needs. They accepted my insurance, and I paid what I felt was fair price for all that I received. Hope this is helpful.

All of the fillings were left unpolished, resulting in one falling out when I'd flossed, despite my numerous attempts to ask them to polish the fillings. Every single appointment I was told, "next time" they would. There was no next time and I had to get my work corrected by another dentist. Additionally, they had sent debt collection to recover the insurance portion without ever attempting to reach me. Per their agreement with my insurance, I was never responsible for their inability to file a claim within the year grace that they had to do so due to their own clerical error that they'd never attempted even once to resolve. The claim was only submitted and denied once. Unless you want a surprise bill (or in my case, a surprise debt collector), or inadequate care, I deeply suggest avoiding Aspen Dental. I have seen much better prices *and* care with private dentists and other practices.
