Food is so-so and no atmosphere. Went one time and won't return. Alot of scentsy stock.

I discovered this mobile hot dog cart business on Facebook a month or so ago. I love a good hot…read moredog and I love a local business, so I knew I had to chase them down and try one for myself. The menu is simple but highly creative. You can build your own hot dog with a variety of toppings (classics, like ketchup or mustard, are free; premium, like peppers and onions or pineapple relish, are .75 cents) or you can order one of the chef's specialty dogs. By default, the dogs are enormous, savory, and all beef, but you can change to a sausage dog for an upcharge if that's more your flavor. Specialty dogs run between $7-$8, depending on the number and type of toppings. Each one is named after an iconic or well traveled road in Huntsville, which is a great tie-in to their name and theme. You can buy chips on the side, but we all found the dogs to be a more than ample lunchtime meal, and worth the price. My parents and I had the 431 (pineapple relish, bacon bits, peppers and onions), the South Parkway (a tricked out chili cheese), and the Monte Sano (brown mustard, kraut, pickle relish, bacon bits). Each one was delish, piled high with toppings, and made fresh to order. It's obvious the owner is thoughtful and particular about the toppings. The bacon bits were real, freshly chopped, crispy and fatty bacon -- not the kind you buy in a package at the store. Astoundingly, the buns held up to all the goodies piled on top. If you're too intimated to eat with your hands, forks and a multitude of napkins are at your disposal. The owner was there slinging dogs himself and we had a good time chatting with him. He and his wife run the operation by themselves, and it's nice to see and interact directly with the people who benefit from your business. He was very nice and did an excellent job preparing our food and telling us about his product. You can reliably find their weekly schedule posted on Facebook. They're often at Parkway Scrubs for lunch and also appear at local breweries and events for dinner, but don't take my word for it -- find their page and hunt down this cool little cart.

I wasn't disappointed! This is a smaller, older looking restaurant. They were busy even for a late lunch around 2 PM. There's not a ton of parking and some of it is on an incline, but it worked out okay for me. Inside there are about 6-7 small tables and a spot to order at the counter. The menu consists of classic American fast food options, like burgers, chicken tenders, and fries. It reminds me a little bit of a drive-in spot just because it is so nostalgic-feeling. The service was spot-on and so nice. The ladies working were beyond pleasant and helpful and many seemed to know the local customers quite well. My food came out quickly and was nice and hot. I ordered a bacon hamburger and a side of fries. Portion sizes here are pretty reasonable and appropriate for the lower price, though if you come with a big appetite I would recommend getting a double or something. Fortunately, I didn't need a huge meal that late in the day, so I was happy with my order. The burger was cooked nicely, the bun was soft, and the bacon was flavorful and crispy if not particularly thick-cut. The fries had a lot of gooey-hot potatoey insides and went well dipped in ketchup. Simple, fast, and tasty food here! I'd recommend and would visit again if I find myself back in the area.

Menu consists of classic American fare, like burgers, patty melts, and chicken tenders. Fries, onion rings, and tater tots for your sides! They also offer daily lunch specials; on Tuesday it was spaghetti and garlic bread, but other days have plate lunches like country fried steak. This appears to be a pretty popular deal -- lots of spaghetti coming out of the kitchen! Our waitress proudly explained how they hand patty the burgers and hand bread the tenders, and how the salads are made with freshly pulled lettuce. She also told us she'd worked there a long time. Love a place that retains employees! Says a lot. Our waitress did a good job, too. My parents both ordered a hamburger and split an order of onion rings. I was gonna go in on a burger but couldn't resist when I heard the tenders were hand-breaded. So I had chicken tenders with fries. The burgers were great! Parents said they reminded them of old-fashioned diner burgers. My tenders were also good: crispy breading and all white meat. The onion rings were crunchy and the fries were crinkle cut and of ample portions. My complaints are generally small, but for what they are: wish the tenders, fries, and rings had been a little saltier, and I wish the ranch for dipping was a little thicker and less herby (kinda tasted like salad dressing ranch rather than buttermilk). Still, minor in the grand scheme of things! Thanks for an enjoyable lunch! :)

And I'll bet you can find even more descriptive accolades in your own vocab as soon as you try them. I truly have no words to adequately describe the combination of flavors and textures....save for umami, sweet, crunchy, hint of smooth, melting cheese shards, grilled to oh-such-goodness. I had a side of one of my favorites: yuca fries. Oh!!! Take me back to my very early days as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia! Crispy fry-like staves perfectly seasoned on the outside and tender-hot pillowy inside. I simply cannot wait to return and try some of the other incredible offerings. I have dreaded each visit to a CB. The rustic ambiance, lack of adult beverages and traditional county style of cooking just doesn't appeal to me. I like their egg white option for breakfast and I do like their hash brown casserole, which is pretty rich and decadent. Enter Thanksgiving. Not to be a kill joy, but I am not a fan of food centric holidays, particularly one that is dictated by tradition. I'd rather enjoy something like Murder Point oysters than a roasted turkey. Or seared scallops. Or chicken fajitas or fish tacos. ((I digress.)) The hubs got a delicious turkey from where, I don't know, that only required reheating. It was the best turkey I ever had, period. Now we needed sides. Enter Cracker Barrel. The heat and serve package was ready the day before Thanksgiving at 3:30 and was beautifully packaged in individual heat and serve aluminum containers with aluminum lids. The containers worked great to store the leftovers. We opted for sweet yeast rolls, fried apples (I didn't want either), turkey gravy (this was good), country green beans (were as expected), mac and cheese (this was good!). All dishes heated up quickly and beautifully. My only ding (and this is a personal preference) is I can eat my weight in good stuffing! I adore my Momma's and Grandma's stuffing! They make the cornbread a week in advance and often added oysters to it. It had a beautiful texture with crunchy celery bits and chicken stock and sage! Absolutely delish! Just looking at CB's "cornbread dressing" made me sad. It was really wet! It was not soupy by any means, just overly wet. It was reminiscent of Stove Top stuffing with too much liquid. It was edible but very boring. Overall, this was a great Thanksgiving option for the two of us and the meal is advertised as feeding 2-4 people. It could easily have fed 6 folks (including the turkey and pumpkin pie we purchased elsewhere). Still, the sides are substantial and can feed 6. The Heat and Serve instructions were thorough, well produced, and appreciated! Thank you, CB, for offing this Thanksgiving meal!
