Quick take: food was good, service was nice and decent, restaurant was not toooo busy during peak lunch hours, but the place was a little unclean. Would come back though. French fries really food. Wife said 10/10. Patty melt also was tasty. Dressing was good but last bite had a large chunk of celery/onion which was too crunchy. Sides were tasty. Could have used a bit more chicken. Overall not bad.

First, you won't get better service at any restaurant. They are very friendly and attentive. Second, if they have the sweet potato casserole as the side dish of the day...get it...it is so good. Third, the country fried steak with white gravy is my favorite Rolo's dish. Fourth, the prices are very reasonable.

Upon walking into Rolo's Cafe, I thought I walked into my Aunt Deb's house - knick-knacks everywhere, a pile of random stuff in a corner, not a bare spot on any flat surface and a fly swatter hanging by the kitchen door (ick). Of course Aunt Deb didn't have train tracks hanging from her dining room ceiling and Rolo's doesn't have my 40 year old high school graduation picture on their wall...to be honest, I stopped and looked at their health rating before we sat down. (92 BTW). There is a board with specials by the front door and a sign that says to seat yourself. We sat ourselves at a booth with cushions that needed some love. We were immediately greeted, given menus silverware and our drink orders were taken. I'd heard that Rolo's has good burgers. I didn't go wrong - a large, hand pressed patty nestled on a perfectly toasted bun and topped with lettuce, the reddest tomato I've seen since last summer, onions, pickles, mayo and mustard. I'm a ketchup girl so I ordered mine without the condiments. My BIL ordered his with everything - his bun disintegrated within the first few bites - I think you might be better off ordering your condiments on the side. I had fries that were seasoned and perfectly crisp. My BIL, who ALWAYS opts for onion rings said his were great. We both opted for the 7 oz burger which was bigger than I thought. For a guy who rarely leaves anything on his plate, even he couldn't quite finish his meal and brought home a handful of those crispy rings. I rarely eat everything in front of me and brought home half my burger and fries which made an excellent lunch after a few minutes in the air fryer. My husband opted for the grilled tilapia, mashed potatoes and fried okra. He was served a huge piece of tender grilled fish. The homemade mashed potatoes were a special treat, the okra, well, it was okra. Cobbler and banana pudding were dessert choices that I'll have to try on another visit. Aunt Deb made sure we never left hungry and if you leave Rolo's hungry it's your own fault. Rolo's, thank you for bringing back some sweet memories.

This southern food was really good. It was home cooking, just like mom makes. The service was very prompt. We called ahead 10 minutes and they set up tables for 11 of us. The waitress was very friendly, personable and prompt. This is an old restaurant, but they are very clean and well-established and everyone around loves them all the locals go there. They closed for about 30 days one time and everybody in the surrounding area was all up in arms. Thank goodness Rolo's opened back up. Thank you Christy, the entire Madison and Limestone County Thank you for keeping Rolo's going!!

Rolos has been around for years and it is a staple for me in Huntsville. They do have the best Turnip Greens in Huntsville. Their pintos are pretty dang impressive as well. I've been coming here for years, and for me this place has way more to offer than chain restaurants. They have so many great entrees. My number one go to is the Greens and Cornbread. A huge bowl of turnip greens with pepper sauce that are just so tender and delicious. Their hot cornbread muffins are delicious. Their chef salad is amazing and HUGE and I'm pretty sure their ranch is homemade which is a very nice touch. Johns meatloaf is delicious and the meatloaf sauce/topping is just like how your grandma would make it. I love the ambiance of this restaurant, they have a train going around above you which is adorable and precious. I have heard people reference this train as a staple. The service is great and it's just a wonderful local restaurant. They will be celebrating their 30th anniversary next year and I am so glad they are in The Huntsville community.

    BLT with fries - excellent!

Quick and friendly service with a very reasonably priced meal. Comfortable booths, great location near work. I ordered a BLT with fries and the serving size was fairly generous. Definitely would return to try other items on the menu. Can't go wrong with a great local diner!

Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of Cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it was had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would be would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened on one side. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked her for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

This was Southern hospitality at its finest, wrapped in incredible food and genuine warmth from the moment our Forest Service and Alabama A&M team walked through the door. The owner and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and hospitable to our group, treating us less like customers and more like honored guests. The owner personally sat with our team, walking us through the menu item by item, sharing stories, and offering recommendations on his favorite dishes. That personal touch set the tone for the whole lunch and made the meal feel both special and deeply personal. The food itself was soul-satisfying in every way. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite. The catfish was especially delicious as well, tender, flavorful, and cooked just right, embodying everything you hope for in classic country cooking. And the banana pudding was a standout, instantly transporting me to memories of dining in Savannah, with that rich, comforting, homemade taste you feel in your soul. From start to finish, everything about our visit to G's Country Kitchen was outstanding...the hospitality, the conversation, the food, and the feeling of being truly cared for. They did turn on air finally after 10-15 minutes, and many other complaints, and moved us when we asked.) Ordered 2 teas with lemon - rec'd no lemon (till asked again) and very little ice. Waiter just said no and didn't check with kitchen.) Husband ordered bone-in rib-eye steak - tasted charred on outside tho it was cooked correctly at medium on inside. Seasoning on it didn't cover up the char taste. I settled for a chicken salad (lettuce with pecans and grilled chicken pieces with honey mustard dressing) but the chicken wasn't tender, tasty or fresh tasting. Lastly, the whole place was disgusting with sticky tables, floors, etc. and restroom was so bad, husband nearly slipped. (Noticed they have a 91 health score - incredible. Did they pay them off?)
