This place is solid. Buffalo momo is delicious and so are many of their entrees. As always, very filling so watch how much you order.

/ BOTTOM LINE: Small space (but they do a ton of takeout business), lovely service (but you get to watch interesting programming on the TV), and delicious food. A great place for affordable and fast food while still trying something new. / THE SPACE: Only a couple of tables (~20 people) in place. You order at the counter and there's free chai tea! / THE FOOD: MOMO -- Their must-gets are the momo of course. The momo options and the rest of the menu are super vegetarian friendly -- we got the lamb momo which was delicious, but there was spinach/peer momo and chicken momo, too. It comes with a couple of sauces that are spicy and not-so-spicy. PLANTAIN CURRY -- a continuation of their vegetarian friendly dishes. The plantains still had bite to it and the curry came with jasmine rice to sop up all the delicious sauce. I got the chicken biryani, mildly spicy. It was alright, kind of too spicy for my taste(could've kept eating it but with intermittent water breaks between bites). However,the garlic naan and paneer masala that my girlfriend ordered. Firstly the naan was nicely cooked and wasn't greasy at all, great tear-ability for sharing. Then there's the paneer masala. I admit that I did not try the paneer but the masala sauce.... I have never used the words "depth of flavor," before and have always been confused by that expression when used on reality cooking shows. But pieces of this garlic naan when dipped into the masala sauce,unlocked a hidden vault in my culinary mind. I got the chicken momo special on Mondays ($4.50). The momos were very fresh. The dough wrapping was thin but still strong enough to pick up without poking a whole through the dough. On their own, they don't have much flavor but they're pretty good once you add the spicy sauce. read more

Think of an asian ravioli, thin skins + coriander flavored meats, in a spicy marinara sauce and you've got a momo + up-charge for spicy tomato sauce. The spices are pungent and fragrant, and produce lingering effects from the chili and course black pepper blend. The sauce also includes big chunks of onions and bell peppers. Perhaps forgo the spicy tomato sauce and get plain momos with a variety of protein stuffings and simply use their in-house hot sauce. The marina-like tomato sauce was definitely a surprise but nonetheless tasty. There are a few tables for groups in the restaurant, but it seems to be more of a order out establishment. read more

Momo have not left my mind since trying this place. Dumplings in all their forms and from all cultures are pretty much my favorite food, so you could say I am biased. That said, the momo here made me very very happy. The buffalo momo were flavorful, fresh, and juicy. Their non momo entries are surprisingly good value and very tasty. I've had better kheer rice pudding, but for $3 it was alright. Service was friendly. The place is small, but has some seating. Consider takeout and apparently free delivery as an alternative. We have been here or done take out at least 30 times, so I will try my best to be helpful. Guys, you have good product-market fit, so please invest in better service. I am not asking for fine dining experience but a decent customer experience. 1. Do not mix orders. Invest in a system where the kitchen gets the exact and full order and you don't have receptionist trying to remember all orders. It's frustrating to have your second momo come after 55 minutes of wait. Or to have your veg momo mixed with chicken momo. 2. Time - if you know some days are going to be busy, then please keep an extra helping hand. Waiting 35 minutes just to get your samosa-chat is unacceptable. 3. First come, first serve - it is unacceptable to have others who came after you get their food (same food) before you. Again, this may be related to #1 above. 4. Offer people discounts or free food when things go wrong. For example, do not assume everyone is non-vegetarians in a group. If a group orders a bunch of things, please do not assume everyone is sharing everything. Have receptionist trained so they can ask customers what would they like first on busy days. 5. Always send couple's food order together, at the same time. It is absolutely ridiculous to bring one persons order (non-veg) while the other person waits (veg). Again, see #3 above. Couples eat together. And couples may be veg/non-veg. 6. Faster service - you are not McDonald and we understand that. But you should try to aim to get all orders fulfilled within 20 minutes. 30 minutes is absolute max. I have waited upto 55 minutes at your place. This needs to be improved or you won't have people coming back to you who value time. read more

My husband and I only had the Momo's and veggie samosas. You get 8 momos per order for about $8-$10 depending on the type. The mixed momos were each unique and delicious. A great way to try all the varieties. I had half plantain and half spinach paneer momos. The plantain momos were good but a little too sweet whereas the spinach paneer ones were more savory. Both of us really enjoyed the spinach paneer best! What really makes the momos absolutely amazing are the two sauces that come with it. This is a small place, but they offer free delivery. My friend from out of town and I ordered in last night and thought the food was good until we got to the malai kulfi. We were so excited about trying it out. The milk was burnt! The kulfi was disgusting. We opened the box and knew the milk was burnt. The smell was so strong! Tasted really bad too! Why would this place sell something that clearly was bad?! Although the food was good, the malai kulfi just ruined it for us. We ordered spinach and paneer momos and chicken stir fried noodles (medium spice). Food was very tasty, although the noodles were more spicy than what I was expecting for medium level. So if you're not into really spicy foods, I would say order mild. Wait time wasn't too long, staff was friendly, and they offer free masala chai by the entrance door! I went in because I could smell the curry from across the street and it smells so good and I've been wanting to try momos for a while now. They have their chicken momo for $4.99 on Mondays so that's what i ordered. You get 8 momos per order and it comes with two sauces. I thought they were really tasty, though I'm not an expert on momos. They're not the type of thing I would crave and come back especially for, though. The quality of the food has significantly dropped in the past couple of months. I work nearby and have been coming to Momo for lunch about once a week with colleagues for over a year. It's been, historically, really great but recently the food has gone downhill. For example, the Chicken Tikka Masala has been watery and much less flavorful and the Saag Paneer is no longer a uniform green and creamy curry but has chunks of spinach/greens in a yellow curry base. We had hoped this was just an off day or two but its been consistently like this for over a month now. Not sure if they changed chefs/recipes or are simply just cutting corners but it's not good. Hoping to be able to change this review if and when they turn it back around. Like I said, it used to be a great, go-to lunch spot. Very disappointing. read more

I didn't want to eat here in first place but because some of us wanted to order to go and some wanted to eat Indo-Chinese food we end up ordering and I am glad we did. We tried two variety of momos, chowmein and biryanis. Veg momos and Chowmein tasted exactly like what we get on Delhi streets. And spinach-paneer momos were equally delicate. As far as authentic, true to its spiciness ratings, and get your craving for Nepalese/Indian food this is as good as it gets in this area! Atmosphere: very clean, the kitchen is tucked away so you don't come out smelling like Indian food after your experience. They also always have Marsala tea available for free. Service: reliable, friendly, and attentive. Food: INCREDIBLE! Every dish I've tried have not disappointed me. You also need to ensure to try their breads. And try something else other than naan, my choice is usually poori (if eating there). All of their curries are fresh, flavorful and not greasy. I recommend your usual tikka masala or butter chicken. Momo's have many unique fillings to choose from - spinach paneer is wonderful. The dough is very light and the fillings are always flavorful. This review is only for the momo take out. I am usually disappointed at momos, wraps are often too thick and filling too dry. Basically its a rough version of chinese dumpling. Pass. However these momos are amazing. The wraps are super thin and the fillings are very interesting. I got the spinach and peener and the lamb ones. They are both really really good. Its also an interesting flavor i haven't had anywhere else. The lame one has strong lame flavor which i like and not dry. The sauce is also really good, has a kick but not killing your flavor bud spicy. It is a bit pricy compare to other momo 10 dollar for 6 but its wroth it. read more

Momo N Curry is a very nondescript small restaurant on Somerville Ave. I probably would have never tried it if my friend had not taken me there. I'm so happy she did as it was sooo delicious! We dined in (they only have a handful of tables), and ordered several different items to share between the three of us. We tried the chicken momo (although next time, I will be more adventurous and try the goat or boar), and steamed dumplings with this red sauce with a kick. We also shared a noodle dish (which I really wished I wrote down, as we let my friend order for us). All in all, it was very tasty and unique - a different experience than your regular dumpling type place. This place has some great food. The other reviews are a bit misleading. This place is really small, maybe 16 chairs among 4 tables. This isn't the place for groups. This place is also kind of like a diner; it's not particularly "fancy" and has the atmosphere of a quick bite. There also isn't wait staff: if you sit down to eat you have to buy a bottle of water or a can of soda. Again, food is delicious but this is more of a takeout place IMO. read more

I was really searching authentic taste for momo and red chutney which comes on the side. This place serves very tasty and yummy momos. I have tried vegetarian one but I am sure even chicken momo would be great. Chole bhature are also super tasty. They also have complimentary masala tea which makes your evening perfect. I wish I could give 5 star to this place. But reason for not doing is only because it does not have enough space to accommodate. I have only had their food via UberEats and it is amazing! Had the vegetable samosa; delicious and great size for the price. I wasn't a fan of the chicken momo's but my girlfriend loved them. The chicken Momo is a really big order for the price too. For entrees we have tried the chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, and mango chicken curry. All entrees were delicious.
