Ate here several months ago and had ham salad sandwiches like my mom use to make. Homemade bread, fresh ground ham...........Delicious! This place is full of a friendly staff, extremely unique decor with that good hometown feel. Driving back from the Frio river to Houston right around the Luling exit I was craving a really good coffee. I saw the reviews for mom's front porch and thought it's worth the extra eight minutes off the freeway for a place called mom's front porch. It didn't disappoint. I ordered a honey lavender latte and it was absolutely delicious. My three little boys got ice cream cones. The suite owner offered me a free snickerdoodle cookie. Which was so good I tried to buy three more, but they were sold out. I can definitely see why. They were delicious. Inside is a cute gift shop and some awesome books for sale. We opted for the chocolate chip cookies which were as big as my nine year olds head. Everything there it was amazing. Definitely worth the stop if you're on a road trip on I 10 near Luling. read more

Was on a family day trip to Luling recently and we were looking for a dessert stop. Found Mom's Front Porch on Yelp with a 5 star rating. Had to check it out. Well, I can say it lived up to the rating. Of all the menu items, we only had the ice cream, but it was great. When it came to ordering, our server, Tanna, warned us that a single size scoop was Texas-sized, not just an ordinary scoop. She wasn't kidding. My single scoop of mixed Mexican Vanilla and butter pecan was bigger than most large orders at other ice cream places. And it was really, really good. And you can't beat the price. The food and drinks were fine, but there were three employees working and none of them were wearing masks. There was a table with 3-4 people, maskless, who appeared to be having some sort of business meeting and carrying on loudly (not there to eat). I was in shock and should have left without ordering, but I just pulled my two young kids our of their car seats after a two hour drive, so we ordered and got out of there even faster than planned. I've stopped in several small towns and cafes during the pandemic and this was the first one that couldn't even pretend to care. Ridiculous. read more

Easily one of the best "mom and pop" shops that I have been to. I typically try to find the highest rated places in the area, and when I came across this restaurant, I was impressed. Needless to say, they did not disappoint. Each individual was extremely friendly, polite, and engaging. We are from Dallas, and we will be making the 4-hour trip back due to the superb service, as well as the 5-star food. We had milkshakes, sandwiches, cookies, and drinks. We are traveling from San Antonio to Houston. Needed a pit stop and we didn't want fast food. I hopped in Yelp to see what we could find. We were just outside of Luling so it pulled up a few options. I went with the higher rated one of Mom's Front Porch. It has sandwiches and soups so we figured it was a safe bet. It did not disappoint. It's a small little place with lots of character. The staff is very friendly - with Momma and one of her daughters working. We got a few sandwiches - which has in-shop made bread. The slices are massive! Those who had sandwiches really enjoyed them. Two of us had salad - pretty basic but good. I added sliced turkey to mine. One of us had the baked potato soup. He really enjoyed that soup and says it's now his favorite thing. One of us tried the Watermelon sorbet (this town is known for for Watermelon). She said it was delicious. read more

We took a trip down to Luling to adopt a sweet kitty from Kingdom Rescues. We stopped in at Mom's Front Porch and we were so pleased we did. The sandwiches with homemade bread were so delicious. Great place to grab some coffee and get work done during the afternoon! I had an almond milk latte with amaretto flavoring. It was a little sweeter than I prefer since they use sweetened almond milk, but still good. They had 8 different ice cream flavors, and good flavors like cookies and cream, salted caramel, butter pecan, watermelon etc. The staff was so kind and willing to make custom coffee drinks for us! They came to check on us and made sure we knew the wifi password when they saw my computer. The atmosphere was homey and laid back. It didn't feel too crowded as the tables are decently spread out. All I read about was fresh soft homemade bread. Today was not that day. It was so bad that you could not even bite off the outer crust and what was left was stale. Maybe since it was Monday they had not made a fresh batch. They did say that only white bread was left.. I can see why. Old and stale like they dug it out the freezer. The chicken salad would have been good if the bread would have been left off. Might give them another chance but most likely not due to kitchen staff serving sub standard food. My recommendation; Don't serve paying customers food you wouldn't eat. But reading the past reviews I do believe their homemade wheat bread is good and brings customers back for more. The ice cream look good but after the disappointing sandwich we lost our sweet tooth. Maybe next time. As stated in other reviews the staff was over the top nice, polite and very helpful. read more
