This food is not suitable for humans or animals alike. This company was supposed to send me a box on a Saturday and never showed up so then I called and they said OK we're gonna send it to you on a Tuesday and it never showed up until Wednesday. Then they said it was still going to be fresh so I did have a meal for dinner which was the Salisbury, oh my God I'm paying for it still my stomach hurts so bad and it affects my joints. Makes my joints ache. I am a homebound, senior, and they're poisoning their seniors. How do they get away with serving this crap to the older generation saying it's good nutrition food when you read the labels it's just poisonous. I will try to find a federal agency to complain to because Medicare shouldn't be paying for this. When I call to complain about not getting the box in the first place, they were rude I don't need that and one day they'll be seniors and see how they're treated. This is the worst company ever thinking that they're doing a service for seniors when they're just trying to rake in the money that the federal government will pay. Received a sample of 21 meals yesterday ordered by a case manager with my medicare advantage insurance. Had the sweet & sour chicken for lunch. It was barely edible and bore no resemblance to any sweet & sour chicken I have had at a good Chinese restaurant. My social worker approved me for these meals and told me I could get a vegetarian menu. The first order was a regular menu. Apparently this is sent out to everyone as a first order, regardless of your diet. There were only 2 vegetarian items and the rest I threw away. The mac and cheese was pretty bad and a very small portion. It was literally a half a cup of macaroni with a slice of cheese thrown on top of it. I found out there are only 3 vegetarian meals offered on the regular diet. A full vegetarian menu is only offered to private pay clients. They offer diabetic, low sodium, renal, and vegetarian diets. Except that is kind of a lie. They have 1 basic menu and simply point out things on the menu that "might" work for the other diets. This being the case, there are only a few menu items available to people who need special diets. Picking through the regular diet menu doesn't give you much of a meal selection. The people I talked to in customer service were nice but I got so many different answers to the same questions. The customer service people didn't really seem to know how the system actually works. It took me 4 different calls to get the information I related in this review. That was 3 calls too many. So my state paid for a box of meals I couldn't eat. I canceled the service and feel the taxpayer money really went to waste. I feel they misrepresent their services. I suppose if you are able to eat a regular diet things might be easier for you but after the mac and cheese ordeal I can't see how anyone would find them tasty. read more

You can get better tasting and more amount of food by trying out several different frozen dinner makers at the grocery store frozen food section. They also have no refund or replacement policy and if you don't meet their timetable they will send you a generic mix of meals which regardless if they are meet your dietary needs you will have to pay for them. This food was sent as a benefit from Humana following my hospital discharge. The food is barely palatable. Most of the meat seemed like it was ground & reassembled. Vegetables have no seasoning & undercooked. I have it in the freezer & hope I can find someone who needs it. A week after I got mine, a friend had his delivered & felt the same way. Beware! Plastic found mixed in food! Mom's Meals does not provide healthy foods whatsoever! They use soy for meat & have nothing but starches for vegetables. Even the "Diabetic Menu" was high in carbs & starches. Many times during the Summer & high heat, the boxes were delivered with only 2 ice packs & the ice packs would cover only one side of the box not covering all the meals. Moms Meals could not have cared less! They don't care about serving unhealthy meals that are warm & possibly spoiled! Just like they don't care if foreign objects like plastic are mixed in the meal! These people are predators. My father is a senior citizen with decent benefits. When he was in the hospital, a social worker "assisted" my father in learning about his unused benefits. She set up an appointment with a rep at his home. He thought it was a benefit specialist but it was a mom's meals rep. He waited 2 weeks to learn that she just planned to sign him up for sub par frozen foods delivered to his door. They claim to have diet specific nutrients meals but nearly every meal includes random bread even for diabetics. It's like institutional food. Do not feed this to your loved ones if you want them to flourish. This food is not the healing food ourseniors need and deserve. Shame on you Mom's Meals. read more

Worst "food" ever. Terrible quality, tasteless at best. Processed chicken and turkey, soggy vegetables,tons of artificial ingredients, additives,etc. The ever-present fruit cobbler or compote seems to be canned pie fillings with some oatmeal strewn over it. Truly gross food - totally unappealing and unappetizing. And really - who wants food that lasts 2 weeks in the fridge? There is nothing fresh - no actual fruit, no salads. Mom got her first delivery today. She is in a wheelchair. The bell rang. She wheeled to the door and the box was on the floor and the delivery guy was no where to be found. It was very difficult for her to get the box in her apt given it's size & weight & her disability. When she called "customer service" they told her that if she didn't like it, don't order anymore. I ordered the Tuna Casserole and Pot Pie Soup on Dec. 15th, 2022. I haven't gotten through all the meals yet as there are 14 delivered every 2 weeks. So one meal per day. Of the 2 meals I mentioned above, neither had any meat, though there were plenty of potatoes and desert. The vegetables sometimes have sand in them and are 'flavored' with 'seasonings', but they're terrible and most burn my mouth. Mom's Meals must be falling on hard time's to be serving meals without or barely any proteins. I have the Advantage plan so Mom's Meals get's paid about $400 per customer every month. I pay about 1/4 of that. I think meat should be included if the meals ordered in the menu and the label states it. Either someone's raking in the dough and pulling a fast one, or Mom's Meals is barely surviving. Which is it? No tuna in the Tuna Casserole, and no Chicken in the Chicken Pot Pie Soup, and sand in the mixed vegetables. I cannot be the only one receiving meals like this. All the reviews that are written by moms meals pages are ​raving good. Overall I found them disgusting. Not only that, the meat isn't meat. It's fake made mostly with soy products. I wondered why I kept getting doubled over stomach aches and gas and diarrhea, then I really looked at the ingredients. And the photos never look like the real food so I don't know who's taking those pictures. The serving sizes are definitely adequate but doesn't taste like real food to me. read more

OK so I give Mom' s meals one star. I had never tried them but was familiar with sister and brothers companies like Fresh (pre packaged meals.) An associate brought me a box of them and I was like "What the heck! Lets give it a try." I had warmed up the Chicken Teriyaki meal. And tasted a bit of the chicken to see what it gave. 30 minutes of me eating the chicken. I was on the toilet with a stomac ache, like the food was either under cooked or wasn't cooked properly. The rice was OK but the the juice that came on the other side with the food was sour. I mean it tasted like Teriyaki juice but It didn't. (It was weird) Honestly I wouldn't advise anybody that's not up up and age, with pre existing conditions to eat from this company. This place is a real gift for me I suffer from alot of health issues both physical and mental. They have delicious food that is easy to just heat up and eat sent weekly I'm not sure how other people has such bad experiences with them. I have not had food from them that I did not love it's hard for me to find joy in life and this food genuinely give me a bit of joy every day that helps keep me going. Yeah the food is not as "pretty" as the pictures on the website but who thinks pre-made meals from the grocery store are going to look like the box? The meals are a good portion for one person they do not leave me hungry or wanting for more other then wanting to get the meal I just had again. My current favorites are the Salisbury steak and The 3 cheese ravioli That has a garlic sauce on top it's so frickin good! I look forward to all my future meals read more

They were never that good to begin with but this less than mediocre company really dropped the ball during Covid and never came back. My mom thanks them because I switched her to Food With Care, Inc., and I gotta tell ya, they're better than Stouffers and much healthier. I was told by my insurance company that Fed-X would not be the carrier. Fed-X is notorious for late deliveries. My first delivery (Fed-X) was on time. The 2nd, (I told customer service to wait, but they shipped without telling me) was scheduled for Fri, but came on Sat. (My caregiver's off on Sat. & Sun.) I had a very difficult time as I'm not feeling well. She lives across town. I feel that Mom's Meal's first priority is their bottom line, and I don't appreciate their sales department using deceptive tactics just to get the sale/commission, then having me think I won't go through any drama behind deception, late deliveries, subsequent rotten food and having all this piled on me. Very disrespectful employees. My client got a call Yesterday asking if she wanted to cancel her order or place one for a new week. She asked if it was okay to cancel her order that was for the current cycle and he said of course no problem. Got another call today with a very rude staff member saying that an order with my name on it was refused by the driver at her door and was guilt tripping her because now that food had to be thrown in the trash although the order was confirmed canceled prior to the event by another staff member Keep in mind my client is disabled and they are speaking down to her! Worst company ever!!!! I live 400 miles away from my mother and prefers moms. However, it never showed up! Ordered on June 9the for a delivery on the 11th and my poor mother called me on the 12th as she never got it and was out of food! Ordered Instacart so we solved that. However, not moms was closed for the weekend and had to wait until Monday to reach someone. Now it is Monday and they had no the 13th while they apologized, they had no excuse. They reordered it and we were supposed to get it on the 15th. Well guess what??? Yup, never showed!!! So, on the 15th they once again apologized and said we would have a fresh order sent and would get it the 17th... Well it is 5pm on the 17th and you guessed it, no food for mom!!! 3 things to take away here: 1. NEVER use this company! 2. NEVER invest in this company! 3. Got some delivered by a case worker. My daughter is handicapped and these so called meals are the worst thing I've ever tasted. They are tiny and the packages are an absolute nightmare to get off. And after you do pry the plastic top off you will wish you hadn't. Moms Meals were ok until the day they failed to show up on a Tuesday. No Show I called the company the following day I was told your meals are scheduled for Friday and the person was rude and provided no explanation. Some Finally called on Thrusday to say my delivery was rescheduled for Saturday and than scheduled for Tuesday. First there should be subs to make the routes. Many people depend on the meals and go hungry. Also, poor customer service that no phone calls are made to let customers know they need to find other resources for a few days. read more

DO NOT order from this service if you want on-time delivery. I was ordering food for a breast cancer patient to help feed her family after her surgery. The food arrived over a day late -- AFTER the surgery took place, so we had to find an alternative for the family at the last minute. When I called customer service, they were completely unapologetic and did not do anything to try to make it right - only supplied me with a tracking number for FedEx and said it would be delivered at some point in the next day or so. The representative literally laughed at me when I told her that the family would not have food after the surgery and said "I guess that happens sometimes". This is completely unacceptable. I have a friend recuperating with me after a hospital stay and his insurance provided Mom's Meals to him for free. Free is about all they are worth. I have to add that I have a reputation for being an excellent cook, meals from scratch only for me, but my friend wouldn't even eat these dinners and he's a lot less fussy than I am. If you already eat really cheap TV dinners you may like these things, but I was shocked at how horrible they looked and smelled. He tasted a few, but could only manage a few bites. We are now feeding them to the less fussy feral cats that live behind my house. They polish them off ! Oatmeal that looked like a burrito. My friend said the eggs tasted like powdered eggs. Formed chicken that looked horrible and turned my stomach as I cut it up for the cats. A really bad smell from some peach side dish. Lots of plain old string beans as a side. Some breaded looking chicken thing on a very small soggy waffle. Sweet and sour chicken with very little chicken in it. If you're the type who'll eat anything out of the need for convenience, maybe these might satisfy you , although all seem small portioned, but I was shocked at how unappetizing these meals were. read more

it is a shame that they do not use a good delivery company, their food is really good but could care less on how it is delivered to the customer. A customer rep told me on the phone they use Fed Ex or UPS and sometimes the food is left out on the curb by the street. This is shameful and unprofessional. The meals on those pictures they use are nothing like the actual meal I tried all of them with my mom and I am totally disgusted. None of them looked right or tasted right, ordering these meals because you don't want to cook for your aging mother is abuse.
