Went for a fish fry Friday night. The place was packed but we got seated right away. All the employees were on their toes friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and the food was delicious. Prices were great and we didn't have to wait long for our food. It's easy to see why it's hard to find a parking spot in the parking lot especially on a Friday. It has been awhile since my husband and I dined here, we are 5 min from this place! It was busy but we got seated immediately, when we walked in we were so surprised to see that they added a beautiful bar with very nice seats, several couples were having their meal there, very impressed! Our waitress approached us, she was very pleasant and gave us time to look at the menu. Very clean and organized place and the menu has something for everyone, large selection. They have a small outside and private area to eat, on the Bar side they have booth's and another addition is a beautiful room with big windows, for larger groups and families to eat. I ordered a Turkey Reuben and my side which is included I chose lemon rice soup, husband chose, stuffed cabbage, 2 of them, it came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, his side, he got lemon rice soup as well, and a bread basket. Our soup came right to us, they have some of the best lemon rice soup bar none, yum!! Our entrees came in a timely fashion piping hot!! Our meals were delicious and tasty, we were both very pleased and our server could not have been any nicer to us. She brought our check which you pay up front to the cashier. Prices were very reasonable and they give you a generous portion. Give Mom's a try, delicious, home cooked food, highly recommend. I'll never forgive myself for not going to the TV diner because that's where I was headed when I saw mom's. I had noticed this place a few times and wondered what it might be like so I actually made the huge U-turn to backtrack to come to this restaurant. Upon being seated an angry man that I figured had to be the owner or mom very rudely asked me what I wanted to drink. I replied nothing and looking at me as though I were insane. He said you don't want anything to drink to which I replied no thank you. When the waitress arrived, I asked to the guy was thinking that he was possibly the owner and she informed me that he was just the boss boy. Which explains his attitude, obviously trying to blame me for his life choices. I ordered a breakfast which came with the choice of either hashbrowns and toast or pancakes. Three times my waitress obviously suffering from dementia said you can have either hashbrowns and toast or pancakes three times I opted for pancake pancakes. I ordered my eggs scrambled and I have to say that if you applied a little adhesive to the back of these, they could've easily been used to patch an inner tube. They tasted as though they were made out of silicone. The bacon and mind you I have never actually tried this before had the taste and consistency as if you were to hickory smoke a possum or a wolverine. It absolutely had no resemblance to bacon whatsoever. In all fairness, this was my first visit to the restaurant, but I must say there will not be a second. I usually have a three visit rule, but in this case I'm not going to risk coming here a second time. This place is absolutely awful. read more

I love this restaurant and have been going here for 38 years. The updates are beautiful and it is a very friendly restaurant. The food is good and the service is so good and friendly and kind. Eating here is like having a homemade meal served to me at home. The waitress knows me and has for many years. Very find of this place , the food is awesome here . Haven't really had a bad meal here . The omelettes for breakfast are a good portion size and fluffy ,hash browns always on point . Dinner wise the chopped steak is great , fish and chips better than average , spinach pie flaky and tasty . A cute little ma and pa diner. The food is extremely cheap, the only way you will spend more than $15 here is if you get any alcoholic drinks. The bloody mary with all the fixings is around $13. I've breakfasted here a few times, but had never tried lunch/dinner. I was in desperate need of some comfort food after covid booster kicked my butt, and a friend recommended Mom's. The vegetable beef soup was exactly what I was looking for! Went back to try the chicken salad sandwich, which I'm rather picky about. It was SO delicious and served on their homemade bread. It was perfect, for me. Tonight, I tried the chicken parmesan after a friend's recommendation. YUM! And when I saw they they had cream of broccoli soup on the menu, I just had to get a bowl for my lunch tomorrow. As other's have mentioned, they have a liquor license, so I have enjoyed a Bailey's and coffee with my breakfast and Bloody Mary's. Another thing, the generous portion sizes! Update to previous review. My husband and I had a bad experience placing a lunch order today. I deleted the original update because the issue was resolved. An apology was made and an explanation given. I can really respect an establishment that is willing to fix mistakes. When it comes to rudeness, that is one less thing we need in this world. I love the crunchy coconut shrimp, lots of flavor and it's what you are expecting when you want crunchy shrimp, and the onion rings were good. Came with sauce as well. There are closing the restaurant for a month so they can go on vacation. So I ordered the fish and I got 3 different types of fish. They were all very small. The salad had lettuce that was turning brown. My friend get the Caesar Salad and the lettuce was old and slimey. It was inedible. The thing is the guy doesn't care. Woohoo! As good as it gets is exactly the way I feel about Mom's in Trenton. I was taking a group to Lake Erie Metropark and needed a dinner spot. I turned to my friends at Yelp and found MOM's had great reviews and sounded like a place that might work. Well, it certainly did work - it was WONDERFUL. I brought 26 people in for dinner. We had our own room and one waitress (ackkk - one waitress? This is going to be interesting). The menu was vast and everything sounded yummy. Well, guess what? It was! Our waitress may have one of the best Ive ever had (seriously, dealing with a group is NOT easy - and she was a PRO). All the food was delivered hot and timely. We had a bit of just about everything on the menu and not one person didn't like their meal. Everyone was so pleased, they couldn't wait to order dessert (this never happens that everyone would splurge on dessert). Well, again we we're disappointed. From the housemade rice pudding to the pie, everything was yummy. We all waddled out of there full and happy! I had family come into town this week, and my brother requested that we go to Mom's for breakfast. The restaurant does not stand out at all from the street; in fact, I've driven by many times not even noticing that it existed! The interior is very quaint and simple--family restaurant style. I was VERY impressed by the waitstaff. They are very polite, and always have a smile. The prices were reasonable; in fact, when my brother saw them he said, "wow...this is affordable!" I had their veggie omelet, and it was good. Hashed browns were decent, and we never had to wait on coffee refills. My brother just hand their breakfast special, with eggs over easy. There were no complaints with that dish either. Also, we noticed that they had an alcohol selection! Although I didn't partake, if you want a bloody mary or mimosa, you will be in the right spot!!! They also had a few varieties of beer to chose from. This was a perfect stop for a relaxed, quiet, and affordable breakfast. We will be back! read more
