What a fun addition to the island. Great sandwiches and beverages! It's pricey for sure but worth the price.

We were surprised that we had never heard of it, even though we grew up in the very same town, so we decided to make a day of a drive back to the 'Burg for brunch. The good: Coffee Tea Sausage links The bad: Home Fries - bland and under-seasoned, as if they were boiled and barely kissed the grill. Eggs - 1 of the 4 orders at our table were overdone. Ham - overdone and tough to the point that it was very difficult to cut with a knife. Which was odd as they were thin slices! We wonder if it was old ham. Banana cream pie - bananas were overripe Pumpkin crunch pie - had a thin, soggy crust. Pumpkin filling was curdled like scrambled egg texture, under-sweet, and under-spiced. Not worth the $5 per slice. Very disappointing. 2-stars from me means that the food was edible, but definitely not recommendable. We finished our meals but grumbled our way back on our drive to Windsor. All that and the service wasn't even overly friendly Turns out there's a reason we had never heard of the place!

I wear a hijab, and from the moment we walked in, the larger woman working behind the counter was staring at us. Not a quick glance; she kept looking over at us the entire time we were waiting to be seated. It was already uncomfortable. When I ordered breakfast, I specifically asked for no sausages. My family is Muslim, and we follow halal dietary guidelines, which means we only eat meat that has been prepared in accordance with Islamic law. Pork is not permitted at all. I made this very clear when I placed my order. When the food came out, not only were there sausages on my plate, they were burnt pork sausages. I was shocked. I politely raised it with the server, and the woman behind the counter told me they were "the best sausages available" and that I "should try them for once." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This wasn't a matter of preference...it is a fundamental part of my faith. The fact that my simple request was ignored and then dismissed so casually was deeply hurtful. We left without finishing our meal. My kids were confused and I was upset. It was a very uncomfortable experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but especially not to anyone from a visible minority or with dietary restrictions based on their faith. A little basic respect goes a long way.

There is an option to walk in the middle of the island with a sidewalk too. We selected that option for our walk back. The location is great. It's good for the golfers and any visitors on Grosse Ile. Causal vibe and everyone is so friendly. There will be alcohol, but their liquor license is being finalized by mid-June 2024. We were able to sit anyone. We opted for outside to enjoy the Michigan summer. Our waitress, Mary, was so nice and attentive. We started off with mocktails and ice tea. For lunch, we ordered the prime rib melt, the Buffalo chicken salad, and the fish tacos. The Buffalo chicken salad comes with grilled or fried chicken. The fish tacos come with perch, cod, or shrimp. Plus, you can select if you want them grilled or fried. The food was great! I really enjoyed my prime rib melt with grilled mushrooms and onions. You have the choice of a wasabi or garlic aioli. I went with garlic. Yum! After lunch, we walked back towards the airport to the Gilbrator Bay Alpaca Farm. Upon receiving my second mimosa I noticed something floating in it, so fished it out with my fork and kept drinking (I tried to convince myself it was a dark chunk of orange). Then my friend received her second mimosa and it was obvious there were chunks of mold floating in it. We waived the waitress over, and they comped 2 of our 6 drinks but the fact the bartender would serve those is super concerning. It was definitely noticeable. They also didn't seem super shocked by it. I saw enough to know this is not the type of place I care to dine at.
