I've just found this place and now I've been there like 3-4 times already! The prices are great! The food portions are definitely worth everything! I love the smell of the inside! It reminds me of a fresh old country buffet! So far I've tried the baked cod dinner, Cobb salad, and chicken dumpling soup. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! Everything was fresh and everything came out fast! I see why it's always so busy and packed in there. Also the menu is filled with so many different dishes! There will absolutely be something for everyone. 10/10 I definitely recommend

We were very impressed with Secret Recipes Family Dining! Everything was made from scratch, was piping hot, and tasted amazing! Breakfast is where they shine. It was very hard to get lunch, the breakfast menu looked amazing. When I looked around at what the locals were eating, it was mostly breakfast! We can't wait to come back. Friendly service. Homey feel.

The food and service is good, but the music selection doesn't seem to match the clientele or the vibe of the restaurant.

Soup came first 2 cups of lemon drop & 1 clam chowder. Nice start for the meal burgers arrive promptly just the way we ordered medium, toasted bun, lettuce and tomato and American cheese. Fantastic burger, juicy, and filling. Very nice atmosphere lots of car pictures and memorabilia on the walls very clean tables and booths. Nice staff, large parking lot to accommodate crowds. I "hands-down" concur with the guys! I absolutely loved the soup; it tasted like my own beef stroganoff sauce. And IMO, the burger was the best diner burger I've had anywhere in Metro Detroit - perfectly toasted bun, great sear on a well-seasoned, perfectly cooked medium temperature half-pound pattied burger wirh caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, melted Swiss cheese, and a garlic spread. The burger was executed very well and had some great fries which were lightly battered and very crispy. Excellent service and very clean. Overall, an excellent experience. I will definitely be adding this establishment to my rotation.

For example, I get the "Hearty" breakfast most of the time and it comes with eggs, meat, pancakes, potatoes and toast, and it really highlights what is this place's strength. Eggs: I get mine scrambled and have a nice selection of hot sauce to choose from. Meat: I appreciate that they offer turkey sausage since I don't eat beef or pork, but my wife loves their bacon if that's your thing. Pancakes: quality varies the most here as they are sometimes a little pale (but still good) but more often the idyllic golden one expects when ordering. Potatoes: lots of variety here, too, as my home fries come in different sized cuts with seasoning ranging from none to "no need for salt or pepper?" Toast: Again, wide variety of choices, I go with sourdough most often If this sounds like a lot of food, there are lots of other options that make it appealing to smaller appetites. But what I like about the "Hearty" is all the choices and the variation in style (probably depends on who's staffing the griddle) allows me to order the same meal and still feel like I'm getting some variety. Having said that, keep an eye out for the specials. They sometimes are tempting enough to get me to stray from usual. In addition to good food, the service is always friendly, and we've been back enough times to where I think every server recognizes us. Like I said, it's a favorite.

Actually, his words were it was "just okay". At the time, I thought it was his fault. Like, why would you order a burger at a breakfast joint? But whatever he doesn't like breakfast.. anywho I have 0 pictures from yesterday because I was so annoyed. It distracted me from pics but just imagine french toast with strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream , and (what we were told was strawberry sauce drizzled over it) I am writing this review because the level of negligence, poor communication, and awful customer service at this establishment is a massive safety hazard. My Sister and I were here yesterday around 1pm . We ordered some coffee drinks and chatted with the waitress a bit, she mentioned she had been there for over 20 years. So she worked there the under the previous names but same owners, Kikos and before that i cant recall the name . We decided to split the Very Berry French toast. My sister immediately asked, does it have raspberries on it? Because i'm allergic to raspberries. Waitress replies , no ," we don't even have raspberries here" I take a quick glance at the menu and notice that there is raspberry sauce on the Monte cristo. So I say , please make sure there's no raspberry sauce because I do see that on the menu and Just to reiterate , she is allergic to raspberries , so please make sure...and she said , no problem! Drinks come, were chattng , the french toast comes out, looks amazing. We each take one bite from each end. And we both look at each other bc we immediately notice raspberry taste. I immediately waved the waitress over to the table and told her we tasted raspberry, she said, "there's no raspberries in that, but if you want, I can have them remake it" she seemed annoyed. We were speechless , waitress then quickly left to have it remade u assume? Idk ! Even tho my Sis only took one bite and stopped eating, she still suffered an immediate allergic reaction including a swollen tongue and hives in her throat that lasted for days. My sister had to leave immediately to get medication from a pharmacy, while I stayed at the table to wrap things up. I Spoke to the manager and explained what happened, the response was completely unbelievable. Instead of apologizing, she defended the staff, saying, "She didn't do it on purpose, it's not her fault." It turns out the kitchen ran out of strawberry syrup and they substituted it with raspberry syrup. attention owners if you change an ingredient--especially a common allergen--you MUST inform your staff. Also, a server.. (especially one that's been around the block for like 20 years as she said) should know better- always write allergy alerts on the kitchen ticket. The manager offered to remake the food, but I told her, "No, please don't, she's probably not going to eat it, we don't trust you at this point." She brought out a remade plate anyway, so I started to box it up. At that point, my sister came back from the pharmacy and told me her throat was swelling and itchy really bad and we needed to leave immediately. I left the food. As we got up, I noticed they left a bill for our two lattes and only took off the French toast. We hadn't even had a chance to drink the lattes!!!!! We went up to the front counter to clarify since the manager said it would be taken care of. The cashier went back to talk to the manager, and I could see them arguing back-and-forth about it. At that point, I was so incredibly annoyed that I waved my money in the air and said, "You know what, never mind, I'll pay for the lattes." I told the cashier, "This is unbelievable. They literally poisoned my sister, but we are still paying for lattes we couldn'teven enjoy" I threw the cash down on the desk and walked out. They are incredibly lucky my sister only took one bite. Avoid this place at all costs if you have food allergies.
